  I have problems with Windows (for Win XP) updates...
  (1) I installed the hardware updates for my sound card (via Windows update) and now I can't hear the music through my speakers or headphones.  In addition, related to my sound card software do not work either!
  (2) at the same time, I tried to install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 through Windows Update and that would not install (.. .and I tried several times).

  Who uses Windows Live Mail 2012 without problem for years, and then I did the update last week. Although it still shows my mail files, he will not show me the subfolders of these folders.   IF you do not use any Microsoft e-mail programs installed (hot mail, outlook.com, etc), Windows Live Mail 2011.  It is practically the same with a few differences that probably will be okay for you.  Good WLM2011 can actually make groups.

  WLM is part of any offer from Microsoft called Windows Live Essentials.  Probably you don't need many other parts and you can select the ones you want as part of the installation process.

I get an error code (80153003) everytime I try a downloading something.

  I did not buy all the points, but I'd like to if the problem is resolved. I won't waste my money on something that won't work, if.

  I have this laptop for a year and a half. Right from the beginning I had many problems with MSN messenger. Whenever I'll have conversations, or MSN messenger is just on, it gets bogged down.

  Have you installed updates for Vista together? I mean there are a lot of new MS patches and fixes available and new in SP1 came out too.

  Gerry, thanks for your post. I have the same problem as Joachim started this thread. I am running Windows 7 sp1. I have a Dell computer and it's certainly a legitimate copy of Windows (confirmed computer 'properties' and it is enabled).

  By your post, I saw just to update and the KB3004394 (installed on 12/10/2014) and KB3024777 (installed on 12/12/2014) show as comfortable. I usually leave the Windows download updates automatically and I install them to stop. I watched the second update and according to Microsoft.com:

  Install KB3024777 to fix a problem with KB3004394 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

  The KB 3004394 update which was dated December 10, 2014 can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer.

  My problem is, as of today 14/12/2014, I still get the pop up "this computer is running not windows genuine', even with KB3024777 installed.

Healthcare gov support only suggested to disable the pop-up blocker. I did, and I couldn't always open the file. No problem on a desktop computer regardless of the browser.

  In my view, they spend on their web server to a document ECM server authentication. Someone else has the problem?

  Okay, actually, I think that there is a problem with the type of form. It is a form of a special kind (called a form XFA or Designer, for what it's worth), which can be opened with Adobe Reader and only on Mac or Windows. There is no iPad software that can read these.

• MSN for Windows 8

  Why my laptop HP (Touchsmart tm2) will not display the new MSN for Windows 8?  My HP desktop computer made. The laptop redirect msn.com to http://hp13.us.msn.com/ which is the old style MSN.  I can't find a way to access the interface to win 8 to MSN.com on the laptop.  I have Win Pro 8, 64 - bit installed on both machines.

  If you use IE, then go to tools-> Internet Options-> delete the browsing history and check all the boxes except the top to keep box. Then click on the button Delete.

  Open MSN site you want to set as the home page, then go to Customize-> Internet Options-> Advanced tab and select reset.  Then close and launch IE and go to your web site then go to tools-> Options Internet-> and select current use.
