I restarted bit keep getting option start normally or run repair program. ATER prog of running repair, he says he could not solve the problem and only asked if I wanted to report it. Computer wont even start in safe mode. Damage in the registry? Anyway my computer software was loaded at the factory and I don't have a recovery with her disk. Is there anyway that I can enter the partision to reload Vista? Otherwise, someone ' one can suggest how to fix my startup boot up?

    Hi coopervane,

You can try a system restore by booting from the Windows Vista disc. Will need you the Windows Vista disc to do an offline system restore. You may need to contact the manufacturer of the computer or make arrangements for any Windows Vista disk that will help you start the computer and go to optins Startup Repair tool.

To use offline system restore, you must have a Windows Vista CD or DVD. In addition, your computer must be configured to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. In some cases, you may need to change the settings of the BIOS on the computer to configure the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive. For more information on the configuration of the computer to start from the CD-ROM or DVD drive, see your computer documentation or contact the manufacturer of the computer. A recovery disk will not help, because it will erase all your data.

First of all, start the computer from the reader. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Insert the Windows Vista CD / DVD and restart the computer.

    2. When you receive the following message appears, press a key:

Press any key to start from the CD or DVD.

    3. set the following preferences, and then click Next:

    o language to install

    o time and currency formats

    o keyboard or input method

Then, use the offline System Restore to remove the service pack of Windows Vista. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. click on repair your computer, select the operating system you want to repair if necessary and then click Next.

    2. click on System Restore, and then click Next.

    3. click about to restore that corresponds to the date of installation of the service pack. The Restore Point will be labeled either install: Windows Update or install: Windows Vista Service Pack .

4 confirm the disk hard that you want to restore, and then click Next.

    5. click Finishand then click Yes when you are prompted.

    6. when the system restore process is complete, click restart to restart the computer.

    7. when the computer restarts, click close to confirm that the system restore completed successfully.

I hope this information is useful.

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

  • problems after downloading windows xp service pack 3

I recently downloaded service pack 3 on my advent T12. It seemed to download very well and when it restarts automatically he started very well too, but when I tried to restart it then the log on screen did not appear; It started to load as usual and the screen with the windows logo appears, but then after that it was just a black screen, if the computer was still running. I was able to boot in SafeMode ok and took the restore point. After that it restarted again as usual, but I have no sound. I have a device high definition audio C-media. You can hear the sounds system, but nothing about DVD or music files. When I go to Device Manager it isn't even an audio device listed. I tried to download the driver from the microsoft update catalog, but I have no idea what to do with a .cab file once its downloaded. Whenever I restart my computer, looking for a PCI device it says that it cannot find the software. I've downloaded SP3 again and when I do it locates new peripherals - audio on bus high definition audio and successfully downloaded the software and I have her again but am back to the problem of having no log on screen! This time I uninstalled SP 3 in the Panel, and he warned me it would be it would cause a problem with the audio device. So I can SP2 with no sound, but the computer starts very well or SP3 with the sound, but it won't restart. I searched and searched on the internet and on the site of microsoft for some answers, but I'm a loss. Please can anyone suggest a solution? I'm not overwhelmingly technical. Thank you

Also nothing. Along with a check disk hard I did not find much either. What end of the lifecycle for this computer, now about 3 years? He was one of the first available vista computers. • I have Vista 64 and when I download Windows Vista Service Pack 1, I lose my system. I'm trying to upgrade to Windows 7 64.

My Vista system has crashed into two different time after I was told to put in Vista Service Pack 1 level. The system tells me to do Service Pack 1 before I can run Windows 7 64.

Backup of personal data (which none should be considered 100% reliable at this point) then do a format and clean install of Vista 64-bit.  Please note that a repair installation (upgrade AKA on-site) won't fix this!

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything on the next page before connecting the machine to the internet or a network otherwise and before using a USB key that is not brand new, or has not been freshly formatted:

5 steps to help protect your new computer before going online
         http://www.Microsoft.com/protect/computer/advanced/XPPC.mspx

After taking care of all the foregoing, Windows Update will eventually offer several SP1 prerequisite updates (e.g., http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955430;) ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821) and then SP1 itself. After that you got SP1 installed, you will be able to run Win7 64-bit.

If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and independent computer (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) repair facility.
