WAG320n to WRT610n connection helps WET610n bridge ethernet

I have upgraded my network with a modem/router WAG320n and have a (ethernet bridge) WET610n in my room remotely.  Because the WET is just a single port, I would like to connect my old WRT610n router to bridge, but need to know the right settings and connection information.  The goal is to use wireless in the remote location and additional ports.

Problem solved and improved

Thanks Klatch,

The WAG320n is nice, but not simultaneous dual band, so I put the 5 GHz.  I wired hard (WAP610n) one point of access to the router, set it to 2. 4 Ghz and placed about 3 meters outside the router.  This gave me access to the second floor for all devices with two bands.  (I have given it's own SSID to distinguish it from the access point).

To extend coverage to the first floor, I installed Ethernet bridge Wireless N (WET610N) on the beach at the fringe of my output of routers (still 4 bars).  The bridge is set to 5 GHz - because what is the WAG320.  Then I connected the router WRT610N (which is simultaneous dual band) to the bridge.  You plug the bridge into a LAN on the WRT610N, NOT the WAN port port.  The WRT610 has been programmed to 192.168.1.2, disabled DHCP, NAT disabled.  I have 3 other hard WAN ports connected to devices (Playstation, Slingbox, Blue Ray player).  All other PC first floor is connected wirelessly via the 2.4 GHZ or 5 GHz bands.  The coverage of the first floor is excellent.   I held the different SSID for each router and Access Point, to distinguish which router or the band I want to connect to.

If linksys has been only the simultaneous dual-band of WAG320, it would provide the extension of coverage to all old and new features!    Everyone is not wrapped around 5 GHz yet!  Then.  If you want to extend and use another router as Repeater (wireless), you need an Ethernet Bridge (or wireless game adapter) to the main router and connect to the secondary router.   Everything can be done with a little effort.  Thank you

  • Help: wet610n will not connect to wrt610n when the ssid broadcast is disabled

I have a wet610n wirteless bridge linking very well with my router wrt610n broadcast ssid is enabled on the router, but when I turn it off then (the rest unchanged), the wet610n can not connect.

    What I am doing wrong?

Or require the wet610n ssid will be broadcast (I didn't read that anywhere)?

    Thank you

I have power cycled it, but I tried again and then experienced little more after you reset the wet610n and reconfiguring again.

What seems to work, is to allow the broadcast of the SSID of the router and leaving the wet610n bridge wireless connection. So I can turn off the broadcast of the SSID and power cycle the wet610n and it can then connect.

Without the first activation of SSID and connected, the bridge connects wireless.

Thank you - it is "resolved".

  • Problem connecting LAN WET610N

    Hello.

I work in a hotel and am set up a bridge and a wireless access point to connect to a Point of restaurant sales to the cable network terminal.

I've done it before with other devices, but it was time to upgrade, so I went with a Cisco 1140 wireless access point and a Linksys WET610N bridge.

1140 broadcasts a password protected network. I am able to see and you connect using my wireless laptop and my smartphone.

I configured the WET610N to connect to this wireless network and gave it a static IP address to use, to keep it in the beach of my point of sale equipment.

When I use a browser to connect to the WET610N, I am able to see the current state. We can see that the bridge is configured with the IP I assigned, and the wireless network tab shows it is currently connected to the network wireless set up on Cisco 1140.

However, if I plug the Ethernet bridge into my ethernet port on my laptop, it just generates the error "No Network Access" with the network icon showing the yellow triangle. Verification of the ipconfig command, I see that I am getting a 169 IP address, not the 192. subnet range which I hope. Restarting the device doesn't help.

Based on another entry in these forums, I tried statically configure the laptop LAN to a 192 available. IP then that it was connected to the gateway. I still have the same error.

It seems odd that the State Bridge displays connected, and yet he did not give my laptop a usable IP address and allow it to connect. Searches bring up problems with the wireless connection, which doesn't seem to be my problem, as shown in the brige as connected. Even the shows 1 WAP client connected with the IP I assigned to the bridge.

So, can someone help me understand why the WET610N will not assign an IP address to all what is connected to the? I'd appreciate certainly any idea, I start to tear out my hair on it.

I tried to call tech support, incidentally, and I was told they would have to assign a team to set up my network and that it would cost $70. That doesn't seem fair to me.

    Thanks in advance!

    ~ Tom

Make sure you have the latest firmware. You can download it here http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/bridges/WET610N. Reset and reconfigure.

  • WAG320N and PLK300 connection problems

Hello everyone and thanks for your help.

I recently bought a WAG320N Gigabite modem-router to replace the modem router provided by (in principle less powerful) internet service provider.

Previously, I have a Zyxel (MOD. P660HW-D1) wireless router. The main computer is wired (ethernet connected trough), I also have a wired NAS (WD my book world 1 TB Twonky server) device and a third wired connection for the above mentioned PLK 300. The 300 of PLK (4 inputs and one output) is used to connect a TV (Sony BRAVIA) a Bluray (SONY) a PS3 (Sony) and a multimedia HD (DVICO). All this did not work properly. I have access to internet TV, PS3... I was able to run the videos, photos,... stored in the SIN of TV...

I decided to change to improve the transfer speed and allow a better wireless connection (I initially coverage issues, but because I don't use that the rarely wireless...).

Initially, I bought a Linksys E 3000 (I thought that it was possible to connect directly to the internet and not through a modem. I asked several people and in a few stores, but nobody told me that this was not possible). It was my first failure: I would suggest to the liknsys population explained clearly on the card product to avoid the same mistake by not very well informed people like me.

Then I bud the E3000 from the WAG320N. I connect the new modem-router like the old (Zyxel). No room for mistakes, just the power, the line DSL and ethernet cables. It works for PC and the NAS, but the PLC (PLK300) do not seem to work. Several tests later (including the plugin PLK on the line 1 of the router it is indicated on the network card but do not work.) I do not have access to the internet or the NAS summary form TV...

Could someone tell me how can I configure? You are my last resort. I just a few days before I should return the product to the store if it doesn't.

I will go back to the old router and everything works again in the simplest (I have internet access TV shape,...) except the Twonky access to the SIN of TV?. I don't know exactly what I changed,...)

Sorry for the long explanation, but I prefer to give you the details, just in case where those needed the solution.

As you have probably noticed that I'm not an expert but a patient user.

    Thanks again for your help

Since you have replaced your router by WAG, to do your PLK work with your router you will need to reconfigure PLK. You can follow the steps on this link to reconfigure your PLK.

    Hello

    1. you remember to make changes to your computer, after which the issue started?
    2. do you have a cable or a wireless connection?

I would recommend that you follow these steps.

    Step 1:

Test the issue in safe mode with network and check if that helps.

    Step 2:

Configure the connection to obtain an IP address automatically.

    a. click "Start", enter "NCPA. CPL"(without quotes) in the search bar and press"Enter. "
    b. right-click on the network connection, and then click "Properties".
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    c. click Select 'Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) Internet' and then click 'properties '.
    d. check "obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
    e. click 'OK '.
    f. click Select 'Protocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)' and then click 'properties '.
    g. check "obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically".
    h. click on 'OK '.

    Step 3:

Follow the steps in this article and check if that helps.

Why can't I connect to the Internet?

Steps are also applicable for Windows Vista.

  • Can range of printers HP 6830 - I connect via USB and ethernet?

I just bought a printer HP 6830.  I have a Windows Vista computer that I don't want to be connected to the internet and a PC of Windows 8.1, but also a laptop Windows 2000 who are both connected to the internet via ethernet (and can also be connected via a wireless connection).  I was hoping to connect the printer to the PC via the port USB Vista and for Windows 8.1 PC and laptop computer via an ethernet cable.  Can I connect via usb or ethernet connection at the same time?

    Hello

You can install the software via a USB port on your Windows Vista PC, do not connect USB until the installation guide to make.

So you can connect the printer to your network and install it on Windows 8.1 PC, USB and a network connection can be used for concurrency and would not interfere between them...

For the PC under Windows 2000, the printer is not compatible with the operating system and there is no drivers for such a, you can find the system requirements below:

  • With the help of TC as a bridge between the Linksys router.  TC will be connected by a cable ethernet to another building.  Will this work? Help.

Need to get wireless to my workshop about 70 feet from the House.  Linksys router connect to the Hughes Net modem uses.  I have a new time Capsule I would like to set up in the workshop.  I have an ethernet cable from my house to the workshop.  (Had bad lighting storm last week and knocked out two Linksys routers.  TVs all otherwise not serious!  Need help, TC inlays.

Connect the ethernet to the WAN port on the TC and just run the configuration wizard utility airport... it should automatically configure the TC correctly... Have you already tried that and it didn't... If so the TC attached as well during the storm because it can damage the ethernet ports.

  • Ethernet WET610N Bridge: How to set up Mac OS 9?

    Hey there,

I hope some of you can help me with my problem. I'm not exactly in this kind of thing and you'd be grateful for any help. Here's my problem: I always use a maxed out Macintosh iBook G3 with Mac OS 9.2.2 for office, internet and games. Unfortunately due to his old map Airport, it can only connect to free or WEP networks, that is why I decided to buy the Ethernet of Linksys WET610N Wireless N bridge. The plan is to connect my iBook through the WET610N with encrypted network WPA here. Unfortunately, I'm totally lost after unpacking.

The manual doesn't say anything on a Macintosh (not even Mac OSX) installation. The site provides no help either, at least I couldn't access anything be it useful. The CD-ROM ("insert the first CD"!) is useless to me, because it contains only Windows software. (would have been nice if that would have been mentioned somewhere...). I think it's a bit irritating because this package was hailed as being easy to use with Windows, Macintosh and Linux machines.

Just now, I don't know how to configure the Ethernet bridge without using the installer. I suppose there's a way to access the menu manually, but how can it be done? The manual contains no information on this alternative configuration method, and as I said, I don't have a degree in computer science and have trouble finding my way through...

If anyone of you could help me, I would really appreciate

  • Unable to connect to the bridged casting of Chrome with WRT1900ac

I have Verizon Fios that doesn't let you not use your own router has its own.  Instead, I have a WRT1900ac passed on ethernet to the router Actiontec verizon provided.  Melting of chrome only supports 2.4 ghz.  When I am connected to the network 2.4 ghz with the control device I can control fine.  However, when I connect to the 5 GHz network on my device, it does not recognize the chromecast.  It seems that I have to turn off the AP isolation, however I can't find this in the settings of the bridged router limited menu.

You can try it but it never worked for me and said it may not work:

Let us know if it changes whatever it is for you... otherwise, I recommend that you call your Linksys contact Regional Office support and ask for help and information about it. We find that the telephone contacts has better immediate results on the use of electronic mail.

  • 2nd airport Extreme replaces an older AP, it is connected via wifi or ethernet?

Sorry for what is lame, I read on the news from Apple, but I'm a bit confused with the concept of the expansion of the range with a bridge instead of an access point.

The original installation was an extreme Apple with a TrendNet AP. The Trendnet used a different SSID, the new bridge to the AESB uses the same SSID as the router/AESB. I used the Airport utility, and I think that it only gave me an option to extend the reach of the original AEBS. The new bridge to the AESB is connected to Ethernet.

I'm confused that if the new AESB uses the same SSID as the AESB/router, it means that it does not use the ethernet connection. How can I know if the second AESB is using the Ethernet connection or extend the reach of the Wifi? Or actually I mess up and need to re-setup the AESB?

A bridge is actually one access point, but uses the same SSID? all the other differences?

    Thanks in advance!

Let's back off on the terminology for a bit, since terms such as 'spread', 'bridge' and 'access point' can mean different things to different people.

You have an AirPort Extreme at the moment which produces a signal of wireless network, correct?

You want to add another AirPort Extreme to your AirPort Extreme network, correct?

You want the new AirPort Extreme to connect to the existing AirPort Extreme using wired, Ethernet wired, permanent, correct?

You want the new AirPort Extreme using the same wireless network name and password as your existing AirPort Extreme, correct?

  • stretching from the internet connection via a wired ethernet cable

    Hello

First time poster. I have a netgear R8000 Nighthawk on my 2nd floor. I intend to use an ethernet cable connected to the R8000 and bring it downstairs in my living room. My question is, is - it possible to be able to connect the ethernet cable in the living room to another router and then connect up to 3 devices (apple computer, smart tv, tv) via ethernet cables? I prefer wired connections. I am aware that I can use as the EX7000 netgear router as access point, but other devices may only be connected wirelessly.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you very much!

  • Bluescreens Vista laptop with ndis.sys when I connect Xbox 360 via Ethernet

I have a laptop with Windows Vista HPG5056EA. When I connect my Xbox 360 with an Ethernet cable, it bluescreens with the message:

    "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"... to it also States:

    ' * STOP: 0X000000D1 (0 X 00000200, 0X00000002, 0X00000000, 0X82D4CBA1).
    NDIS.sys - address 82D4CBA1 base at 82C7D000, DateStamp 479190e7 ".

To do this, no bluescreen at any other time. only when I connect the Xbox 360 to it.

I looked all over the internet and can safely rule out bad ram (as I changed it and the problem still happens).
Others have said that it is to do with the Realtek network adapter that is installed. I've updated this to the last version of driver with no improvement.

This problem has happened twice. The first was after installing some software Nero. I have uninstalled and rebooted and things were very good.

The second time was after installing software Ashampoo. I removed that too and things were good again.

This time, the only thing I installed before getting the blue screen is Microsoft Silverlight.  I uninstalled it but the blue screen issue continues.

I tried to use system restore too but the problem remains.

I tried to access the mini dump after the blue screen file, but the ' C:\Windows\Minidump\ folder is always empty, even if I choose 'partial memory (64 KB) image' in the "Write debugging information" parameters. "
(Some have said that the issue of minidump could not have enough memory, so with my laptop with 2 GB of RAM, I put the pagefile 3072 and had at least 7 GB of hard disk free space but I don't always get the minidump file).

If anyone can help with the blue screen I would be really really grateful that I no longer us Xbox Live.

    Features of the laptop:

    Windows Vista 32 bit
    RAM: 2GB
Processor: Intel T2080 1.73Ghz (Dual Core)

Thanks for your quick response. I had already tried most of what was suggested before you put this question up, without success.

However, I apparently managed to fix the problem (for now at least) using Device Manager to completely uninstall the Realtek network adapter and remove the driver. I restarted the laptop after this and Windows reinstalled automatically and hay presto, no blue screen when connecting to the Xbox!

I don't know if this is a permanent solution but if it starts to happen again, I'll try the same and let you know.

    Thanks again
