Problems after installing updates in Windows 7

After you install the updates that have been downloaded automatically, I was commissioned to do a reboot. Yes, I did. Now I have all the icons on my desktop, just the words. Even on Windows Explorer and my computer seems to run slower. I tried to restore to an earlier date (yesterday), but he said that he did not. I use a laptop HP9420US with windows 7 Ultimate and office 2007.
Thank you for your help.
Joe

Updated - I reinstalled Windows 7 for the 7th time. Just look at thise MS Updates.

Arona,
Thank you for your suggestions.
I tried method 1 the first time I recognized that there was a problem. Nothing has changed.
I just tried method 2 with the same result. I have now many files with IconCache.db.old and
No new (rebuilt) IconCache.db.
I don't have the operation of the start menu. I clicked and nothing happens. I can right click
on it and see properties and open Windows Explorer. I have to use Ctrl Alt Del to
to stop.
I ran the program Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and it found nothing.
Now my individual windows seem to be transparent at the edges.
I really want to re - install Windows 7 for the 7th time. MS downloads
He screwed up, and I'd like to return to a correct functioning.
Updated - I can't find any file IconCache.db now. What now?
Thank you for your help.

I met a problem after installing KB978338. The update installs without error or problem, but the system is extremely inadmissible after the reboot. Normally opens the Task Manager and system seems inactive, but you try to start a new application from the Task Manager gave an error "hose is not valid.

System is Vista Home Premium SP2 installed without any obvious problems before the update. Start the system restore and go back to immediately before the update of the results in the system back to normal functionality and responsiveness.

I've never seen or either of these mistakes before and my research has not yet been able to find something similar, so I am at a loss to start this kind of problem with an update of troubleshooting.

Please tell us how can I still troubleshoot or solve this problem.

So I "hid" the update and you call this one closed without resolution.

While the overall rating of gravity for KB978338 is moderate (critical vs), it of still a security update and must be installed.

  • HP EliteBook 850 G3: HP EliteBook 850 G3: its problems after the update of Windows 10 anniversary

    Hi people!

After the update of Windows 10 birthday I have problems with my sound card. There are two sound cards listed by Device Manager. The first is "Conexant Audio of ISST" and the second "Intel High Definition Audio". I know not weather it was the case before the update. I just recognized it after the update when I had sound problems.

In any case, on a sound start works on the other boot it does not work. It seems that Windows chooses the sound card, every time when it starts. Sometimes it takes the bad sound card.

I tried to uninstall maps its and their resettlement. On the HP site, there is a driver for the Conexant map bot no driver for Intel High Definition Audio card. 10 Windows itself is not find a driver for this sound card. I also tried to reinstall the other drivers, chipset drivers for example. But unfortunately it did not help. I also tried to disable the Intel High Definition Audio, but also without success.

What else can I try? I don't want to reinstall Windows. There must be a solution without this. Any ideas? Here's a screenshot of my device manager, perhaps it helps:

If you need more information, please let me know.

    Best regards

I just tried this driver and I still have sound after 6 resets.

Ko Windows Update the only problem we know refers to the recent screen Windows Update kb wmv 1/2. This issue is highlighted in the ad at the top of the forum. For your convenience, it should look like

If you have already done, faster action would probably be to uninstall the updates immediately preceding the Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 problems appearing. Updates of Windows may have nothing to do with this problem, but to exclude it if she's not involved and fast if it works.

Were you move media source for your projects after projects were closed?

The thing is that a few days before he installed the latest update and after the reboot to finish the installation she never windows again. He continues to send me a black screen where I can choose between:

    safe mode

    safe mode with networking

    safe mode with command prompt

    Start windows normally

and it doesn't matter which I choose, it sends me a blue screen which last less than a second and it restarts again.

I tried pressing F8 and more option appears, but each of them ends up with the same blue screen.

My laptop is a netbook so I don - t have a CD drive on it for wondows stable once again, so please help me!

    Thank you very much!

    Hi marraqueta,.

To disable the automatic restart in case of system error, follow these steps:

    1. reboot your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    2. Select disables automatic system failure reboot when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and press ENTER.

Subsequently, when a problem causes a blue screen of death or another major error that stops the system, the PC will automatically restart. It will be necessary to restart manually.

the start menu is now empty. Why is this? any way I can get it all back?

    thanxs in advance

    Hello

If you had already customized your Start menu, then you will need to return to the store Windows and reinstall applications.

If you see rather Word Apps at the top left, then you are in Apps verses to see the start menu screen. In this case, you should see a small circle with an arrow high inward on the lower left of the screen.  If you click on it, then it will bring you to the start menu. When you are on the screen applications all, then right click on any of the tiles and select PIN to the menu start going bust this application to the start menu.

  • Problems after installing updates

I use a Web site on the Internet for over 2 years and have NEVER had any problems with it.  From this weekend (after the first - the who - is - it - now? - four sets of updates for you guys) I started having problems with the site.  I don't know what you've done, but I think the filing of a loss of income claim against you!  After each series of updates (that I didn't ask, btw - they start just automatically when I try to shut down my computer! WTH!) the site has gradually become more "defective" and now (after yet another series of updates today) will work AT ALL!  I'm supposed to work here, guys and ya'll made it impossible. I am really so angry, I feel liike I'm having a stroke!

    Hi sherrysk8,

    1. which site are you trying to access?

    2. what happens when you try to access the Web site?

    3. you receive an error message?

    4. what web browser do you use?

Note: Try the procedure only if you use the web browser Internet explorer below.

    Method 1

Check Add-ons on Internet Explore to the origin of the problem. I suggest you try opening Internet Explore mode without modules.

    (a) click the Start button, click all programs, and click Accessories

    (b) click System Tools, click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

How the modules of the browser affect my computer?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/how-do-browser-add-ons-affect-my-computer

    Method 2

If the previous step fails then try to reset the internet settings explore by default and check.

For more information please visit the link below.

How to reset Internet Explorer settings

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/923737

Important: Reset Internet explore its default configuration. This step will disable also any add-ons, plug-ins or toolbars that are installed. Although this solution is fast, it also means that, if you want to use one of these modules in the future, they must be reinstalled.

    I hope this helps!
