  Original title: how remove the files from Word 2003 0 Kb which can not be read - file cleaner empty and an empty folder solvent do not work - "cannot read the source file or disc!

  I have a number of Word 2003 files that I'm unable to delete, since the message "Source file can not be read"appears when I try to delete.
  I have tried vacuum cleaner and Remover empty folder, also delete - file but cannot delete what cannot be recognized. Can anyone help please? Must be an easy way to do what I forgot, because I can't send files that contain some of these bulk files in my backup hard drive, the process stops when it reaches the 0 kb file!

  This can happen if the file is used by some programs / demand or is corrupt.

  Merge us several Word 2003 documents into 1 larger document that we have and then convert to PDF format.  In the Word document page numbers display correctly - 1 of 21, 21 2, 21 3, etc.  We then convert this merged to PDF document by double-clicking the file name and choose "Convert to Adobe PDF".  For those of us with Adobe Acrobat Standard 8.1.3, page numbers in the converted PDF file display as 1 of 1, 2, 1... 21 of 1.  Those with Acrobat Professional 8.1.3, they appear as 1 of 21, 2121 2, 3 of 212121, etc., each page by adding another number of total pages in total.  There is no change in the result if using v8.0.0 or 8.1.4 anyone have ideas?

  We had tried to launch Acrobat and create the PDF that elsewhere, but there was no difference. Never thought to try to print to the PDF printer...

  I'll also try the upgrade of my office for 2007 and see if that solves the problem, allowing us to "convert to PDF".

  Hi, I have a problem with Word 2003, I have in the Office 03 pro edition.

  When I drag the text in selection, type something and does not replace it, it pastes just the new text in front of the selection. Pressing return back also is not delete it. the only way to remove the text is struck Del before typing anything to select. I tried to put my office to repair CD back in and hit, and I tried to hit reinstall (which replaces all files and probably the registry data without having to uninstall first, it no differently to a new installation done work around the stuff of product keys and go to the validation of the previous installation), but after one of the people the problem is still there.

  A similar problem happened on my laptop and it was only a problem of setting.
  If the Overtype option is activated in the word the text will be supplanted (deleted) during the strike.
  If you want to use this option, you will need to enable it. The option is called short OVR.

  If you want to learn more about this similar function I advise to use the help option that is located above the toolbar.

• Is it possible to have the number of words together to always display?

  I use the statistics feature a lot of Pages and I think in a previous version, it was still visible. Now whenever I go to or create a different document that I have to manually switch to the view / display Word Count - go further down in the document, and then switch the display of 'character' to display 'words '.

  Is there a way to control this so the number of words on 'words' is the default view for any document I'm working with? Terminal command?

  You should always express what specific version of Pages with OS X that you are currently running. You can actually receive a community response more precise and punctual.

  There is no way to "sticky" user configurable to force Pages v5 on always display a number of words. It was a preferences: General option in Pages ' 09.

  Pages remembers a lot about your last use of it and stores this information in its list of preference file. When you choose the view menu: Show Word Count, the default is to show the characters in the bottom floating panel. This group contains each element with an integer value, that it stores in a variable update in the preferences file. When you change the characters, words, this value is updated and stored in the list of preference file. The next time that you are using Pages, he remembers this last variable parameter, and the floating panel shows words rather than characters. It is my experience test here.

  Pages do not count words in objects such as text boxes, shapes, tables etc.

  These results in the text file, were manually typed in a test report, which is a Word document with tables, but I have now created a macro in word 2003 that can take the results to the text file and added to the precise lines and columns in my word test report file.

• Unlocking from a form in Word 2003

  I started to create a form in Word 2003, it sent an e-mail to a friend to do a quick test drive and managed to block me on my own file.  The form toolbar icons are not accessible, so it is not a problem with switching between design mode or not and the lock button is dimmed to where it does not give me access.  What should I do? I have to start over again? Help!

  Try the following a.

  We will empty the download folder & then try again measured.

  Start > type cmd > and press enter

  type in
  net stop wuauserv 

  Go to Windows Explorer.
  Look on your system (usually C) drive and see the name of the Windows folder. Like Windows or WINNT.
  Edit following as appropriate.
  If your Windows folder is C:\Windows.  Look at this file
  C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\download

  If you find files in there, remove them.  This file is where the Windows Update files are stored downloads.

  Return to the command prompt window.
  type in
  net start wuauserv 

  OUTPUT

  Reboot & then run manually check the updates in Windows Update, etc, etc...
  When you get to Windows Update, a custom scan updates. Take (accept) those marked critical or Important.
  Those that are marked as "optional" decline.
  NET Framework or Silverlight updates offered, select not them & the other (do all .NET Framework or Silverlight updates in separate tracks).
   
  Have infinite patience so that it scans and it's work.
   
  When you are prompted to restart Windows, please do. Allow it to restart.

  If and only IF there is another failure, then let's you use NOTEPAD & doing research in the Windows Update log (using Notepad)
  usually at C:\Windows\Windowsupdate.log or C:\WINNT\Windowsupdate.log
   
  Copy and paste here the last 60 lines out of this newspaper, for review.
  Go to end of the log of the last entries and get ratings of the error.
