Problem opening EPS file

Hi I was sent an EPS file. I'm running on Adobe Illustrator CS6. When I go to open this file it says I can't open it becuse he was created in a newer version of the software I have. Does anyone know a way around this so that I can open the file?

Sue.

Select it and then click on "embed" in the control bar. It might be a bit of a mess of traces of clipping subsequently. Ideally, to get the sender to downsave to your version.

    You should not actuall open/edit an attachment or a file on a USB drive, the file must be saved to a document on the PC first and opened/edited location.

    I have an eps file from graphic12.copy that I can't open. What I need to download to open it please? Newmo

    Hi newmo,

    You can open the file using Adobe Illustrator.

    EPS files can be generated by applications of drawing as well as most layout applications. Programs like Adobe PhotoShop image manipulation can also save images bitmap EPS files. You can also open the file in Adobe Photoshop program.

  • Open eps files in Photoshop

    Is it possible to avoid the generic dialog box "Pixelation EPS Format" while opening the eps file in Photoshop.

    I wanted to run a batch job on a set of eps files to convert to GIF format. Whenver the eps file opens this dialog box is displayed.

    Thank you

    Sashi

    Sirois,

    I worked on the same thing you have and found another forum used for batch processes pdf files, that was easily changed to funtion for processing eps files.  The script asks you to choose a folder where your eps images.

    var epsOpts = new EPSOpenOptions();
    epsOpts.antiAlias = true;
    epsOpts.mode = OpenDocumentMode.RGB;
    epsOpts.resolution = 72;
    epsOpts.constrainProportions = true;
    epsOpts.width = new UnitValue( 1700, 'px' );

    #target Photoshop

    app.bringToFront;

    var inFolder = Folder.selectDialog("Please select folder to process");
    if(inFolder != null){
    var fileList = inFolder.getFiles(/\.(eps)$/i);
    var outfolder = new Folder(decodeURI(inFolder) + "/Processed");
    if (outfolder.exists == false) outfolder.create();
    for(var a = 0 ;a < fileList.length; a++){
    if(fileList[a] instanceof File){
    var doc= open(fileList[a],epsOpts);

    var docname = fileList[a].name.slice(0,-4);
    while(app.documents.length){
    var saveFile = new File(decodeURI(outfolder) + "/" + docname + ".tif");
    SaveTiff(saveFile);
    activeDocument.close(SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES) ;
      }
    }
    }
    };

    function SaveTiff(saveFile){
    tiffSaveOptions = new TiffSaveOptions();
    tiffSaveOptions.embedColorProfile = false;
    tiffSaveOptions.imageCompression=TIFFEncoding.TIFFLZW
    activeDocument.saveAs(saveFile, tiffSaveOptions, true,Extension.LOWERCASE);
    }

    I hope that this script will help, because it helps me.

  • Problem opening Illustrator file created in a newer version

    I am trying to open an image file that was sent to me by someone who uses a newer version of the AI, I.  I'm working out of CS4.  I also work out of Windows if it matters.

    When I try to open it, a window pops up telling me she was created in a newer version and data loss can occur, I would like to import?  I click OK and then get a message which reads. "The document contains PDF objects which have been reinterpreted."  I click OK again, and it seems that the file is open.

    Except when it is open there is no image displayed.  He was in the lower left corner reads as follows:

    It is an Adobe Illustrator that has been saved without content PDF file.  Instead or open this file in other applications, it should be re-recorded in Adobe Illustrator with the option 'Create PDF Compatible file' lit.  This option is in the dialog box Options of Format native Illustrator, which appears when you save an Adobe Illustrator file by using the Save as command.

    I know that the image is there I can see it in preview on my computer.

    Someone at - it ideas about what I could try to get this file to open it?

    When to open a new Illustrator file accesses the part file PDF.

    Explanation (please look at to understand) https://vimeo.com/117691712

    The preview of the file on Windows is something different. It is not vector data, but just a glimpse.

    Ask the person who sent the file to downsave to CS4 for you. Will be the best solution, because the PDF content is flattened in every possible way.

  • New problem opening Pagemaker files in InDesign

    I have a lot of files to archive in Pagemaker 6 and 7 and now use InDesign CS2. Until recently, I could open the pagemaker files in InDesign and save as files InDesign and there I went.

    But now, I get an error message just saying: the document is damaged and cannot be recovered. First off I thought it was really a corrupted document but then realized all my old .pmds said the same thing.

    Is there a known issue with perhaps a recent update of InDesign or something?

    I'd really like to be able to access my old msdp!

    Thank you in advance.

    No, but I bet you're on Windows XP, right?

    CS2 + Windows XP Service Pack 3 = cannot open PageMaker files, at all.

    If my proposal is false and you are on a different OS, you can just ignore me.

  • Problem opening FLA file

    I worked with a Flash file on and off for a few weeks and now I am unable to open the file. When you try to open it I see the dialog box error following 'a call API came out abnormally.

    Could someone tell me what can be the cause of this and how it could be solved. There is nothing too special is happening in the Flash file - it loads data from a couple of XML files and presents the news of pie charts. It has a number of screens that are set along the timeline, the user can navigate and load in external SWF.

    A considerable amount of work has gone into this file and it is due for completion today. I have used a trial version of Flash Professional 8 and am awaiting delivery of the software in a box. I tried another copy of the trial on a separate and asked a friend to start machine, but it gets the same error.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    I had a problem with Excel and Vista I can not back down to the coast. A lot of research but can not find an answer. I tried saving the file associations for Excel but doesn't seem to be the cause of the route of the question.

    Problem...
    If I open an Excel file in Excel 2007, all is well. However if I try to open the same file by double clicking it from the Explorer or Office Excel reports an error that the file cannot be found. The same problem does not occur with a different username on the same installation on Vista.

    Any ideas?

    See if this helps:

    1. Start Microsoft Excel.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
    3. On the general tab, clear (uncheck) ""ignore other applications ' and then click OK. "
    4. Quit Excel.

  • Problem opening PDF files .zip

    I have 2 computers, both computers according to me to be configured identically.  Windows 7 x 64.  A service provider allows you to download a 'bundle' of PDFs in one zip archive.  One of my computers will open the .zip file in adobe merge all PDFs in a single document from the opening.  The other computer keeps giving me the error that .zip is not a supported file type.  I have reviewed the registry settings and made some adjustments based on other messages from the forum, but none solved the problem. Work computer using the software adobe reader 10, no computer started working with adobe 11, I tried to uninstall and install an older version, nothing helps.  Help, please!

    My advice is to check the ZIP files with care. Since Acrobat is a not any tool to combine the contents of a ZIP into a single PDF file automatically, one of these two things is likely:

    1. the download is actually different for some reason any.

    2. There are additional software making the combination

    My money is on '1' and I would recommend that you try to take the 'ZIP' file on different computers to compare.

  • How can I automate generic opening EPS files and save in TIF?

    Hello

    I am trying to automate the process of opening files EPS Genric 100 and save them as targets. One of the things is that I need to rasterize these files at 1200 dpi (not the default 72 dpi) and I want off anti-aliasing. I tried to use actions without luck, and I touched my feet in the scripts, which I know absolutely nothing. Here is the script that I copied from another post and changed, and is then lower than that I received the error message. Anyone have any ideas? I use CS4.

    var epsOpts = new EPSOpenOptions();

    epsOpts.antiAlias = false;

    epsOpts.mode = OpenDocumentMode.CMYK;

    epsOpts.resolution = 1200;

    epsOpts.constrainProportions = true;

    #target Photoshop

    app.bringToFront;

    var InFolder = Folder.selectDialog ("~ jesse$ / Volumes/Iomega\ hand/Current\ projects/Stone\ soup/Stone\ Soup\ guide\ 10/Images\ 2/Test ');

    if (InFolder! = null) {

    var outfolder = new Folder (decodeURI (inFolder) + ' ~ jesse$ / projects/Volumes/Stone\ the hand/Current\ of the Iomega\ soup/Stone\ Soup\ guide\ 10/Done ");

    if (outfolder.exists == false) outfolder.create ();

    for (var a = 0; a < fileList.length; a ++) {

    if ([a] instanceof file fileList) { }

    var doc = open (fileList [a], epsOpts);

    var Nomdoc is fileList [a].name.slice (0, -4);.

    while (app.documents.length) { }

    saveFile var = new queue (decodeURI (outfolder) "/" ".tif"+ docname);

    SaveTiff (saveFile);

    activeDocument.close (SaveOptions.DONOTSAVECHANGES);

    }

    }

    }

    };

    function SaveTiff (saveFile) {}

    tiffSaveOptions = new TiffSaveOptions();

    tiffSaveOptions.embedColorProfile = false;

    tiffSaveOptions.imageCompression = TIFFEncoding.TIFFLZW

    activeDocument.saveAs (saveFile, tiffSaveOptions, true, Extension.LOWERCASE);

    The script is not clear. Try to use the ExtendScript Toolkit, which is installed with Photoshop. You use the text editor is the addition of control characters.

    When you try to open the .jpg file in an e-mail message, get the message.  This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.  Create an association in the Folder Options Panel.  How should I do?

    Create a file association.

    1. download and save the attachment to the office.
    2. right click on the saved file.
    3. Select: Open with on the shortcut menu.
    4. click on: choose [default] program.
    5 select: Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (unless you are using a different program).
    6. check: always use the selected program to open this type of file.
    7. click on OK.

    This should allow you to open these attachments directly from email address now.
