  The Solution:

  Please note that the password switch is in the lower right corner of the Board of Directors very close to all of the SATA connectors and it's well hidden.  The CMOS switch is more located in the room near the battery and pretty easy to find.

  I made three different operations all very similar, but something seems to do the trick.

  First of all, I followed the manufacturer's instructions to clear the bios password.  Then I repeated the procedure with the machine plugged but POWERED down.  (Be careful here) Someone had mentioned the need for a residual current clear the password, and because the case was open I tried anyway. During this procedure, I managed to drop the small plastic connector and I was unable to recover after 20 minutes that my case has access by only one side.  The switch clear Bios should be left open.  That is to say, he didn't have plastic connector on any of the 3 pins.

  I've run procedures one after another to clear the bios password without having to restart the machine...

  I'm not sure what actually deleted the password, but I now have full access to the bios.

  Press F1 at startup to get into the bios, you will be asked to enter your passwords. Select the Security menu, then select the menu password, hard drive password can be changed here. After selecting the pw of hd, that you want to change you enter the current pw, and then a new twice each time confirm with the Enter key.

  I apologize for the inconvenience that was done to you. Let me see if I can help. I suggest the initialization of the device to its default settings to solve the problem.   Just bought a Officejet Pro 8600.  Problems to set up the fax.  Have an answering machine in another part of the House but Home Office machine.  Telephone cable provided is not long enough to reach the machine.  Have you tried another (older) cord - (are there differences between the telephone cords?).  Can I configure the fax even though we have an answering machine in another part of the House?  How do we set number of rings so the answering machine will always pick up (currently at 4 rings) and fax works as well?  Appreciate all the help - thanks in advance.

  Your answering machine must be directly connected with the LINE 2 of the fax. Your phone line (outlet) will go straight into the LINE 1 of the fax.

  Your phone will be connected to the answering machine. That's how your fax, answering machine, and phone all would work. If you have configured this way, you need to define your RINGS to ANSWER (fax - TWO RINGS THAN the answering machine). So if your answering machine is 4, make your fax (6).

  I am running Win 7 Home premium x 64, and both accounts were set up. A named Jamie had administrator privileges, the other named Guest had few privileges and a regular user account. I need to swop the privileges. Jamie is now the regular and guest user account has administrator privileges.

  You must stop using the guest user account as soon as possible. The guest account is designed to be used by a person who wants the owner of the computer to allow the use of the computer temporarily.
