I tried to change the access privileges for this file, gel itunes and reinstall, etc., but it does not work.

General advice for troubleshooting when iTunes is unable to properly install (and reinstall or repair it does not) are to remove not only iTunes, but ALL the components, restart, remove the target installation files and reinstall.  See the excellent iTunes to turingtest2 Windows Troubleshooting Guide at:

  • Update iTunes 11.1.4 corrumpted files on Windows 8

I've never had a problem updating ITunes on my PC in Windows 8. But now, I tried everything without success.

When I install iTunes, Setup hangs when it cannot start the Apple Mobile Device Service. If I ignore this error and try to launch iTunes, I get a message that says that iTunes has not been installed properly Windows error 127.

To try to solve the problem, I uninstalled all the programs Apple publishes and deleted the following folders on my computer.

    C::\Program Apple

    C::\Program files (86) \Common Files\Apple

I also remove anything Apple on startup on my computer programs.

In fact, I have all these steps have done more than once, but get the same problem when I install Tunes 11.1.4. It seems a message the bonnet that MSVCR80. DLL is damaged or missing is relevant to the problem with iTunes.

I also ran a malware and antivirus scan and go without success.

I'm sure that all my Windows updates are up-to-date.

I have also analysis with the Microsoft Safety Scanner and Windows Defender with no success.

I ran sfc/scannow at the command prompt and got a message that the corrupted files were found and the details have been placed in a CBS. LOG file. I tried without success to open this text file with Notepad, but get the message that I don't have sufficient security access, even if I did so that I have a FULL ACCESS to the file. So I don't know how I can fix the corrupted files.

I reinstalled the latest redistributable C++ library, but that didn't fix the problem either.

I am running Windows 8.0 Pro. I tried several times to upgrade to Windows FREE 8.1 but he's still fails with the error 0 X 80070004. This may or may not be the result of files corrupt that sfc found. My Pro 8.0 upgrade was a free upgrade to Pro 7.

I would be willing to pay for a full version of Pro 8.1, if I thought it would solve my problems.

  • Update iTunes 10 Windows problem and Solution

I have a solution that worked for me, when Apple's CEO did not all trying to update iTunes 10 Windows.  I do not claim that their solution was bad, just that it has not resolved the problem for me, but lead me to the solution that did.

The problem I had was that during the update, I would like to get the package of Windows error message that wouldn't let him proceed in process.  "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program required for this install to complete could not be run.  Contact your supplier of staff or the package of support ".

THE SOLUTION: click on the Windows icon and go to settings > system > applications and features.  Click on Apple software update > change > change > repair

Once the repair has been completed, I was able to install iTunes without any problems.

How I found this solution: I tried the recommendation to Apple for this message exact error uninstall and reinstall iTunes, who had the same error message.  The next step was to uninstall QuickTime and iTunes, then the Apple Software Update.  At this point, the Apple software update wouldn't uninstall and generated the same error of Windows package as described above.  I fixed Apple Software Update and rather than proceed with the rest of the facilities, I advanced and installed iTunes.  He worked like a champ and he saved me a bunch of times.

    Thanks Airshipguy. It really worked.

I have not tried all the recommendations of Apple support, being out of pocket for the time and also the uncertainty of losing the settings. Before you read this post, I tried to repair only iTunes. After reading the post above, I fixed all facilities Apple in a sequence such that the last of them was that of "Apple Software Update". I made this sequence intuitively and have no scientific reason.

For those who need to be more aware of 10 Windows, right click the windows button, select "Programs and features" and then search for Apple. As indicated in the post above, it's the "Apple Software Update" that did the trick.

My response was to reassure people that it works. Often, a single post does not give that confidence to give it a go!

    Hello

I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10 and now I get the message error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".
I tried to fix it too, but it has not helped, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but there has not helped either. I tried almost everything I've seen in other posts.
I use a laptop Asus series k55VJ with an original copy of Windows and has never had this problem before.

Any of you have an idea what can do?
    Thank you!

Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel, then uninstall it and then reinstall iTunes.

    Greetings Dani56777,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

I understand that you run Windows 10 and you must update iTunes to the latest version so that your iPhone will be recognized when connected. I do not know if you receive an error when you try to update iTunes or not.

If you need information on how to update iTunes, please follow the instructions in the following link.

Download the latest version of iTunes for Windows - Apple Support

If you receive an error or alert, you can consider removing iTunes and all of its associated components and then reinstalling fresh iTunes on your computer. That would give you the latest version of iTunes. If you need execute this process, please follow the steps described in the following article.

Remove iTunes Control Panel and its associated components

Use the control panel to uninstall iTunes and software components in the following order:

    1. iTunes
    2. Apple Software Update
    3. Apple Mobile Device Support
    4. Hello
    5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
    6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

On some systems, iTunes can install two versions of the Apple Application Support. What is expected. If both are present, do not forget to uninstall both versions.

Do these elements in a different order, uninstall or uninstall only some of them. This could have unintended effects. After you uninstall a component, you may be asked to restart your computer. Wait to restart your computer until you finish remove all components.

  • problems updating iPod Touch iTunes sync and lists 9.3.2,and playback on the iPod

I updated the iPod touch and iTunes and as a first step, I lost all my library because the update iTunes but that is fixed, I had back ups. But when I synced my iPod touch, I had to delete and synchronize the contents of my iPod which has ruined all my playlists in iTunes in sync because the iPod could synchronize only half of the songs because of the error 54. Who sets, restarted the laptop and iPod but because of this, the iTunes playlist had the sync iPod songs. Fixed by re sync several times, I'm always short 4 songs on my iPod to my main playlist but some songs that appear on the iPod do not play, I can choose them but they do not play then shows no played piece. When I get a song to the playlist which works module to the top next just shows that the song only, even if it has been selected by the Shuffle Playlist button. Also some songs on the iPod is not the correct album cover, I'm guessing because of error 54 *, and these songs are often unplayable. All right back on iTunes is just the iPod for now.

The following steps below should fix things, assuming that all the content you want in your library.

(If it is not see recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device).

    1. Backup device.
    2. Restoration as a new device.
    3. Restore the backup that you made earlier.

  • Problem updating iPhone with iTunes

Connected an iPhone 4s to iTunes (12.1.3.6) upgrade to iOS 9.2.1.  Apparently iTunes does not check for available disk space on the PC before starting an update. The size of the download took me (and my PC) by surprise - 1.5 gigabytes. After a very long wait for download, my system disk (c :)) became practically abandoned lots and iTunes iPhone upgrade stage complaining about insufficient disk space to perform the update (after download).)

Also, Windows became unstable due to the almost full C: drive. So I manually moved the file to update to 1.5 GB on another drive, and an additional cleaning left me with 3 GB free on C:.

Return to the update of the iPhone. I assumed that it would be a way to point to the file moved to complete the update iTunes, but I found no way to do it. All I seem to be able to do is to repeat the full download that, for many reasons, I want to avoid.

So can anyone tell how to upgrade the iPhone using the already downloaded update file?

Pouvez be able to adapt the technique given here to redirect the path to the file to update for your location.

  • Connection to the server to update iTunes on Windows 7

Hi all, grateful for the advice. I'm trying to sync my iPhone only 6 and iPod touch to my iTunes library on my Windows 7 PC. It's an older version (2012 - I can't see the exact version). The computer recognizes the devices when it is connected, but iTunes is not. Tips suggest that I should update my iTunes. However, this is where I struggle.
