Problem with .png with transperencies export InDesign PDF files

We did a layout-design, with transparent png. In the past, when we have exported this indesign doc as PDF X 3-2003 we never had problems with it (using earlier versions of Indesign).

Unfortunately with the latest version of Indesign, we have ugly boxes in our last print issue, which give as if 100% Transp. would decline about 90%.

Also, the large print service company has not any expaination for this. We use the latest series of CC portfolio.

It has not tried .tiff files with alpha channels yet, since our production pipeline is based on png files, and it worked.

If anyone has a similar problem, I'd be interested to hear:

I think that it is connected to this http://indesignsecrets.com/eliminating-ydb-yucky-discolored-box-syndrome.php

Similarly, if you work with PNGS in InDesign for printing, you should use PSD files as PNG does not support color management, only the alpha transparency, this is only a selection of transparency, which can support PDF.

In InDesign, you should in aspects of quality import PDFS, I, PSD and avoid EPS.

  • Problems with the export of PDF to TIFF (a PDF page export also several images in TIFF format)

Using Acrobat X professional, I'm trying to convert a PDF to multiple page in multiple TIFF files - that is, each page of the PDF file is converted to a TIFF file (for example, a PDF file with 50 pages would cause 50 TIFF).

I created a remedy so that I can possibly process batches of PDFs. My action in two stages:

    (1) flatten layers

    (2) export all images as TIFF

-the files are exported to a folder on a network drive

-file settings are: Monochrome = CCITT G4 / grayscale = LZW / color = LZW

-color management: RGB = off / off = CMYK / grayscale = off

-conversion: color space: determine automatically / resolution: 300 pixels/inch

-extraction: exclude the lower images: no limit

My PDF is searchable (OCR has been applied). I checked the file to see if it has all the layers - this isn't. The file was created with InDesign.

Basically, once the action performed there are several exported for each page - TIFF files and when I open the TIFFs they are parts of each PDF page. For example, if a single PDF page has three images on it then three TIFFs are exported for each image instead of a TIFF that is identical to the single PDF page. Then, when I try to treat a PDF with 50 pages that I'm left with is a folder with 150 TIFF files (and not 50 TIFF files - a TIFF for each page of the PDF).

Here is an example of how files are renamed due to export:

      • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0001.tif
      • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0002.tif
      • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0003.tif
      • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0004.tif
      • HD_08_Issue2_E_Page_02_Image_0005.tif

I tried to use the action on a PDF file that had not been OCR'ed and I had no such problem. The only thing I can think is that it is the OCR which is the origin of each page of the file PDF to split into multiple images? The majority of the files that I need to convert PDF to TIFF had applied OCR.

    Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

In a Save command, you can use the export to TIFF in the output Format.

  • Problem with printer, exported to PDF

Hello, I have a problem with my printer to work. I recently installed acrobat from adobe pro xi. And from a pc, we can use option of the printer to export PDFs, but on the other, we cannot. It reports a problem in the system. So I uninstalled the program and reinstalled after a while but the same problem bulging guard.

    It says this:

I don't understand what is the exact problem because the installation was made in the same way to this computer than for others and that they do not appear this problem.

What you think is the source of this problem and what can I do to fix this?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this also.

Nevermind guys, I understand it. For all of you who have the same problem, the solution is:

1 open my computer and navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile (per-folder if it is easier for you) and check if there is the Desktop folder.

    2. If there is no such thing as the Desktop folder, and then create a new folder and rename it to desktop or copy it from C:\users\Default\Desktoplocation.

Note: C:\Users\Default is hidden by default

    Hope that helped :D

    Thank you.

If you have problems with a non-Adobe product, contact the manufacturers. That said, Adobe often try to disable PDF - PDF printing, especially for files by password, so it could be design but it works correctly.

  • Problems with Windows search and PDF files

Server 2008 R2, the client is Windows 7.  I store invoices in digital format PDF in one hand.  The server took to the index folder and its contents, added the last addition to Adobe pdf, but if I search documents for words I know are there, nothing is found.  In another post, it was suggested to ensure that the system was in the full access permissions list.  I have the server to remove and rebuild the search index, everything has not helped.  Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have this problem on my own.  Do NOT access through dfs.  Go directly to the server.  In our case, \\harry.com\AR\invoices won't work not, but \\Apollo\AR\invoices doesn't.  It's as simple as that.

Will there be transparency on the page?

It looks like the effect 'breach' common when there is transparency on a page. It shows on the screen and in preints of low resolution, but not, in my opinion, out of press.

  • Problem with sharpness in InDesign

    Hi all

First turn off all the intruducion me, abit Im Roel Swanenberg, I sometimes abit of design for my dad. Consider making records, to provide photos, etc.

For a week I use Adobe InDesign to create folders, before I used Photoshop to create folders, yes it's true.

When I was with Photoshop, I just made a new document, entered in the dimensions of a landscape A4 paper document and on the road.

When I finished my drawing, I exported to PDF and the PDF, we printed a printer of high quality records, and they were always perfect, at least in the sharpness of the images and the text.

A week ago, someone told me that I should make the files in InDesign, so I started to work around with InDesign, I'm now an extra week and really use InDesign to make records.

So I decided to make the new folder for my father's company in InDesign. I made a new document, A4 Horizontal 2 pages. First I have enterd the standard model that I made in Photoshop and saved in InDesign.

The first thing I saw was that the entire document lost a lot of AA. I thought that maybe his design or what so ever. So I'm on board. I've added some professional photos from the .tiff extension, added text, and voila, a new folder is born. At least that's what I thought. So, I exported the InDesign document to PDF. When I open the PDF of the entire document was a blur. Although I thought lets just try to print and compare the document printed with exsiting records I made in Photoshop.

Then I printed them and compared to them, I was like I can't even read the text on the folder which I made in InDesign, while the folder that I did in Photoshop is really good to read.

Also photos, they are not sharp at all. If im now wondering, why my files are done in Photoshop 100% strong and my files in InDesign blurry as hell.

Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?

I hope that someone knows an answer to my problem.

EDIT: BTW, I'm using a Macbook Pro Mac os X 10.7.2

    Greetings,

    Roel Swanenberg

What you have not provided is what parameters allows you to export InDesign PDF Forms. If you used the (interactive) PDF export option with the default settings, your images are sous-échantillonnées to 72 dpi. If you used the option to export PDF (print) either with the PDF / X-4: 2008 or high quality print joboptions which her downsample images to 300 dpi only if they exceed the 450 dpi, it is very unlikley you'll see any degradation.

Tell us more about exactly how you create PDFS, and we can better help you.

  • Problems with the export of

    Hello

I had problems with the export feature in Photoshop 2015 CC. I think that the problems started some time around the most recent update, but it is possible it all started when I used the photo frame Script (filter > render > photo frame). I'm not sure. But as you'll see below, it is almost that the software attempts to create a setting when I try to export an image.

In any case, when I try to use the export function, the image that appears in the dialog box is stretched and distorted.

    photoshop-problems-2.jpg

I can resize the box and the image will then appear normal, but then when I click on "Export all", the screen looks like this:

    photoshop-problems-3.jpg

The box save never actually appears. It's just a white box with a black column. It's almost as if the screen is not complete the drawing.

And it seems that this problem starts even before I got to export in the form box. The beginning of Photoshop screen looks like this:

    photoshop-problems-1.jpg

The file names (which I have gray here) are not complete. They end up just with a white line that reaches out to the right of the screen.

This has happened for at least a few weeks now. Stop smoking out and restarting does not help. I tried to reset my preferences and that did not help. I tried to delete the preferences file and it still happens.

BTW, the Save for Web feature works very well.

I work on a Mac with the following attributes:

    photoshop-problems-4.jpg

My Mac software is up to date, as well as Photoshop.

Can someone help me understand what is happening and how to fix it?

    Thank you-

    Mary

If you see a picture frame in the preview, but not in the exported file, I think that you have driver video card problems.

If you go into Photoshop preferences > Performance and uncheck 'Use Graphics Processor', the problem goes away?

How to export a PDF file to a word document? at this time he came with "specified by a policy (CMap) encoding is missing? What can I do?  Thank you

    Hi frenchiem,

This is due to the PDF file cannot display the original fonts. To fix it, creator must create the PDF file with the police embed option enabled. Thus, the user can open the file on any platform with the same layout. Or the product Acrobat can display them after installing the media kit for police on the client side.

    Kind regards

  • How to set the orientation of page with postscript when the pdf file is displayed in Adobe Acrobat format?

I have a program that generates a postscript and then 'prints' the script in a PDF file using gs.

The user can opt for the document in landscape format.  The program handles this with the addition of the 'Rotation 90' command early in the script.  It works without problem.  When the user opens the PDF file in Adobe Acrobat, it is displayed in landscape orientation.

In addition, the user may have a "watermark", adding the document which is the text at an angle of 60 degrees.  This is handled by the emission of the "rotation of 60", then the text of the watermark, then "rotation-60.  This also works without problem.  The resulting PDF file has watermark text at an angle of 60 degrees to the rest of the text in the document.

The problem is when these two options are used together.  The document is correctly mounted (in orientation landscape with a watermark properly tilted), but it is displayed in Acrobat in portrait, forcing the user to rotate to be able to read it.  When I look at the postscript, it seems OK, just the sum of these two options:

    rotation of 90

    things...

    60 rotate

    ... watermark text...

    turn-60

... the rest of the document...

'Net turnover' is 90, leading me to believe that it would be displayed in landscape orientation, but it is displayed in portrait mode.

There is no other sizing page not declared in the script.

How can I get the document to display in the landscape when opened in Acrobat?  Thank you.

Check to see that the 'gs' (ghostscript) isn't reorienting the page, by default, based on what he thinks is the correct meaning of reading.
