Problem publishing documents to Word 2003

I'm having a problem for Adobe Captivate 4 to Word 2003 editing.  I followed all the steps to create the file:

  1. Open an Adobe Captivate project.

  2. Select file > publish.

  3. In the dialog box to publish, select print.

  4. The title of the project, enter the name without the file name extension (.doc).

  5. In folder, enter the full path for the folder in which to save the file, or click Browse to locate the folder.

  6. Select an export range. The export range consists of the slides that you want to export to Word. You can select all slides, the current slide, a selection, or a range of slides.

  7. In Type, select handouts.

  8. Choose from the following document layout options: Use Tables In The Output, slides per Page, caption text, add blank lines for Notes, etc.

  9. When you are finished, click on publish.

The problem occurs when I open the Word doc - all slide notes and info is there, but the images themselves are not in the Word doc.  I tried the publication as a Storyboard, the lesson, alms and step by step - the problem occurs in all scenarios.

Thank you!

Hello

Maybe you already checked, but I didn't read it in your ad: in the document layout Options, you only went off "include objects and Question slides? These objects are all of the "Graphic" things like images, captions (not the text in the captions), drawings...

  • Number of Word 2003

While working on a document in Word 2003, my cursor flashes continually cursor hourglass and back to cursor. Also, when I use the arrow keys to move the cursor, the cursor jumps to different sections of the document. For example. When I use the left arrow to move the cursor backward, the cursor will either jump 5-6 lines down or line 5-6. No idea how to stop this?

    Hello Rob 1414.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Forum.

Is your only problem in Word 2003 or in any application?

Most of the time, you will see problems with the cursor jumps because of the sensitivity of the mouse.
So first I try and see if the speed or sensitivity of the mouse will help with your problem.

It's a laptop with a touchscreen? The usual reason is that the touchpad is hypersensitive and simulates a mouse click.
You should be able to desensitize the touchpad or disable the option to click under the touchpad. These settings are usually
shown as an applet in the control panel.

You can also try and see if you have word wrap active, as a test, try to disable it temporarily and see if there is an improvement.

Please post back with your findings and let us know if it helped to solve your problem.

    Sincerely,

  • Page numbers appear as 5 1 and 2 of 2121 in a PDF file created from a Word 2003 document

Merge us several Word 2003 documents into 1 larger document that we have and then convert to PDF format.  In the Word document page numbers display correctly - 1 of 21, 21 2, 21 3, etc.  We then convert this merged to PDF document by double-clicking the file name and choose "Convert to Adobe PDF".  For those of us with Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.1.3, page numbers in the converted PDF file display as 1 of 1, 2, 1... 21 of 1.  Those with Acrobat Professional 8.1.3, they appear as 1 of 21, 2121 2, 3 of 212121, etc., each page by adding another number of total pages in total.  There is no change in the result if using v8.0.0 or 8.1.4 anyone have ideas?

Open the Word document merged and printing to the Adobe PDF printer worked!

We had tried to launch Acrobat and create the PDF that elsewhere, but there was no difference. Never thought to try to print to the PDF printer...

I'll also try the upgrade of my office for 2007 and see if that solves the problem, allowing us to "convert to PDF".

Thank you very much for your help, Bill.

  • MS Word 2003 - highlighting of problem

Hi, I have a problem with Word 2003, I have in the Office 03 pro edition.

When I drag the text in selection, type something and does not replace it, it pastes just the new text in front of the selection. Pressing return back also is not delete it. the only way to remove the text is struck Del before typing anything to select. I tried to put my office to repair CD back in and hit, and I tried to hit reinstall (which replaces all files and probably the registry data without having to uninstall first, it no differently to a new installation done work around the stuff of product keys and go to the validation of the previous installation), but after one of the people the problem is still there.

If someone had a similar problem or did someone knows a solution?

A similar problem happened on my laptop and it was only a problem of setting.
If the Overtype option is activated in the word the text will be supplanted (deleted) during the strike.
If you want to use this option, you will need to enable it. The option is called short OVR.

If you want to learn more about this similar function I advise to use the help option that is located above the toolbar.

  • Problem with the registration of a Microsoft Publisher Document

I encountered a problem with save a Microsoft Publisher document in PDF format.  I built the file with color photographs and then recorded then I changed inside page photography photographs black and white and registered with the designation of BW in the title.  I have the file in two forms: one is full color, and the second is a combination of color and black and white.  When I save the file with the black and white photos inside as a PDF, it saves as color.  No matter what I do, they keep coming to the top of color.

I spent more than an hour in a meeting with Microsoft Technical Support, and pointed towards Adobe as having the problem.

The file with photographs n & B are sent to an external commercial printer.  We cannot do printing in full color, and when they print the color and b & w, they look terrible.

So he comes to solve the problem with saving the file in PDF format.

    Can you help me?

I thinI think that your problem was caused by an update. Not Adobe software, not Windows, but for the Publisher. Logical, since the Publisher deploys the file. Here is a discussion Community of Microsoft . Best of all, Microsoft have a new fix for this, apparently. Make sure you know how to check the version of Publisher you run and decide if you want the automatic updates to it.

After I exported a PDF (written in Hebrew) in a Word document, the Word document is written in mirror writing, how can I solve this problem?

This is a known bug in Acrobat. The conversion of PDF to Office documents was never designed to deal properly with the languages from right to left like Hebrew, Arabic and Farsi. There is no work around at this point.

  • the documents become read-only when I download a document in word 2007

I'm losing my mind on that, and it's impact on my work (and income). I have windows vista and word 2003, excel 2003 on my laptop. Whenever I have download a word 2007 document (I don't even register on my computer, just download it), ALL of my word and excel docs permutation for 2007!

    They become read-only!
I have to solve this problem as soon as possible, as I have so many docs that I need to access and change for various reasons that are related to employment.
    Help, please!
A version of Word 2007 came with the computer, for a trial period. I used it and never sent payment for the product key. I wonder how much it would cost? But anyway, I don't want to buy 2007 when 2010 is out. I probably still have the same problem with the docs 2007 reconfiguration to 2010 docs.

Well, I think I have your situation sorted.

You should go to the Control Panel programs and features and uninstall the Word 2007 Home and student if it is a trial. Uninstall the 2007 activation assistant as well. Restart the computer.
After the computer comes back up, get back in programs and features and perform a repair on your Office 2003 Professional. This involves the selection Office 2003 Pro and clicking change above the list of programs. On the first screen, select repair , and then click continue at the bottom right. Go through the process normally, clicking Next or OK as required.

This repair procedure will restore all your associations default file for the Office 2003 programs.

  • Word blocks middle of creation of PDF - Word 2003 Acrobat 9.3.0

I have a new PC and a clean new installation of CS5 Design Permuim, including 9 Arobat. The organization is still using Office 2003 and no path upgrade in sight for this. Myself and several colleagues with the same profile of software are currently experiencing frequent problems with Word crashing. PDF creation environment

This has always been a problem with the ocassional Word file in Acrobat 8, but the Distiller has always worked as an alternative - NOT this time!

PDF Maker gives no error message, just that Word has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Distiller produces the following message, and then completely freezes. Then I have to force quit Word to leave!

%% [Warning: PostScript error.] No PDF file produced. ] %%
    _______________________________________________________

Not all documents are affected, but I can remove almost all of the content of the infected document and it always causes the error.

I tried to repair Acrobat - no change.

Another strange symptom - after each accident, the default printer on the computer has changed in Adobe PDF format.

I can do successfulkly the PDF document on another computer that has not been upgraded to Acrobat 9. The rest of the settings are the same on both machines, they run both an environment standard organization, with the same verion of the word etc.

Can anyone suggest how to fix or at least isolate the cause of the problem?

Please update to the latest version of Acrobat 9 which is 9.4.2.

    (a) office 2003 flavor: Standard or professional?

    (b) OS flavor? Also if it is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Also, as you have mentioned that "not all documents are affected", so we would need one of your file assigned to analyze the issue. Can you please share the file? You can use acrobat.com to share the file.

  • Export the project to Word 2003 - error

I have difficulties to export Word documents my Captivate project so my subject matter experts can verify the content and provide feedback.

The error is attached. Any ideas on how to fix? Help, please.

    Hi again

I am at a loss to explain why the documents printing option is a failure. Of course, I used Word 2003 to do before without problem. (Now, I use Word 2007)

Out of curiosity, are you able to use the export option? Have you tried?

Click file > export > captions and subtitles project

My gut says that you will probably see the same behavior. For some reason, it seems that Captivate just for some reason is not 'feel' Microsoft Word on your system. But certainly, it won't hurt to try.

Something weird about your Setup? For example, oh we use Word, but it's a copy shared on a Citrix server. Something like that.

    See you soon... Rick
