    Is it possible to duplicate/clone of Soalris in Linux? :-)))))

    You can not use the command DUPLICATE between platforms (see duplicate restrictions in the documentation). It is possible to perform a cross-platform via RMAN transport. This process is also explained in the documentation.

    Werner

    You have an additional complication, patch levels are different. Perhaps datapump here is a better solution - depending on the size of the database.

    And I hope that Solaris on x 86-64 (no SPARC), otherwise the next complication.

  • Problem creating physical standby with RMAN

    Hi guru

    Perhaps this impact that all face you when creating physical standby DB. I'm trying to create a physical standby database Using RMAN double order a server

    (pri machine) machine on standby.

    Here are the steps I followed to create the above:

    Step 1:-activate forced logging

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE FORCE LOGGING;

    Step 2:-set up a standby Redo Log

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE ADD STANDBY LOGFILE GROUP 10

    2 > ('/ oracle/dbs/log1c.rdo','/oracle/dbs/log2c.rdo') SIZE 500 M;

    Step 3:-set the parameters of primary database initialization

    SQL > create pfile='?/dbs/pfileorcl.ora' of spfile;

    Edit the pfile to add the sleep settings, shown here:

    db_unique_name = "orcl".

    LOG_ARCHIVE_CONFIG = 'DG_CONFIG = (ORCL, orcldr)'

    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "SERVICE = orcldr LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = orcldr'"

    * .fal_server = orcldr

    * .fal_client = orcl

    * .standby_file_management = auto

    Step 4:-activate archiving

    SQL > SHUTDOWN IMMEDIATE;

    SQL > STARTUP MOUNT;

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE ARCHIVELOG;

    SQL > ALTER DATABASE OPEN;

    Step 5:-tnsnames for eve of the configuration database

    This should be done on the primary database to edit tnsnames.ora or using the command NetCA and create by the name orcldr

    orcldr =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Eve-svr)(PORT = 1521))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcldr)

    )

    )

    Step 6:-backup of database and copy it to standby mode

    This backup script must be run on primary and copied to sleep on the same mount point, run these scripts with RMAN, all files in /rman_backup need to be copied in /rman_backup on the standby server.

    $rman target.

    RMAN > run

    {

    allocate channel c1 type disk;

    allocate channel c2 type disk;

    backup of database format ' / rman_backup/%U';

    ARCHIVELOG backup all the format ' / rman_backup %U ';

    backup current controlfile to Eve format ' / rman_backup/%U';

    }

    Step 7:-availability of measures database

    Installation of Oracle software

    This should be the same version and patch group with exactly same ORACLE_HOME mount point.

    Commissioning of the listener

    Create and start a listener on the database of sleep by using NetCA, or create listener.ora in $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin

    LISTENER =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = Eve-svr)(PORT = 1521))

    )

    Step 8:-set of backup database initialization parameters

    Copy the pfile file created in the database primary it renames in initorcldr.ora and change these settings:

    db_unique_name = "orcldr".

    LOG_ARCHIVE_CONFIG = 'DG_CONFIG = (orcldr, ORCL)'

    LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 = "SERVICE = orcl LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR =(ONLINE_LOGFILES,PRIMARY_ROLE) DB_UNIQUE_NAME = orcl'"

    * .fal_server = orcl

    * .fal_client = orcldr

    *. LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_2 = 'ENABLE '.

    Step 9:-installation tnsnames for the primary database

    This should be done on the pending change tnsnames.ora or using the command NetCA database and create it in the name orcl

    ORCL =

    (DESCRIPTION =

    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP) (HOST = primary-svr)(PORT = 1521))

    (CONNECT_DATA =

    (SERVER = DEDICATED)

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl)

    )

    )

    Step 10:-copy a password file

    A password file must be created on the primary and copied to the standby site. The sys password must be the same on both sites. Copy orapworcl in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs and rename the file in orapworcldr

    Step 11:-create for Oracle mount points

    Mount point must be created on the standby server with the same convention used in primary education, which includes the location for controlfiles, redo logs, data files, destination of the newspaper Archives and alert logs.

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/oradata/orcl /.

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/flash_recovery_area /.

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/adump

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/bdump

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/cdump

    $ mkdir Pei/u01/app/oracle/admin/orcl/udump

    Step 12:-use RMAN to restore the backup and standby configuration

    Connecting to RMAN and run the following command to create the database pending, this must be performed on the standby server after the backup copy and the tnsnames parameter.

    $ export ORACLE_SID = orcldr

    $ rman target sys/tiger@orcl auxiliary sys/tiger@orcldr

    RMAN > target double standby database dorecover;

    Here, I'm getting problem such as:

    While he was trying to connect to databases traget and auxiliary, I noticed that when RMAN is connected across the two databases it shows

    ORCL (DBID xyz)

    ORCL (unmounted)

    Here, in my opinion the second database must be the name of the standby database or auxiiary db name is Eve db which is orcldr in my case

    After this issue, I am faced with the second issues such as:

    in command

    target double standby database dorecover;

    After you change the command to

    RMAN > duplicate target database "sleep."

    RMAN-05520 database name mismatch

    Can u please let me know where I can be wrong

    Finally I have the problem after all this googling and thinking the same thing.

    Thanks to you all

  • Problem creating a Standby physical database with RMAN

    Hi all

    I am learning oracle dataguard and as part of the learning process of creation of database on hold.

    Platform: V250-fire-Sun Sparc, Solaris 10

    Version of database - Oracle 11R2

    I create standby database on the same server, so the directory structure is different.

    By following the instructions on the site of Oracle, I managed to create a functional physical standby database. But I'm not able to create a database with RMAN backup. Here are the steps that I follow-

    1 configure all the required settings on the primary database as done in creating physical standby database manually, for example implementation force of logging, the creation of newspapers ensure etc..

    2. settings edited on the primary database file as does everything in manual creation of physical database backup. Some of these changes are –

    On the primary database:
    *. FAL_CLIENT = "orcl11020" #Primary database unique name
    *. FAL_SERVER = "stdby_11" #Standby database unique name

    db_file_name_convert ='/ < dir >/oradata/stdby_11 ',' / < dir >/oradata/orcl11020 '

    log_file_name_convert ='/ < dir >/oradata/stdby_11 ',' / < dir >/oradata/orcl11020 ',' / < dir > / oradata/stdby_11/redo_mem ',' / < dir > / oradata/orcl11020/redo_mem '
    standby_file_management = auto

    * .log_archive_config = 'DG_CONFIG = (orcl11020, stdby_11)'

    * .log_archive_dest_1 = "LOCATION = / < dir > / flash_recovery_area/ORCL11020/archivelog"

    VALID_FOR = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES) db_unique_name = orcl11020'

    * .log_archive_dest_2 = "SERVICE = db_unique_name LGWR ASYNC = (ONLINE_LOGFILES, PRIMARY_ROLE) stdby_11 = stdby_11 VALID_FOR'"

    *. LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_1 = 'ENABLE '.
    *. LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_STATE_2 = 'ENABLE '.
    *. LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT='%t_%s_%r.arc'
    *. LOG_ARCHIVE_MAX_PROCESSES = 30

    Copied same pfile standby database and set to date follows.

    "* .control_files ='/ < dir > /oradata/stdby_11/stdby_11.ctl','/ < dir > / fra_stdby/stdby_11/stdby_11.ctl".
    * .db_name = "orcl1102".
    * .db_unique_name = "stdby_11".
    *. FAL_CLIENT = "stdby_11."
    *. FAL_SERVER = "orcl11020."
    db_file_name_convert ='/ < dir >/oradata/orcl11020 ',' / < dir >/oradata/stdby_11 '
    log_file_name_convert ='/ < dir >/oradata/orcl11020 ',' / < dir >/oradata/stdby_11 ',' / < dir > / oradata/orcl11020/redo_mem ',' / < dir > / oradata/stdby_11/redo_mem '
    standby_file_management = auto
    * .log_archive_dest_1 = "LOCATION = / < dir > / fra_stdby/STDBY_11/archivelog"
    VALID_FOR = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES) db_unique_name = stdby_11'
    * .log_archive_dest_2 = "SERVICE = orcl11020 LGWR ASYNC VALID_FOR = (ONLINE_LOGFILES, PRIMARY_ROLE)
    db_unique_name = orcl11020'

    3. Add the relevant information in tnsnames.ora and listener.ora files and restart the listener.
    3 created the file password with the same credentials as database primary.
    4.up - to-date RMAN backup primary database available.
    5. create controlfile standby with rman
    While the primary database s open (I tried with a primary database in montage mode as well).

    $> rman/paswd@rman for catalog rman target /.
    RMAN > BACKUP CURRENT CONTROLFILE TO SLEEP;

    6. open a new terminal standby base and start in nomount mode using the settings created - file
    $> ORACLE_SID = stdby_11
    $> export ORACLE_SID
    $> sqlplus / as sysdba
    SQL > STARTUP NOMOUNT pfile =' < rental/initfilename.ora '
    SQL > quit
    $> rman AUXILIARY / target sys/passwd@orcl11020 catalog rman/passwd@rman
    RMAN > duplicate TARGET DATABASE ENSURES DORECOVER;

    RMAN ends without error but the archive logs is not eliminated. Looking at the newspaper, following caught my eye.

    Logging of 1017 errors received on the eve
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    Verify that the primary and standby use a password file
    and remote_login_passwordfile shared or EXCLUSIVE.
    and the SYS password is the same password files.
    error ORA-16191
    ------------------------------------------------------------
    FAL [client, ARC2]: error 16191 connection at orcl11020 for the extraction of the gap sequence
    Errors in file /<>dir > / diag/rdbms/stdby_11/stdby_11/trace/stdby_11_arc2_24321.trc:
    ORA-16191: customer main newspaper not connected waiting for shipment
    Errors in file / < dir > / diag/rdbms/stdby_11/stdby_11/trace/stdby_11_arc2_24321.trc:
    ORA-16191: customer main newspaper not connected waiting for shipment

    Thus on primary and standby I confirmed

    SQL > show parameter remote_login_passwordfile

    VALUE OF TYPE NAME
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------
    Remote_login_passwordfile string EXCLUSIVE

    Make double sure that the password files are the same, I stop databases, delete the password and recreated with the same credentials.
    Password files are called - orapworcl11020 and orapwstdby_11

    Can someone guide me where thisngs wrong here please.

    How did you create your file of passwords on the rescue system?

    I will consider your entire post and see what jumps.

    * 3. Created the file password with the same credentials as primary database.*

    You cannot create the password on the eve of 11.1 from file. You must COPY the password from the primary to the wait for passwords to match. What I do, is copy and rename.

    E.g.

    I copy orapwPRIMARY to the standby server and rename it orapwSTANDBY

    (Your names varies)

    It could start to work if you do this with a stop and restart of recovery on the day before. Newspapers make up probably just.

    If you find this helpful please mark as well.

    Best regards

    A few things about the parameters (they can make no difference)

    This

    Log_archive_dest_1 =' LOCATION = /

    /flash_recovery_area/ORCL11020/archivelog VALID_FOR = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES) db_unique_name = orcl11020'

    Would it be

    Log_archive_dest_1 =' LOCATION = USE_DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST VALID_FOR = (ALL_LOGFILES, ALL_ROLES) db_unique_name = orcl11020'

    Not sure that you need.

    LOG_ARCHIVE_FORMAT='%t_%s_%r.arc'

  • Problem with different ASM disaster recovery start - new

    Hello together,

    I had an old net here about it but now will not solve the problem with the points in the old thread. Here's the old: https://community.oracle.com/thread/3608049?start=0 & tstart = 0

    I'm doing a disaster recovery with the 'apex11A' on a new server database, which has an another ASM starts. The old man starts is '+ DGA112_1' and '+ FRA112_1', newcomers are called '+ DATA_QUM169' and '+ FRA_QUM169 '. I changed the settings in the spfile restored by writing in a pfile file and creating the spfile from pfile.

    I tried in several ways. First lay the new ASM with RMAN to the course:

    run
    {
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATABASE TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    restore database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    switch datafile all;
    switch tempfile all;
    recover database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    }

    Then I tried it in RMAN by defining the new ASM for each data file:

    run
    {
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 1 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 2 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 3 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 4 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 5 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 6 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 7 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 8 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 9 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 10 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 11 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 12 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 13 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 14 TO '+DATA_QUM169';

    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 17 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 18 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 19 TO '+DATA_QUM169';
    SET NEWNAME FOR DATAFILE 20 TO '+DATA_QUM169';

    switch tempfile all;
    recover database until LOGSEQ 24286;
    }

    Then I tried the bot in one:

    But my new database will not set the new ASM and I have no why.

    The db_create_file_dest parameter is set correctly, so I think that:

    NAME                                 TYPE        VALUE
    ------------------------------------ ----------- ------------------------------
    db_create_file_dest                  string      +DATA_QUM169

    I forgot something? Would be nice to get help ...

    A big thank you and best regards,

    David

    Your data checkpoint SCN file are in the LOW and HIGH range of the SNA for SEQUENCE 24286.

    Therefore, your UNTIL clause should be 24287 SEQUENCE up to THAT.

  • Problem with the restoration of the database

    Hello world

    I have a strange problem while restoring the database with rman. The problem is that the data are not restored at all.

    Let me show you what I do step by step:

    1. create the test table:

    Table created.

    SQL > insert into values test (1);

    Can someone help me? What I am doing wrong?

    Database is Oracle 11 g with archivelog active

    the recovery was successful, but achieved your goal.

    There are several options to reach your goal to recover your database to a particular State that is point in time.

    1 restore the file of control as noted above. you restore the control file must not be aware of the generated once archivelog that you update your table. IE backup controlfile prior you updatedyour table.

    2. do not apply archivelog all during recovery. You can use SNA, SEQUENCE, RESTORE POINT option of the recover command. This option requires that you open your database with resetlog.

    read: scene of Flashback and the database Point-in - time recovery

    After a restore successful your database (before the recover command), you can "alter database open read-only" to check and confirm the values in the table.

    You don't seem to have a level 0 incremental script.  You would need a level 0 are common (for example weekly or fortnlightly) who would act as the base line for the differential level 1 cumulative runs.  (i.e. a level 0 backup is needed because it must be restored first before restoring level 1 incremental backup).  The full monthly database backup script CAN act as the base line of level 0 to level 1 incremental backups.

  • Problem with actions corrective oem 12 c

    Hi guys!

    I have problem with adding of corrective measures. Every time when I create corrective action (OS script, script RMAN etc) and try to add it to one of our metric of database, to the last step when I need to confirm, OEM sends me to the OEM homepage screen. When go out to check I see that there is no measure of correction applied to all.

    Why? Is this a bug or something else?

    The OS environment where our 12.1.0.3 WHO is 5.8 RHEL.

    I managed to solve my problem. Solution is to turn on compatibility view in Internet Explorer browser while browsing with the OEM console. After that, I was able to apply my corrective without being deported back to the home page. Now my metric Action Corr. and I can use this feature.

  • With RMAN for backup, but not with the archive logs

    We run a 10.2.0.4 database and the rest 11.2.0.3. All databases are on RHEL 5.7.

    Our backups are via RMAN, with the data files, controlfiles and spfile saved to disk, then each day, it is copied off site to a backup server.

    My question is around logs archiving and RMAN.
    Our current situation is:
    -We do not save the logs to archive via RMAN. for example: backup of the list of the archivelog all; gives "specification does not match backups in the repository.
    -We set the archive_lag_target so archiving logs is produced every 30 minutes.
    -a cron job running on a remote server runs periodically to synchronize data (rsync server) the directory of archives with a remote control.
    -daily archive logs on the server host are bzip. Purge of these newspapers is scheduled for more than 3 days rman 'window of recovery '.

    I'm interested in feedback as to if our strategy around archiving logs is correct or not.

    Should we be backup logs archiving via RMAN? Are there potential problems with our approach?
    We just kept our backups in this way the DBA in the past want to see newspapers archived as opposed to it while a backupset.

    Curious to know what others are doing.

    Hello

    Welcome to OTN!

    Archivelogs with RMAN backup is a better option. When the archives are supported by RMAN, RMAN would be aware of the backup items which are required at the time of the recovery archives. You don't have to do it manually.

    On the disk space, you can delete the archives once they were saved by RMAN.

    RMAN > delete any backup archivelog entry;

    This supports the archivelogs and then remove the archives from the disk.

    If you have a dataguard configured, you can set the deletion policy 'applied on Eve', which removes the archives as and when they are applied to the database ensures there by the management of disk space again.

    RMAN > configure archivelog political of deletion to applied pending;

    Hello world

    I try to configure DB Oracle 11g network for duplication of the DB and respectively for DATA GUARD and I face the problem with the network of the DB. I can't realize the basic problem. The problem is that after I connect to the DB with the name of the network service, I can't do anything. I get ORA-01034: ORACLE is not available
    Please help me solve this problem. I already do several times in 11.2.0.3.0 without any problem. :(

  • with RMAN to create ensures only one instance of node 2 rac

    Any advice on the RMAN command to take a rman full catalog not saving a rac two node 11 GR 2 and use it to create the single instance of the day BEFORE.

    The two-node RAC instance is in ASM (Linux)
    The physics of the day before is Normal (Linux) file system

    The command I get from Metalink suggests:
    RMAN target sys/passwd@primary catalog RMAN/RMAN@RMAN auxiliary sys/passwd
    RMAN > run {}
    allocate auxiliary channel C1 device type disk;
    target database duplicate for standby;
    }

    When I took the rman backup I did not catalog. Please suggest how to accomplish the same task without a catalog. Thank you

    There is no such thing as "FRA".

    This isn't a connectivity problem. This error indicates that there is no such thing as the required backup file.

    First of all, it looks like you do a double normal to RMAN. In order to follow this, you should take backup of the primary database before and later, copy it to the standby server and mention the exact path in the db_file_name_convert and log_file_name_convert database settings waiting.

    You can see MOS * no step-by-step Guide to creating a physical document Eve on Normal file system for ASM primary with RMAN [838828.1 ID] *.

    Second, since you are on 11.2, you can make use of the active database feature of Oracle 11 g 2, which does not require you to initially last backup of the primary database create standby database.

  • Problems with duplicate DATA when the data file was added after the backup completes

    Hello

    I am facing a problem when running of duplicate database with the command of database duplicate RMAN on a 10 g database. If I have the duplication from a full backup that is missing a data file that has been added to the database after the full backup of preforms, I get the following error message:
    Starting restore at 10-10-2009 18:00:38

    released channel: t1
    released channel: t2

    RMAN-06026: some targets not found - aborting restore
    RMAN-06100: no channel to restore a backup or copy of datafile 43
    Redo log which was Pond at the time of the creation of 43 of the data file is also available in the backups. It seems that RMAN cannot use the log information archived redo to restore the content of the data file 43. I guess that because failure is already reported in the RESTORATION and not in the RECOVERY phase, so again the archived logs are not available yet. I get the same message even if I do another backup of the data file 43 (so a backup that is not in the same backupset as the backup to all the other data files).
    The script, the command duplicate product, I guess that RMAN reads the contents of the source database controlfile and trying to get a backup that contains all the data files to restore the database Assistant - if such a backup is not found, it fails.

    Of course, if I try to perform a restore/recovery of the source database, it works without problem:
    RMAN> restore database;

    Starting restore at 13.10.09
    using target database control file instead of recovery catalog
    allocated channel: ORA_DISK_1
    channel ORA_DISK_1: sid=156 devtype=DISK

    creating datafile fno=43 name=F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SOMEDATAFILE01.DBF
    channel ORA_DISK_1: starting datafile backupset restore
    channel ORA_DISK_1: specifying datafile(s) to restore from backup set
    restoring datafile 00001 to F:\ORA10\ORADATA\SOVDEV\SYSTEM01.DBF
    .....
    The 43 data file is re-created and then redo is applied to the course.

    So, does anyone know if the duplicate database can use archived redo logs to recreate the contents of a data file, as does a normal restore/recovery? If this is the case, then it is necessary to perform a full backup before each duplicated if a data file has been added after such a backup database.

    Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Kind regards
    Swear

    Hi swear,.

    I got exactly the same problem during replication.
    Because we backup archive logs every 6 hours with rman, I added an additional block of running this script.
    run
    {
    backup incremental level 0
    format "% d_ % s_ %%t p_ bk_ '.
    filesperset 4
    database not saved;
    }

    (I also hit a bug in the catalogue which was resolved by patching up the dbs catalog 11.1.0.6, 11.1.0.7 for.)

    This will restrict the data not making file not part of any backup rman 6 hours while jumping for which there is already a backup of data files.

    Kind regards
