Compaq Presario SR1901WM: Problems burning

Hi, everyine, I'm having a problem with my Presario SR1901WM. I'm running Windows XP, SP3, all installed updates. The problem is, when I try to burn a CD, it stops after about 45 seconds, a tray open the CD and I get an error message, there was problem burn your CD, you can try again with another CD, or cancel. I tried with 2 different programs of engraving, Sonic Digital Media Home and CD Burner XP, same thing. I tried 2 different burners, a Sony DRU-840 has and a DVD Super-Multi 16 X on a Compaq SR5613WM, and the same thing happens. I tried both programs with two burners with the same result. I did a full check disk, including scanning for and attempt recovery of bad sectors and a disk defragmentation. Always the same thing. I tried 3 different brands of media, still no CD. Anyone has an idea on what's going on?

Well, it doesn't seem to be a problem.  The problem is that all displayed disks are old and it could still be a bad drive.

In addition, being that the computer in question is 2006 it could just be that the interface for the player is bad.  The SR1901WM is a technical computer limited, but it should still be able to burn a CD.  If the means to burn it on a CD are necessary, in this old computer, I would first try another IDE port for the DVD/CD player see if that's the problem.  A different ribbon cable would be the next option.  Finally, try an external box that can connect the drive or a connector like this: http://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-USB-DSC5-3-5-Inch-Converter-Adapter/dp/B000HJ99DI

If the last option is chosen, then all mentioned discs can be checked to see if one of them works, or borrow another drive to the test.  Then report on the results.

  • No disk bootable on Compaq Presario CQ42 problem

    Hello

I recently came across a problem with my laptop Compaq Presario CQ42-117TX. I had a few regular updates installed and when I tried to restart the computer to complete the update, it starts for a long time then usual before flashing a blue screen for a second and then blacking out.

When I restarted it again, he said he had no hard drive detected. I ran a check of the system BIOS and he could not run a quick test on the hard drive. When I try to turn it on normally, it goes to a black screen with a few details on the material inside and the last line reading "no bootable disc - insert boot disk and press any key any."

Any help would be highly appreciated.

    Thank you!

I ask help for my huge problem. My laptop doesn't boot.

First of all, I got problem with my admin user account. It has no boot at all. Error: "your user account only missed. We could not load it. SRY. "

Well, I made a bootable USB Flash drive. Windows 7 installation package. I tried to start my computer several times USB key to install new windows. It never not worked. I look at bios Boot media is the USB HARD DISK.

Then I losed my nerves.  I did a rom of DVD of windows 7. I put the dvd in cd rom. Then shutdown computer. Launch it and press F9 to get the boot media. I choose CD DVD ROM for the start.

Then my computer freeze totally... I couldn't do nothing. I wait 2 hours nothing happens. Then I stop at powerbutton force.

Now my computer starts is completely destroyed upwards. It works the bios very well, but after that, he's trying to run windows. It freezes.

She's everywhere. I try to run the factory settings. Gel

I try to start the installation of windows 7 dvd rom. gel

Flash drive USb does not even start.

Try to go normal boot freeze after executing the bios image. He tries to run the window loading logo, but it fails and freeze.

I already have, I thought that my HARD drive is golden. But I did a test boot and bios. It is not very well. None does not at all. So, it shouldn't be broken?

I tried to do something strange reset HARD drive. Unplug all at my feeder area for computer laptop battery. And push power button 30 sec. But it has no effect at all.

None does not work should I buy a new HARD drive "?" or is my just locked HARD drive or somethng?

  • Keyboard on Compaq Presario CQ60 problem

My daughter has a CQ60 notebook that was working fine this morning, but this afternoon the Q W E R U I O and P keys have stopped responding. I could check, all other keys are not affected. Any suggestion would be gratly appreciated.

Before I / we assume that the keyboard is bad you need to reinstall the driver, that seems to never work, but we should give it a shot anyway. Go to the control panel and find the Device Manager. Click on that and find "Keyboard" in the list, click the small arrow to decompress. Right-click on the keyboard and choose to uninstall the driver, ignore the warning and continue. You will be prompted to restart the computer and start it will automatically reinstall the driver.

Here is your service manual and a few videos in the media library of the HP Services.

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02985882.PDF  Look on page 4-18 and a bit beyond. Be very careful when you remove the cable from the ZIF connector on the motherboard, if you break that he condemns the whole motherboard.

http://h20574.www2.HP.com/default.htm?lang=en&cc=us&hpappid=psml  If you have difficulties to navigation in your model and videos, post again and I'll give you some instructions. Give the page time video too load. Yours is very easy to remove, there are 3 screws marked with a symbol inside the battery bay keyboard that hold it in place and it throws just to go to the nearest rear of the screen.

Once, you get to the video page, navigate to the keyboard in the left column.

Note that it does not list the CQ60-200 series, but the 100 series is the same.

You can also order the keyboard of HP once, you know the part number, it will be at the back of the keyboard ending with

-001.  You will pay bonus for it through HP and you will not be able to order the parts anyway, I discovered that it is only available in the United States, it is perhaps different in the United Kingdom.

  • Compaq Presario CQ4010F: Problem of block of POWER Possible on Compaq Presario CQ4010F

Yesterday, the computer turns off by itself.  When I rebooted, it again stopped three times until finally, he wouldn't do anything.  Here are the troubleshoorting things I did so far: while the POWER supply light is on (not flashing) whenevery I push the Start button, the Start button light and the two connected fans, but the motherboard, as well as the fan on the flicker of the PSU momentarily, then there is nothing.  The light goes off, and whenever I have the light on unplug and plug the power cord in the same thing happens again and again.  This is after I unplugged all of the PSU except for the connector on the motherboard.  Could this be a faulty PSU?

    Hello

You must have the connector 24-pin and 4-pin ATX connector connected to the motherboard. If you are still having the same problem then try a replacement power.  A competent local PC repair shop should be able to test your power supply.

However, based on your other posts, you may have a bad mother in which case I suggest you a new PC.

  • Compaq Presario 2700 windows 7 CD/DVD/RW problems

Hello, I have a laptop Compaq Presario 2700 and it won't play all the discs in the cd rom. It WILL eject it and try to load it because it I can hear and see turn but then my computer tells me to insert a disc. Windows Media player and Nero all say the same thing. Ive updated all drivers and my computer says there is NO problem. However my smart, family of Mobile Intel 965 express chip card is having issues ive uninstalled and reinstalled and nothing works. I seatched my computer and before I upgtaded for Windows 7, the smart card has a chipset 945 express. Help! I love my rock ' n roll and burning cd and its been almost a year without my cd/dvd. Thank you very much Karen

When you insert a disc, you are able to view the data on the drive in Windows Explorer?  Since you have attempted to load the non - RW disks and still nothing happens that looks like it could be the drive itself.  Did you go to the Web of Compaq site to check for the latest drivers, firmware and any type of updates?

  • Problems with Compaq Presario 5BW220 RAM

This office is 8 years old and supposedly supports 512 MB memory SDRAM PC100.

Recently, I worked on this for my son-in-law.  It came with 64 MB of SDRAM PC100 and Windows Millennium Edition.  I tried to install 2-256 MB memory SDRAM PC133 maximum amount supported RAM, but it refused to start.  I replaced every 256 MB module with a 128 MB PC100 module and managed to do start.  I expected to read 384, but he will read only 256 MB.  I had not all PC100 256 MB modules to use.  I finally installed modules from 2 to 128 MB PC100 and he left like that.

I never had a problem in the past with an old desk accepting a combination of PC100 and PC133 modules, so it was a first for me.

The Compaq Presario 5BW220 have a problem with the acceptance of this combination, and she actually says a maximum of 512 MB?

This could be useful in the future:

    http://www.crucial.com/

If you click "scan my system" he can tell you all sorts of things on the RAM.

I have a system built home (with all the paperwork by moving the boxes...) who had a chip spoil.  I could not remember what RAM took it and I didn't go root through the boxes in the garage. =)

Their scanning system could not see what kind of memory I had, but he told me exactly what my motherboard could support. (Type and max of 1 GB per slot)  He even suggested several configurations of memory.

Once I saw what he said, he had, I remembered that I had bought before and it didn't fit.

  • Problem with the Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX

Hello, I'm having a problem with my NEW Compaq Presario CQ60-216DX mother. Every time it boots up vista and I run internet explorer, I get a strange blue screen which exports a file memory and reboots.

I have the feeling that this might have been caused by a virus, but I can't do something, because Vista can't reformat long for some reason any.

I tried a hard test in my motherboard and he said that there is something wrong with my hard drive.

I don't know what is happening, right now I'm in safe mode trying to find viruses that Nod32 does not detect everything.

Can someone tell me how I can get either the Windows XP Discs to work at startup (which, for some reason, they do not), or an alternative to a long format?

Is there a way to fix this without reformatting? There's almost nothing on this laptop anyway so I'm always willing to do. A regular format has done nothing to solve the problem, I did it with Ubuntu and it did a quick format, but I had no problem with Ubuntu. Then I reinstall Vista and I am constantly having problems with a blue screen of death.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    The Chemich does not exist

If you want to do a reinstall of Vista then press F11 continuously during the boot upward. This will bring you in Recovery Options were you can choose to restore the system in the same State as when it was purchased. But if, as you suggested, is that a problem of hard drive reinstall won't help.

  • Compaq Presario CQ56 - :(wireless Internet problem

    Hey everybody,

So I just joined here to see if anyone can help with my problem, because frankly, I'm out of options now about two weeks asking friends and colleagues and searching the Internet for answers to similar problems. I tried twice with the information I found on this site for quite some time and it does not work for me!

In any case, I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ56 laptop. It has been implemented correctly when I bought it, everything worked perfectly. I managed to catch a virus that prevented me from even turn on my computer (which is strange, because I'm not a fool with computers, and I know what not to do/download sites to visit), so I had to restart my computer to stock, I used my Windows 7 disc, partitions formatted and installed windows again.

Now, for some reason it doesn't connects wireless Internet. It connects when I have an ethernet cable connected, but it is not all networks, as shown in this screenshot:

(And also here's a cute Bunny for your pleasure)

So you see my problem it is very frustrating. I don't know what is the cause, but I guess it must be a driver problem? Which is why I write here, if this is indeed in the wrong section, please accept my apologies.

Here is an another screenshots that can help, just in case:

If someone could shed some light on the problem for me, or even to resolve, I'd be very grateful it is extremely annoying. As I said, it works fine when I have my laptop connected to the internet, when I'm in College, but when I come on a weekend, I can't put my laptop, because I only WiFi at home.

    Thanks for reading

    Hayley R

You are the very welcome, Hayley.

The problem is that the needs of the wireless (network controller) one adapter driver installed and here is the link for the driver you need.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-107849-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en

Once you install the driver above, the wireless should work just fine.

    Best regards
