Problem WET610N

Hi, I got WET610N this week and work very well.

I use it on a T, and works very well, but after a few days was inaccessible.

Then I tried to update firmware, and I had a lack of power during the process.

Result: the bridge will not respond to try to reset.

The bridge still has a purple light on power, and I can't reach configuration based on the web too.

I tried to reset several times, without success.

Can someone help me?

Thank you

I opened a chat live, yesterday with linksys, the bridge is under warranty, so I opened an RMA number and they will change the bridge.

Thank you very much, anyway, for support.

  • Problem connecting WET610N

    Hello

I just bought a Linksys WET610N bridge.  I configured to connect to my router (FIOS) wireless network.

As I've used a lot of linksys products, I used the Internet configuration to configure the SSID wireless WEP password and left everything else (so it gets the IP address of the DHCP server)

I connect it to my computer via cable, but this computer is unable to access internet/network etc.

    Other observations:

    (a) all 3 blue lights (power, wireless and ethernet are in blue)

    (b) the Verizon router config page shows the unit of bridge and reasonable computer with DHCP assigned addresses. The status of the two shows 'inactive '.

    (c) if I do ipconfig on my PC, I Autoconfiguration IP address 169.254.176.43 and subnet 255.255.0.0, no default gateway. (I tried everything, reboot etc etc. turned off.)

    (d) I am using firmware 1.0

I would be grateful if someone has solved this problem or has any ideas to try.

    Thank you!

Thanks for your quick response. I had already tried static address and it had not worked but your mention of 'identical' me in the right direction. As soon as I entered the password WEP wireless and MATCHING case too, it worked without problem.

What was thrown to me, it of that the bridge had accepted the password to lowercase and appeared on my network, even if the wired computer cannot connect. But as soon as I put the case, no problem

    Thanks again

  • Problem connecting LAN WET610N

    Hello.

I work in a hotel and am set up a bridge and a wireless access point to connect to a Point of restaurant sales to the cable network terminal.

I've done it before with other devices, but it was time to upgrade, so I went with a Cisco 1140 wireless access point and a Linksys WET610N bridge.

1140 broadcasts a password protected network. I am able to see and you connect using my wireless laptop and my smartphone.

I configured the WET610N to connect to this wireless network and gave it a static IP address to use, to keep it in the beach of my point of sale equipment.

When I use a browser to connect to the WET610N, I am able to see the current state. We can see that the bridge is configured with the IP I assigned, and the wireless network tab shows it is currently connected to the network wireless set up on Cisco 1140.

However, if I plug the Ethernet bridge into my ethernet port on my laptop, it just generates the error "No Network Access" with the network icon showing the yellow triangle. Verification of the ipconfig command, I see that I am getting a 169 IP address, not the 192. subnet range which I hope. Restarting the device doesn't help.

Based on another entry in these forums, I tried statically configure the laptop LAN to a 192 available. IP then that it was connected to the gateway. I still have the same error.

It seems odd that the State Bridge displays connected, and yet he did not give my laptop a usable IP address and allow it to connect. Searches bring up problems with the wireless connection, which doesn't seem to be my problem, as shown in the brige as connected. Even the shows 1 WAP client connected with the IP I assigned to the bridge.

So, can someone help me understand why the WET610N will not assign an IP address to all what is connected to the? I'd appreciate certainly any idea, I start to tear out my hair on it.

I tried to call tech support, incidentally, and I was told they would have to assign a team to set up my network and that it would cost $70. That doesn't seem fair to me.

    Thanks in advance!

    ~ Tom

Make sure you have the latest firmware. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/bridges/WET610N. Reset and reconfigure.

  • WET610N connection problems

Recently, I upgraded my internet service with brighthouse.  They installed a new router/bridge which is a motorola surfboard SBG6580 wireless cable modem gateway.  Previously, I used a linksys router WRT54G.  I have had and used the WET610N bridge with my Bravia TV and it worked for broadcast movies and internet content to television.  Since the installation of the new router, the WET610N is on the network, but the client cannot access the internet.  I read on static IP addresses for the bridge which I do not know how to set in the router motorola as well as the need to remove the client from the list of DHCP clients that I did.  The WET610N is on the network, assigns an IP address to the TV, and appears in the list of customer routers.  Sometimes I walk and can access internet content after sitting idle for more than 24 hours, but usually the network control on the TV shows that did not have access to the internet.  Although the WET is 30 feet from the router, the signal strength is only about 40%.  I left the unit on the 2.4 Hz band, and 802.11n - auto mode and bandwidth of 20 Mhz.  If no internet connection according to BRAVIA unless I can access widgets that requires internet, but no other internet content.  Thank you

Regarding the concern, you can try to update the firmware of the WET610N. Let me know the current version of the firmware in the WET610N? If in the WET610N firmware is an older version then enhance it with the more recent which can be downloaded from the Linksys/Cisco's Web site. After the successful firmware update you must reset the WET610N. It is recommended to reset the WET610N once. Steps to reset the WET610N:

Press the reset button on WET610N 30 seconds, turn off the WET610N wait 30 seconds and then turn it on. Power light should blink when you perform the reset process.

After reset, reconfigure the WET610N and then check the connectivity status...

  • The low signal strength WET610N

My WET610N is on a 5 GHz wireless network and is located about 30 feet from my router (Netgear C3700) with a line of direct sight.  The 5 GHz network uses channel 11 operation up to 145Mbs.  The WET610N shows a signal strength of 28%.  My laptop wireless, running "WiFi channel Scanner" is positioned near the WET610N and shows the signal strength 85% on the same 5 GHz network.

A Speedtest.net test on the laptop computer watch ~ 60Mbs speeds on a connection from Time Warner ISP download 100Mbs.  The WET610N, running the same test of Speedtest.net shows only the 5Gbs of download speeds.

The intensity of the signal would be the cause for the lower results of speedtest?  Wireless Setup is not that many configuration options.  Which parameters can affect the intensity of the WET610N signal?

BTW, I tried the same tests on the network wireless 2.4 GHz, with similar results.

OK, I just made a major discovery, but I'm still not sure on how to correct what I discovered.

On a whim, I unplugged my desktop computer, which is a system 8.1 of Windows, the WET610N and plugged my laptop, which is still under Windows 7.  When I ran the test, Speedtest.net, my laptop registered 97Mbps download speeds!

Thus, it seems that the WET610N works beautifully and it's something on my desktop does not work properly.  I recently upgraded to the Windows 7 Desktop to Windows 8.1, and I remember very well that the network provided quickly enough before the upgrade.  Maybe it's the network on Windows 8.1 driver.

Anyway, I guess I should mark this issue as resolved, since this is obviously not a problem with the WET610N.  If anyone has any advice about network speed using Windows 8.1, your answer would be approciated.

  • WET610N won't get an IP

    Hello

I've seen this problem elsewhere on this forum but has decided to post a new thread because the most recent I could find was almost 2 years ago.

I have a 610N which worked very well.  The other day, she lost her IP.  I did a factory reset, and he continues to claim it has network connection Wireless in my house, but he will not get an IP address.

I tried to resolve an IP address to the 610N nothing helps.  I tried to set the same IP by MAC address on the router, and it offers over and over again:

    Thu, February 13, 2014 07:29:13 DISCOVER from 98:FC:11:A90:4 A

Yet the 610N won't change his IP.  This seems to be a defect of the product.  Cisco/Linksys will do aynthing about that?

Turns out always be something 'stupid '.

Although other devices receiving IP very well, I turned on chromecast today and he said it was connected, but none of my devices it would be.  So I rebooted my router.  Now the WET610N and Chromecast can be seen.

Difficulty - always try to restart each device in the chain before going to forums.  Thank you!

  • Help with E3000N connected with WAP610N and WET610N

    I have a 3000 router and a WAP610N with a WET610N.

    1. the router and AP have a different SSID?  I currently have to connect to another to get from one place to another in my house.

    2. where it has been implemented tech put the access point 2.4 GHz with range of 5 GHz in gray.  This means that the device only works with 2.4 GHz?  I thought it was a double feature of ban.  Greyed out in parahrase info information I see the button on the device and not my network password as indicated in the information of 2.4 GHz.

    3. I can not connect with my ipad on the second connection unless I use a static IP address.  The ipad does not always reminds the static configuration as well so that I have to get all this information to connect to the internet via the access point.  She shows a strong Wifi with excellent resistance but does not connect.  I noticed that he chooses an IP address that begins with 169 instead of 192 in DHCP mode.  Also, it doesn't have the address for the router, just an empty line.  I have no problems connecting to the original installation of Wifi (the one with the router).  The initial problem was the range of the E3000N.  My House is only 32 feet wide and I get a signal rooms low only 2 in the linear sense.  I tried to improve it with the WAP610N and the WET610N.  Both were suggested by technical support.  The firmware is already reflashed and changed settings on several occasions by technical support.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you, Louise

Thank you for your suggestions, but this has not worked for me.

As soon as I changed the name of the AP for the name of the router, I had conflicts.

I have been unable to solve it myself as I could no longer access the configuration page for the access point or bridge.

After 2 hours with a very patient man, I am now able to use my system again.  He had to reset the two devices and the re - set.

It seems to work as expected for the moment.  I don't have to use the static IP settings in my I - Pad.

Thanks again for your contribution.  I appreciate the responses.

  • WET610N won't stay connected to WRT600N

I currently have a new WET610N, which is used as a bridge to a WRT600N access point.  The WET610N constantly disconnects the WRT600N & to re - connect only if the WET610N is rolled power.

Based on the calendar of her disconnect, which occur independently of whether the traffic runs actively on the wireless bridge, it seems that the connection has failed at the time that a new wireless key is supposed to be negotiated.

Both devices are running the latest firmware & have WPA2-Personal with AES for security installation.  The key shared between the two devices is a 26 character hexadecimal value to prevent dictionary style attacks.  Since both devices are the initial connection, the problem doesn't seem to be with the key or security settings.  If the question was there, then the devices would not connect at all.

Because I don't have a wireless sniffer that can capture traffic using the "N" standard, I can't understand exactly what happens when a failure occurs.

If anyone else has this problem, please provide your comments on what you have the WET610N paired with & what settings are used for the communication.  With this information, we can refine if all goes well where the issue is in the WET610N or configuration.

    Thank you.

    By my first post:

I just actually a resolution of the question regarding disconnect it.  The resolution highlights something doesn't work is not properly in the WRT600N firmware.

I loaded the DD - WRT firmware on the WRT600N "Mega" & the connection working perfectly since last night.

  • WAG320n to WRT610n connection helps WET610n bridge ethernet

I have upgraded my network with a modem/router WAG320n and have a (ethernet bridge) WET610n in my room remotely.  Because the WET is just a single port, I would like to connect my old WRT610n router to bridge, but need to know the right settings and connection information.  The goal is to use wireless in the remote location and additional ports.

    Problem solved and improved

    Thanks Klatch,

The WAG320n is nice, but not simultaneous dual band, so I put the 5 GHz.  I wired hard (WAP610n) one point of access to the router, set it to 2. 4 Ghz and placed about 3 meters outside the router.  This gave me access to the second floor for all devices with two bands.  (I have given it's own SSID to distinguish it from the access point).

To extend coverage to the first floor, I installed Ethernet bridge Wireless N (WET610N) on the beach at the fringe of my output of routers (still 4 bars).  The bridge is set to 5 GHz - because what is the WAG320.  Then I connected the router WRT610N (which is simultaneous dual band) to the bridge.  You plug the bridge into a LAN on the WRT610N, NOT the WAN port port.  The WRT610 has been programmed to 192.168.1.2, disabled DHCP, NAT disabled.  I have 3 other hard WAN ports connected to devices (Playstation, Slingbox, Blue Ray player).  All other PC first floor is connected wirelessly via the 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHz bands.  The coverage of the first floor is excellent.   I held the different SSID for each router and Access Point, to distinguish which router or the band I want to connect to.

If linksys has been only the simultaneous dual-band of WAG320, it would provide the extension of coverage to all old and new features!    Everyone is not wrapped around 5 GHz yet!  Then.  If you want to extend and use another router as Repeater (wireless), you need an Ethernet Bridge (or wireless game adapter) to the main router and connect to the secondary router.   Everything can be done with a little effort.  Thank you

  • Network Magic cannot discover a "BEFSR41" router behind a "WET610N" wireless bridge

Just upgraded to a WRT610N 2 version in my office.  He pulls an IP address from my cable router and distributes IP addresses (this is setup for DHCP) without problem.  I need to extend the home network to another part of the House so I took 2 x WET610N wireless bridges.  Since many devices will have to use the bridge I'll recycle my BEFSR41 as a switch.  I have the router configuration and bridge; the bridge connects to the port "uplink" on the router, and the DHCP has been disabled on the router.  But when I run Network Magic BEFSR41 router cannot find the other side of the bridge.  Any ideas?

You need this post in the section Network Magic from this forum.  If the router acts as a switch, it will be transparent and not e seen.

  • Matching WRT610N with WET610N

I think to install a WRT610N in my living room to my existing DSL.  My desktop computer is upstairs and I know that I have coverage problems in my home.  I thought that I could connect my desktop computer to a WET610N and best performance on a wireless signal for the WRT610N on the double band of 5 GHz.  I also have a legacy laptop using 802. 11B.  Thank you...

You can configure WET610N and WRT610N... After you have configured, both will communicate wirelessly between them more than 5 GHz band.

  • Ethernet WET610N Bridge: How to set up Mac OS 9?

    Hey there,

I hope some of you can help me with my problem. I'm not exactly in this kind of thing and you'd be grateful for any help. Here's my problem: I always use a maxed out Macintosh iBook G3 with Mac OS 9.2.2 for office, internet and games. Unfortunately due to his old map Airport, it can only connect to free or WEP networks, that is why I decided to buy the Ethernet of Linksys WET610N Wireless N bridge. The plan is to connect my iBook through the WET610N with encrypted network WPA here. Unfortunately, I'm totally lost after unpacking.

The manual doesn't say anything on a Macintosh (not even Mac OSX) installation. The site provides no help either, at least I couldn't access anything be it useful. The CD-ROM ("insert the first CD"!) is useless to me, because it contains only Windows software. (would have been nice if that would have been mentioned somewhere...). I think it's a bit irritating because this package was hailed as being easy to use with Windows, Macintosh and Linux machines.

Just now, I don't know how to configure the Ethernet bridge without using the installer. I suppose there's a way to access the menu manually, but how can it be done? The manual contains no information on this alternative configuration method, and as I said, I don't have a degree in computer science and have trouble finding my way through...

If anyone of you could help me, I would really appreciate
