    Hello Luis

It's really hard to tell what the problem is here. I have Satellite P200D and it's almost the same laptop as yours. I had no problem burning CD, DVD data and also the film to DVD using Nero 8. I prefer Nero burning software and I did several tests with the trial version. It works perfectly.

I also burned data DVDs using option of Vista and there is no problem at all. I have a TS-L632D. Maybe you should contact the service provider in your country. They check the disc.

  • Problems burning discs with toast

I have problems burning discs using toast. I had with my old Toast 10, and the problem persists despite an update of Toast Titanium 14, so I assume that the problem is with my mac and not the toast. This happens with all types of disks, but is less common with data records that are not too big. I receive pop-up messages such as: -.

    Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR

    Sense Code = 0x0C

    WRITE ERROR

I have defraged my drive and controls with TechTool Pro, but it does not help.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Rob

This error is a response is received from the reader, by Toast.   This means that the drive has reported a class specific (key) and error type (code).  In this case, involving a class of errors appearing with the recording medium and the specific error returned is a clerical error.   This means that the write failed.   Why writing has failed is not returned, neither the player nor the Toast in particular knows that.

Apply current patches for your version of Toast, if you are not already underway.  This may correct the incompatibilities with some kind of recording media and some readers work.  There is much more variability here with the media and readers than most people imagine.   Try another drive for registration.   Try different media - an any other brand, preference.    Try a cleaning optical media disc.   Dusty heads can cause this type of error.  Definitely try record to the low speed allowing the unit and the way, too.

So - if the above fails, please report the problem and specific recording media used (it can be data saving these settings on optical, data supports that aimed to help the reader to adapt to specific media) and the optical drive model, for the folks at Roxio.

Defragmenting disks and technology tools and the rest probably aren't relevant here, unfortunately.  (I don't remember offhand if a failure to get pretty quickly the data on the disk - defragmentation is intended to address - indicates an error in writing or not, but I wouldn't bet on that there is correspondence sane with any of the optical device errors.)  Optical drives are basic devices and semi unreliable in general, no two revisions of the firmware on the optical drives are never the same and sometimes not even two disks with the same firmware revision, optical drives getting harder and more fragmentary with age, and optical media itself can be wonderfully flaky.   That to have written more than a small optical recording software.)

  • Compaq Presario SR1901WM: Problems burning

Hi, everyine, I'm having a problem with my Presario SR1901WM. I'm running Windows XP, SP3, all installed updates. The problem is, when I try to burn a CD, it stops after about 45 seconds, a tray open the CD and I get an error message, there was problem burn your CD, you can try again with another CD, or cancel. I tried with 2 different programs of engraving, Sonic Digital Media Home and CD Burner XP, same thing. I tried 2 different burners, a Sony DRU-840 has and a DVD Super-Multi 16 X on a Compaq SR5613WM, and the same thing happens. I tried both programs with two burners with the same result. I did a full check disk, including scanning for and attempt recovery of bad sectors and a disk defragmentation. Always the same thing. I tried 3 different brands of media, still no CD. Anyone has an idea on what's going on?

Well, it doesn't seem to be a problem.  The problem is that all displayed disks are old and it could still be a bad drive.

In addition, being that the computer in question is 2006 it could just be that the interface for the player is bad.  The SR1901WM is a technical computer limited, but it should still be able to burn a CD.  If the means to burn it on a CD are necessary, in this old computer, I would first try another IDE port for the DVD/CD player see if that's the problem.  A different ribbon cable would be the next option.  Finally, try an external box that can connect the drive or a connector like this: http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-USB-DSC5-3-5-Inch-Converter-Adapter/dp/B000HJ99DI

If the last option is chosen, then all mentioned discs can be checked to see if one of them works, or borrow another drive to the test.  Then report on the results.

  • DVD and CD burning problems. "There was a problem burning this disc."

My Windows 7 64-bit is used to burn CDs and DVDs fine, but has developed a problem burning CD, DVD and Blu - ray using the software's built-in windows.  Both drives burn perfectly well using third-party software 3rd IMGburn, that leads me to conclude that this is a specific Windows problem.

I have two drives, one is an Asus DRW-24B1ST CD/DVD burner and the other is a cd/dvd/blu-ray burner Lite-On iHBS112.  No reader is going to burn any type of disc as controlled, that is to say: "with a CD/DVD drive.  The only way a disc will burn, but if I select 'like a USB flash drive"I don't want to do.

If I select to burn as a mastered disc I get this error:

Sometimes drivers that Windows installs are not as effective - especially if you have recently upgraded to Windows 10.

  • Laptop HP Notebook: problems burning to a cd

    Hello

I have a HP Notebook Laptop, which is around the age of 6 months. It has 10 Windows and a microprocessor to Intel i3.

I am trying to take the audio portion of a music/concert DVD and burn it to a CD. But I'm having all sorts of problems.

Initially, a friend of the family (which is more capable that I am) has tried to do, but it wouldn't work. With the help of a DVD audio extractor program, it extracted the audio portion of DVD with success. It creates files OGG ("chapters") in a file on the hard drive of my computer. Play the songs on my computer, so I know that the part of this process has been a success.

The problems started when he tried to burn a CD.  He tried to use iTunes, but it does not work. Then, after playing with my computer a bit, he tried something else. The phase of implementation seems to work, but we have received a message saying that it would take more than 24 hours to burn the CD (a little more than 2 hours of music divided into 39 chapters). Is this normal? We stopped the process, and he returned home.

A few days later, I tried it myself. I don't really know what I'm doing because I never tried to burn a CD before. But I watched a vidoe HP/Youtube on how to do it. I loaded the blank CD and select Windows Media Player. I kept repeatedly trying to move files OGG from my office to the Windows Media Player window. I tried dragging the files OGG to both "drag items here to create a burn list" and the "music library". But it did not work. The OGG files could not get transferred to the burn list, and they kept bouncing on my desk. It's almost as if something blocked files OGG to be transferred to the burn list.

Can someone help me? How can I burn a CD with success in this situation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi banhein,

I clicked on the link and download the free conversion software. Then, I have converted all of the 39 OGG files into MP3 files.

Using Windows Media Player, I then dragged on 39 MP3 files (which were already ideally in the library). And I burned 2 CDs. Audio total has been more than 2 hours, so I had to split between 2 CDs. But it was easy once the files have been converted into MP3 files.

I tested the two CD in my stereo system CD player, and it worked!

In my opinion, the most difficult part of this whole process has convert OGG files to MP3 files (which I didn't even know I had to do it before I asked your advice). Once the files have been converted to MP3 files, the rest was a snap.

I thank very you much for your help and advice. I couldn't have done it without you.

    Hello

Don't you know that the use of the incorrect firmware or not is not compatible would be detrimental to your CD/DVD drive?
You should only use the firmware provided by Toshiba.

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found 6 different firmware updates.
There are updates for the reader:
    TS-L633P, TS-L633A DVRTD08A, DVRTD08L, TS-L632P TS-L632H

You got the message because it seems that you used the wrong firmware or is not compatible!

So if you want to Flash the firmware using the Toshiba files European page:

by the way: some disc can cause some problems if different test types of disks from different manufacturers.

HI - can anyone help? I am not able to burn discs, although I can play audio CDs. With the help of the software preinstalled but RecordNow error message which is no recorder. Help - please!
Tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers...

    Hello

I guess this problem is new and you were able to burn and play media in the past
So everything looks like a hardware fault and replace the drive seem to be absolutely necessary.

But have you tested several media? Have you tried to burn the CD or DVD with software like Nero? The RecordNow is not my favorite.

    You said
    > Have tried to uninstall and reinstall the drivers
Can I ask how did you that? The CD/DVD drive using the common Windows driver and it s not necessary to install additional drivers.
By the way; you won't find any special drivers designed for the CD/DVD drive.

However, please also check if this Microsoft solution can help you:

  • DVD UJ820s problems burning

HI, I got my A60 for almost 2 years, it is covered by the extended warranty from PC World. I receive the error message when burning DVDs. With Sonic Record now it tells me that the disc is dirty or scratched, even when you use the new tape drives. I tried to use different brand names. With another shareware program, I said that there is an error with the power calibration area (1048).

The drive is a uj820s. The error occurs regardless of whether if I use + or - disks. However, the CD burning ok.

PC world have replaced the DVD Player 2 times and I'm just starting again with the same problem. It seems that a new drive is not the problem.

The files I'm burning are no single type. They really are AVI, mp3s, JPEG, TIFF, all types of files.

    Any ideas?

    Hello Nick

You have really no chance with the reader so twice traded in just two years. Do you use it intensely?

I put t really know what the problem is here because I read many other forums where users report same topic on different laptops with different readers. Of course, it is not portable or player involved.

    My suggestion is to track:
    (1) remove all the pre-installed burning applications restart the device
    (2) remove the restart Device Manager CD/DVD reader unit
    (3) install Nero burning software (a really good)
    (4) forward:
-Start > Control Panel > administrative tools > services > IMAPI CD-Burning COM service properties
-under set to disabled startup type.
    (5) try to create a DVD-R and DVD - RW support using the minimum burn speed
    (6) please let know us if you can clear or full format of DVD - RW media
    (7) use different media on minimum burning speed

I must say that I am really lucky. I have my unit almost 3 years and the CD/DVD works like the first day.

  • Qosmio G40: Problem burning DVD-R HD

    Hello

I have a problem with my G40 equipped with a reader of SD-L902a. In simple words: I can't burn HD DVD-R discs.

The disks I use are PHILIPS HD DVD-R (single side, 15 GB). The guy at the shop of media said there should be no problems with compatibility, because this SD-L902a is the ONLY hd - dvd burner on the market right now. It would be illogical for Philips sell records which are not compatible with anything, wouldn't it? ;-)

Anyway, I tried to use both Disc Creator of Toshiba and the new Nero 8.

Toshiba sweet, when I load the HD DVD-R in the drive, I see an icon with a sign saying: this disc can not be written. In the 'disc info' box in Nero it says it's an HD DVD-R, but the available size is 0 and I can not burn (it says "insert writable media").

I have 4 HD DVD-r and they all have the same... What plan you could be the problem?

    Hello Tom

I think you are the first person with this problem and I'm really curious to know if anyone can offer any explanation. The fact is that this CURIOUS is the first designed for HD-DVD-R virgins.

Maybe the laser cannot be placed in the right position. You have problems, watch HD-DVD movies?

Have you tried a few different brands of media? Sometimes the burner just don't like some discs. If so, the only thing I can think of to try is to boot from a Linux Live USB and see if it can burn DVDs from a Linux program as k3b for burning. That solve a software problem (Windows).
