  It's more than likely the problem. The Adobe Acrobat Reader software is not an 'upgrade' to Adobe Acrobat. Acrobat will open and convert .jpg files in PDF, free player open that pdf file.

  If you want to 'upgrade' and need this capability, you must update to Acrobat, not reader.

  The good news is that you should always have Acrobat on your system. Open it and use it to open the .jpg file.

Photoshop worked perfectly in the past and the other day I noticed that I can't open all the jpg files in Photoshop (tried all the usual ways to circumvent the opening problem), I get the error message: "Could not complete your request because the file was not found." My work-around for the moment, is to open in preview mode before and export as a PDF file, then open the PDF file in photoshop, however, this is not ideal.
