  My first post. I have Toshiba laptop with end of Chicony USB 2.0 Camera camera built-in, there a blue light. I put t want this blue light when I open the messenger or ICQ and talking with one my girlfriend. The blue light is turn on and I don t like it.

  As far as I know the blue light can t be disabled and it will show if the webcam is used.
  If you use a Messenger you use the webcam too?

  Normally if you write only with one person in the blue Messenger is not light. On my Satellite L300, I also use ICQ, but I don't see the blue light that if I use the webcam.

  I recently purchased satellite C660-1PH and I have a problem with my webcam. When I use Skype the image of me is blurred.

  Any ideas? I looked fot the webcam settings and these are all the default ones.
  What do I have to uninstall and reinstall the drivers from scratch?

  In my case, the protective film has been mounted on the front of the cam.
  I removed it and the photo quality was much better.

  I have Toshiba A305 and my camera has suddenly stopped working. At first, I thought that it was the driver but I updated the driver and now it says that the device is disconnected! • Satellite Pro S300 - support poor driver Chicony USB 2.0 Camera

  Driver Chicony camera isn't very good and has a bug. When you use something like Messenger Live you can not activate the 'night Mode' using the advanced settings of video that the parameter is not present in the pages of the adjustment. You can set "night" Mode on the camera Assistant software, but this has no effect when the device works on Messenger Live.

  "Night mode" is almost essential for indoor use typical Chicony camera and without it, the picture is very dark and not otherwise usable.

  If I use a Logitech camera, it is driver exposes much better settings in Messenger Live, which is equivalent to "night mode".

  It this something Toshiba can feed at Chicony and get some better drivers?

  I managed to get the night mode working in Messenger.

  (1) start Messenger and sign in to your contact and start sharing webcam as usual.
  (2) launch the support in the menu and camera software, select the first option to preview video. The preview is not displayed and a message appears on the camera stuck in use.
  3) click on the top of the key to the right icon, then select Properties.
  (4) if the night mode is checked, uncheck it and click on apply, then apply it, the webcam is now in mode night in Messenger.

  * Note *, go through image preview as the buggy driver software won't change the night Mode setting, if you go directly to the properties using the key icon in the menu from sliding.

  What would be nice if Toshiba got a better driver support and night mode was selectable in properties exposed in Messenger.

  The camera support and driver Chicony is one of the worst I've seen included in a laptop.

  I checked the drivers and they work, I have 10 Diretcx and it works.

  You should check if the webcam has been chosen correctly in Skype video settings.

  If this does not work, uninstall the 5.5.0.117 version of the system, reboot the laptop, clean the registry using CCleaner (freeware tool) and then after reboot again to install the 5.5.0.117 again if not check the 5.5.0.114 a version that worked correctly in the past.

• Built in camera Chicony USB no longer works on laptop Satellite A200

  All of a sudden, the built-in in my laptop Satellite A200 Chicony USB webcam has stopped working - it was going very well about 6 weeks ago, but now it's as if he has actually disappeared from the laptop. The camera does not even on devices such as equipment manager - there is no single category of imaging devices (unless I am also connected to our printer/scanner).   In all this history it's strange this webcam is not listed in Device Manager.
  In my opinion, you should do a final test to check the operation of the equipment, if you want to install the OS by using recovery DVDs.

  With own factory and OS preinstalled settings, you can check the operation of the equipment and see if the cam will work or not.
  If the problem will be the same I'm almost sure it's related to the faulty webcam.
