Problem updating app workspace Sprout

The HP Support Assistant said that there is an update to the workspace to germinate. It downloads ok, but when installing, Norton Internet Security indicates that it contains a virus. I also get a dialog stating "there was a problem starting c:\windows\installer\msi78a.tmp. Access denied» Then NIS opens and won't run.  Whenever I try to download and install the file name changes.

I saw the designation of "Rev A", but because the file was dated April 9, and the HPSA and the location of the support stated that I "updated", I did not download it.

Even though I prefer Norton, I got with her prior false positives with downloads from other sites.

I'll give it a shot anyway!  Just to relax after a LOT of yardwork today...

EDIT: I downloaded the file on the site and said to use the HPSA to install it.  He tried, but failed due to the fact that I neglected to follow the signs for "close all applications and save all the files before proceeding.  blush <>

Tried again, this time close IE and any other application installed and running fine and rebooted.

I suggest you turn off NIS during installation.  Run a full scan later in order to ease the worries.

    As long as you have changed e-mail address * location ID and the id not create a new ID - settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID (tap the ID that shows) > Sign Out. Then log in with the ID changed.

    My desktop computer with Windows 8.1 HP says that it has been updated apps this morning for about 10 minutes. Never seen that before. The entire screen changed colors as I associate the colors of the subway.     I thought I had a fix. I get to the logon screen with my photo. Ther right there is an icon of power. If you hold SHIFT and restart it goes to troubleshooting. I've tried everything. I connect (with the flash is connected) and YAHOOODY everything is back. My office job and complete. I thought a lot. I ran several spyware programs, did a restore and released the flash player.  Rebooted and the same problem I'm talking about in the above paragraph.

    Since it was not all the responses from 4 different forums I decided to bite the bullet and do the first factory restore on this PC for the new 2 years ago. Hated only ti, but no other options. All files have been / are saved on USB and drive Google and OneDrive 40gig. Just hated to lose all programs and configurations.

    I ran into the problem last night where I could not install, reinstall, or update all apps in the Windows store.  I'm still under Windows 8 and 8.1 not for reasons known but that is for another place.
    This problem took me a day to find and troubleshoot, ALLL and I mean about 8 solid hours.  The error codes I received kept windows pointing store of problems with Windows Update or other corruptions of system, but after all of these solutions and executed the partner checks several times nothing was wrong with my Windows Update.  I would have guessed considering how I could still download updates from MS very well.
    What solved MY problem (and I bet that most of your establishments), was actually a file permissions issue.  There are TWO, count them 2 folders that you should be sure your username has full permissions.  I saw there of the patches that speak on one or the other, but you need BOTH.  Here is the path to these files file: (remember 'C' is my root drive, is the name of each user on the system, and if you have customized your installation of windows, or the location of the user folder, you must change this path to match)
    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps
    \AppData\Local\Packages C:\Users\
    Before you follow this procedure, access the Windows store and cancel all pending installations (or omitted).
    To set the permissions: (if at any time, the system asks the permission of the administrator, you must grant it)
    1. make sure that you logged in with an administrator account.
    2. open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Program FIles.
    3. Locate the file WindowsApps (all the way down)
    NOTE: this is a hidden folder, so do not forget, you go to the top of the window and click on the 'View' tab, then check the box next to "Hidden items" in the Show/Hide section.
    4. right click on the WindowsApps file and choose "Properties".
    5. click on the security"" tab.
    6. click on the button "Advanced".
    7.1 if your username is listed in the list under entity double-click on it (otherwise go to 7.2)
    7.1 a - ensure the Type: is 'Allow' and the applies to: is "this folder, subfolders and files.
    7.1 b - click the full control checkbox
    7.1.c - click OK
    7.2 If your username is not listed, click on the button "Add" below the list (you may need to click on 'Edit' to the 'Add' button to appear)
    7.2 a - click on "Select a main" link at the top.
    7.2 b-"Advanced", click on "find now".
    7.2 c - book here your user name in the list and double-click on it
    7.2d - click OK
    7.2E - ensure the Type: is 'Allow' and the applies to: is "this folder, subfolders and files.
    7.2f - click the full control checkbox
    7.2.g - click OK
    8. you should now see your username in the list of the "Advanced Security Settings for WindowsApps" with "Full control" in the access column (if you do not, go back to 7.1 or 7.2 and carefully follow the steps once again).  Click OK
    9 go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local
    NOTE: AppData is a hidden folder, so be sure you have the "Hidden items" box checked
    10. right click on the WindowsApps file and choose "Properties".
    11. click on the security"" tab.
    12. click on the button "Advanced".
    13 follow the same procedure in steps 7.1 or 7.2 to add your username to the list to this folder with full control permissions.

    . Restart your computer.
    That's it, once your computer restarts, you should be able to use the store Windows to install applications and updates.
    Once you confirm that it works for you, I recommend you to create an image of the master volume of your Windows System.  All this happened to me while I was trying to get everything set up initially, but once you do, using the image as a good quick a good known Configuration reboot is a MUCH faster way to solve many problems with Windows... SAME A WAY TO GO BACK to Windows 8 Windows 8.1 IF YOU FIND THE NEED. I KNOW I DID!

    I just bought a new laptop Asus X550C and out of the box yesterday. It was equipped with Windows 8 and like any new laptop, there also 99 updates that must take place. I tried, I opened the box to update, but it won't do anything. This includes Windows 8 updates, app and windows 8.1 updates. I can't download new applications without making updates and I can't download Windows 8.1 without the updates of Windows 8. My all new laptop is so pretty useless. The update screen would be just load forever until I had to turn it off. (I've been waiting for hours, in order to give him more time won't help) A few times I managed to get to half way through, but a mistake is still being produced. I have tried rebooting to configure the updates that have happened, but I got the message "configuration of the Windows updates failed.

    In other forums, I read to do a system update, which is ironic given that the computer just out the box yesterday... I did it right and was able to download and install all updates of 99, but when I reset it, I got "failed to set up" message again. Who has been here for about an hour now.

    I was not able to take advantage of the new laptop that I bought because it has been in the installation, configuration, or returning from the screens because I got it. The laptop itself is amazing, but the Windows program did bring me sorrow.

    Generally, this problem is caused because of third-party or due to corruption or missing files in Windows Update components or programs due to the use of any other web browser by default.

    As a first step, I suggest you to disconnect all other external devices that the mouse connected to your computer and then try to install the updates.

    I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

    Try the steps in the following Microsoft Support article and check if it helps.

    I have a HP Dv7 6197 ca with the same card as you, then here is how you fix this problem: update your BIOS to the latest version, and then in the BIOS screen (press ESC, then select the Bios Setup) and change the setting for the Graphics Mode fixed to Dynamics. This should solve your problem. If you can't find this option in the BIOS update, then try the UBR tool in the installer of UNIFIL. I suggest try F840 and F940 values.

    If the resolution is all wonky after you go into the BIOS, you will need to re - install the drivers.
