Problem with initialization virtual machine OlioDB

Hello

I have been using VMmark 2.1 six months spent for our performance appraisals. I recently started seeing the following error message when the harness trying to boot the virtual machine OlioDB0:

Stafcmd: Tile0: FS copy the file: ConfigServer_OLIOjspDB.sh failed with RC = 22, STARFResult = STAFConnectionWriteUInt: error writing to the socket: send() RC = 10054:22

I can ping the virtual computer, I can also ping using STAF (oliodb0 STAF-> pong ping ping).

If I change the WORKLOADLIST in the vmmark2.config file so that it includes OlioDB, initialization is going through and I can see the virtual machine making initialization. But when WORKLOADLIST revert to the original, I get the above error message. I would appreciate your help to try to solve the problem.

Thank you

Amin

Sorry, my apologies, I understood the question. I had another copy of the same virtual machine running on a separate server, which caused a conflict of IP address with the main VM that the test sought to initialize. I got rid of the copy and everything started to work very well.

    Hello

    I have three ESX 3.5 in a cluster with an EVA SAN. When I do my backup, I get this message for some of my virtual machines. The majority of my backup work well...

    PrepareForBackup() could not prepare TermServer for backup, returned the error 16

    Exit code: 16

    Pre order is: "C:\Program VMware Consolidated Backup Framework\backupexec\Green-pre-backup.bat" green-Termserver TermServer - fullVM

    In Virtual Center, the name of the virtual computer is TermServer, the folder on my SAN is TermServer and all files, named according to the name of vm, have 'TermServer' in their name.

    Any idea?

    I think that you have a DNS problem, you use - ipaddr in config. file for VCB?

    Try ping TermServer, you can resolve the name?

  • Is that a catastrophic problem with BootCamp / virtual machines or something else?

    Just had a catasrophic with BootCamp problem

    My MBP was running a bit lazy, so Apple gave me a few instructions on how to fix this, including linking the installation discs for the disk utility and empty all of my folders cache under OSX.  Don't know if any of this slow and crashing was something to do with the installation of the latest update to OSX

    All of a sudden when I came back to Windows in the usual manner, the installation of windows in the VM required activation. Needless to say I had to activate windows every time I spent Bootcamp in OSX and/or then the merger to get to Windows, I had to re-activate so finally that Microsoft is beginning to think that someone is to install Windows on multiple computers and telephone activation becomes a nightmare.

    But even worse, when I managed to understand what product key that I used for bootcamp and started windows, EACH CONFIGURATION MADE OVER A YEAR or so AND EACH SOFTWARE INSTALLATION HAD DISAPPEARED, I HAD!  Without a windows installation process, I've been frame with a soft-install windows desktop with all my lost favorites. Leading to an even bigger nightmare in the re-installation of hundreds of evidence hours of software.  He had two meager records to show that I was in the right place and that everything is not contained in another folder and a file or two, but I wonder if all these installation information is contained in a cache in the directory structure Active Directory OSX? If so, is it possible to identify the files or the folders in which cache directory must be saved?

    If this is the case, I never dreamed that something to do with the windows installation was contained in the OSX directory structure?  Surely if this is the case, there should be a strong warning on it?   Admittedlythe Windows Setup WAS a bit slow before the "incident", but I doubt that there is something deeply wrong, and in any event I ran just a fully updated Adaware and Spybot so this problem is probably not a virus. (I don't use email merge)

    If this is the case, is - can anyone identify records needing backup before you empty the caches under OSX?  I don't think THAT many here would have been recovered by the take a snapshot could it? (anyway, I could not in windows without this activation)

    FWIW, the only way I can see what is a matter of merger is if by chance you're under Fusion 2.0.0, which had a fatal flaw it would partition Boot Camp Virtual Machine to take a snap, and if you did not start in native mode again you probably will not notice immediately that all changes have been written in a disc rather than the disc file physics itself and then if we deleted the virtual Boot Camp Machine partition a situation such that you described could have similar results.

    Another thing to look at is C:\Program Files in the Windows directory and see if it contains all the applications you have installed once and if she doesn't then it's quite possible that you run Windows from a default registry hive, which of course contains no information on changes since Windows has been installed but you have really not provide adequate details on what you were in fact under the leadership of Apple technology to get where you currently are, so there is not much that I can offer.

  • strange problem with a virtual machine in VC2.5 U3

    Hello

    situation looks similar to the following: we followed ping IP of the VMS system. If the IP does more (stop the VM, NIC, IP conflict or other problem), then monitoring sends an sms to the mobile.

    There is a virtual computer, lets call him VM1 that runs all the time (well - he was responding to pings, because any sms received, but we do not know if it worked ok, fair pings were OK). And suddenly, Monday morning, we got SMS that VM is offline (no ping response). If my colleague entered VC and saw that this virtual machine has been powered down. He put on this virtual machine, and he started working (operating system and also pings).

    And now we know what happened. In VC, when I go to the tab events and tasks VM, I see in TASKS 2 inputs display: 4.06.2009 - Migration between hosts caused by the DRS (COMPLETED), and the 29.06.2009 to power on a virtual machine (by my colleague). There is no task displayed between this period on the performance tab, just take a peek. He has failed on performance since May (until the 29.06). I do not know if this worked well (we not only got all the warnings, the pings are bad). So I am confused - where looking for this first cause?

    Second question, I have seen events spammed by custom attributes (take a look). How to get rid of it, or is it possible to browse this VM events history?

    Is it possible to confirm what really happened to this virtual machine?

    You can try to search in VC Journal, ESX and VM logs.

    But could be a very long job...

  • VMware Workstation with ESX3.5u4 - problems with the virtual machines within ESX3.5u4

    Hello world

    I really need a consultation on this one:

    I'm testing ESX3.5.

    As I don't want to buy any material for now I thought it would be a good idea to test ESX3.5 in my computer.

    I used this model to install ESX3.5 in my computer: http://xtravirt.com/node/100

    ESX3.5 works perfektly in workstation.

    The only problem is that if I create a computer virtual within the VM ESX3.5 works very very slow.

    I searched on the VMware Forum for this problem and found that you need Intel VT enabled to speed things up.

    But I think that my "Intel (r) Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50 GHz, 2000 MHz" should have Intel VT.

    Does anyone have any ideas why my VMs on esx3.5 within the short slow workstation?

    Thank you all in advance for the help!

    Material used:

    ASUS P5B

    Intel Quad Core Q9300

    3 GB RAM

    Intel PRO/100 S-Serveradapter Ethernet

    According to your log file, the external VM using VT - x.  I'm afraid, it's as fast as your nested VMS are going to get.  While I would qualify as slow or even nested VM performance very slow, I'm not sure I'd go so far as "very very slow."  It is perhaps a matter of perception.

  • With the help of gsoap/C++ web SDK problem reconfiguring the Virtual Machine

    Hi all, I m using gsoap/C++ with web service sdk to monitor virtual machines.

    I m able to enumerate the current list of virtual machines, total number of vm. Now I m trying to reconfigure the virtual machine. My Code snippet is as below.

    The virtual machine is running and I m trying to change the ram, I did it using java api and it doesn't butfor c ++ it is in error.

    ns1__VirualMachineConfigSpec vmSpec;

    ival long 64;

    vmSpec - & gt; memoryMB = & ival;

    ns1__ReconfigVMRequestType reconfigVMRequestType;

    reconfigVMRequestType.spc = & vmSpec;

    reconfigVMRequestType._USCOREthis = vmObject - & gt; obj; managed object - virtual machine

    NS1_ReconfigVM_USCORETaskResponse reconfigVMResponse;

    ns1__ManagedObjectReference * morResult = 0;

    If (vim - & gt; __ns1__ReconfigVM_USCORETask (reconfigVMRequestType, & reconfigVMResponse) == SOAP_OK) {}

    morResult = reconfigVMResponse.returnval;

    } else cost & lt; & lt; "Unable to machine virtual reconfig." & lt; & lt; ENDL;

    Now in vSphere Client it show me error like.

    The operation is not supported on the object.

    And on server esxi in file /var/log/vmware/hostd.log it not show gives following error.

  • How to share a USB with a virtual machine raw device?

    Hey,.

    I have a TEMPer PCSensor USB device I want to share with a virtual machine.

    When he connect on my MacBook, I see it as a USB device in System Profiler as shown here:

    The problem is that there is no OS X driver that is appropriate for that. So while it has detected the USB device and read data from string device, Snow Leopard is not actually load anything to support this material. This means, in my view, that he does not see merger as a USB device is valid to be shared with the virtual machine.

    Does anyone know how to force the merger of share this USB without driver with the virtual machine please? The VM knows EXACTLY what to do with this device.

    Thank you

    If System Profiler can see the USB device, it should appear in the list of devices that can be connected to a virtual machine. The only exception is if it is a HID-class, which are automatically filtered device. See USB HID the User Guide running A VMware Fusion for an explanation and a workaround.

    Hi team,

    I ask that you forgive for asking a silly question without doing a free search.

    I'm using VMware workstation 6.5. I am able to communicate with both machines by selecting 'only option of home. "

    Is there a way by which the physical machine can communicate with the virtual machines.

    At the same time through the VMS, is it possible to access the Internet from the physical amchine.

    Help, please.

    Concerning

    Sriapti

    When you use a bridged vNIC the customer acts as any other host, so that you can access is by his IP (or name if a DNS configuration exists as you acceding to any other host.) What tools you can use depends on the guest operating system and the software available.

    I assume you mean access deskopt. Then you can use RDP (Windows Terminal services) or VNC (tight/tiny).

    For Linux, you can use this last or all the flavors of SSH. In the case of Linux, I use VNC through SSH tunnel. You can also tunnel X through SSH, so if you have an X server on another host (such as the Hummingbird for Windows), you can open your own office remotely there.

  • Tutorial problems on a virtual machine

    I try GF by following the documentation [1] and I found some problem when running the tutorial in vFabric_GemFire_701_b40235/SampleCode/tutorial:

    The tutorial on src/com/gemstone/gemfire/tutorial/storage/GemfireDAO.java defines the "localhost [port]". I changed it to 'ip [port]' (both for customers and peers) and recompiled. The tutorial still works well, but as soon as I try to start a client in another node (virtual machine) it stops working:

    1. When I run the peer that I can see it connect to the location (with netstat on the first host), but it takes a long time to connect (more than 10 seconds) and the data is not shared between peers (should it be shared on this case?).
    2. When I run the client it does not start, it throws a NoSubscriptionServersAvailableException after printing "could not initialize a main queue at startup. No server queue available". I've not found much info on this exception, does that mean?

    This tutorial should work on a different node for both configurations (client and peer)? I'm not sure of installing peer, but I understand that this should work for the customer.

    Thank you

    PS: There is no firewall or anything else limiting the connection between the virtual machines.

    EDIT:

    I also found the following:

    1. Start the servers and the Locator on $host1
    2. Launch gfsh on $host2
    3. Run "connect - locator = host1$ [$port]". " Gfsh appear something like this:
      Connection to the Locator to [host = $host1, port = $port]...
      Connection to the Manager at [host = $host1, port = 1099]...
      Connection refused to host: 127.0.1.1; nested exception is:...

    This exception relates to the connection manager? If so, why the host2 would try to connect to localhost? (Of course $host1! = 127.0.1.1)

    [1] vFabric Documentation Center

    OK, after chasing my tail for a little, I think I see the problem.

    I guess you follow the tutorial here: running the tutorial

    At the point where the tutorial asks you to run the client (part 5: Set Up cache server), you must configure a pair of cache servers using the command gfsh and not by the Peer class running. The initPeer method is not enough for everything to work. Specifically, you will need to have in place a CacheServer (sorry - I know that the term "Server" is overloaded way here). Anyway, the CacheServer is what it takes to run and that the client connects to. If you start a server with gfsh, a CacheServer is started automatically.

    If you want to increase the initPeer method, to start a CacheServer, you can add the following bit of code right after that the Cache is created:

    CacheServer cs = cache.addCacheServer();
    cs.setPort(0);
    cs.start();

    Here a CacheServer is started and will listen on a random port. You could define a port, but need not if your customer uses a locator of discovery.

  • Beta 6 - lost sharing with my virtual machine to Yosemite...

    I'm running Beta of Yosemite and VMWare 6.0.4

    I chose is not upgraded to VMWare 7 until the final version of Yosemite is released and VMWare 7 has made all its corrections accordingly.

    Now, after reviewing the above, I didn't have problems (to my knowledge) with the help of VMWare on the Yosemite Beta 6.0.4 until the most recent beta version updated this morning.

    After updating Yosemite Beta Beta 6, I lost the ability to share with my Mac, and all my desktop icons disappeared.

    I get the following message:

    Screen Shot 2014-10-14 at 9.09.12 AM.jpg

    I tried to turn sharing off - restart the virtual machine (windows 7), turn on sharing, restart the machine virtual and verified that sharing is enabled on my mac after the update.

    Are the guru of VMWare is aware of this and work on a resolution?

    I thought about it!

    -Uninstall VMWare tools

    restart the virtual machine (windows 7 in my case)

    Re - install VMWARE tools

    restart the virtual machine

    reactivate the sharing

    log out of the virtual machine

    reconnect

    It works now

  • Closing and reopening the workstation with running virtual machines

    I have recently upgraded to 10 Workstation and I am having a strange problem. In preferences, I have checked option which says "continue to VMs run after the closure of workstation. In workplace planned 9 this option worked exactly, but workstation 10 seems that partially works as expected. In Workstation 9 I could close my computer, and then open then in from the tray icon to always see my virtual machines running with the small green icon play on them. However, in the 10 workstation I close the workstation and all my virtual machines continue to run, but when I reopen it workstation all my virtual machines appear in the workstation as if they are off; but they run because I can RDP for them. If I right click on one of them all is grey with the exception of mark it as a favorite and delete. I can't power off, change the settings, see the console, or anything like that. The shows the icon that VMs are being run, but even suspend, stop or suspend tray icon options or background open VMs do not work either. The only way I found actually to get my computer working again is to use the Task Manager to kill the task of vmware - vmx.exe. As soon as the task is killed for each workstation running, they operate again in the workstation.

    If anyone has encountered this problem, or know a fix for this? I have run several virtual machines and never have any idea that vmware - vmx.exe is for what VM when needing to change something on one of them. I make sure that I can kill them all in order to make a change to one of them.

    Ok. I have this problem. However, the fix has been an awareness in desperate need of repair. I ended up uninstalling the VMware Workstation and then remove all references to the registry with REGEDIT. I then restarted the computer and reinstalled VMware Workstation again. After this heavy treatment, it works again the way it should work. It seems that the upgrade to the latest version of Workstation 9 to the latest version of 10 break something somewhere.

    By the way, Dayworker, it was and is version 10.0.3.
