  I have ower vCenter Server 4.0 Update 1 upgrade in December, somehow the version number is not right.

  The build number of the show is always 208111 if I trie to reinstall the update 1 only, I can completely uninstall the vCenter Server.

  The vCenter Server Loggenerator also shows me the 208111 build.

• Problem with VCenter, and VM of not listed in the use of resources

  We recently had a problem with a power being pulled cable and now things are a little twisted...  We had to reboot our servers (ESX1 and ESX2) ESX and VCenter.   ESX1 said that HA had been disabled and restarting didn't help, so we chose the command to 'Reconfigure for VMWare HA'.

  And now, after he reconfigured, it's what we have: ESX1 12 virtual machines on it, and ESX2 4.  ESX2 shows consumption of the normal resources of the virtual machines that are on, however, ESX1 says that there are 3 VMs on, but none of them use ANY resource.

  I've attached a screenshot of what I'm going to have to explain.  It is not sensible.  I can connect to the VMs that are lit on ESX1 3, but as far as VCenter is concerned, they are not using any CPU or mem...

  Windows is a true multitasking operating system... It can START and LOCK at the same time!

  a few other things you can try would be to shut down a virtual machine, remove from the inventory, then "add to the inventory.

  As I said, all sources of data in the console of wl appear to be correctly configured with the option "Not packaged data items of Type" not selected.   Hi I have recently updated my old server from client to vCenter 4.1 virtualized VI, sitting on my 3.5 cluster.  I intend to use the Update Manager to upgrade my guests, but I don't know how the virtual vCenter server is going to face?  The plan was: 1. move all the virtual machines off-host 1.  2 put the host in maintenance mode 1. 3. on the vCenter server, create a base, then line at host level 1 to 4.1. 4. now - at this point add this host in the cluster? And migrate the server vCenter top, so I can upgrade the other two hosts?  If the works above, then it should be quite a nice update, if you cannot add the new version of the host of back in, how you vMotion the vCenter server off so you can keep control of the cluster.

  IMO, it should work. To upgrade from 3.5 to 4.1, your ESX host must be in 5 update (see http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere4/r41/vsp_41_upgrade_guide.pdf) already.

  If VMotion or migrate the server vCenter Server - for some reason-does not work, you can delete vCenter Server of the inventory of the old host and add to the inventory of the new host.

  It is a known issue, relating to the collection of historical data being enabled (nonzero) in the properties of the VMWare Agent on the Agent status screen.

  Change to 0 to disable/re-enable the agent and it should fix the problem.

  Please open a ticket of level 1 with telephone support if you need more help.
