Problem with keyboard for T410i in Perth, to THE

Hello

I hope someone here could help me answer.

My Fn key does not work. Initially, I tried to clean the keyboard... did not work. Strange thing, that's when I take the keyboard (with the cable still attached and laptop still on) to try, works of Fn. When I saw the keyboard at the rear, the Fn key stopped working again.

Tried to call the hotline of lenovo and tossed around.

As I just bought the T410i in Dec10 only, I hope to find a lenovo service center to fix. However, I have seen in this forum that the Center is in Sydney and minimum 4 business days is required.

1 do you have anyone had this problem before?

2. What is the duration that you have waited your laptop to come back from Sydney?

3. make the warranty coverage for such a problem?

If this isn't the case, I'll have to wait until my graduation from this year end and attach back to Singapore.

Thank you very much.

UM, it's a strange problem. Could be a short circuit.

Call 131 426, ask them to send out a new keyboard (you should get the following day, because a parts depot in Perth from memory).

If this fails to solve the problem, then you need warranty service. It is difficult to say how long would take the deposit usually 5 days is out of time, but if there are no parts available, then it should be 2 to 8 weeks, depending on how long it takes to source a similar parts.
