  Hello. I had some problems with my end 2013 27 "iMac. The majority of my problems seems to be turning around not being able to wake from its slumber unless I hard boot the system. I am running the operating system more recent 10.11.3

  Sleep problems have started with my installation of El Capitan. I have reset the PRAM the SMC and have disabled the hibernation and Energy Saver preferences are set to never spin down hard drives or screen saver. Problem persists.

  I also experience unexpected freezes. When these occur usually, audio on my system continues (if listening to iTunes or in a video game, the audio keeps going) but there is no response from the mouse or the movement on the screen at all. key board does not respond and mouse is frozen. The last time I had it's happen I had a panic the kernel to reboot (see below for the report)

  I tried everything I can think of. I've scoured the forums on the internet for help and support. Im not sure if this is hardware or software related. I tried to unplug all of my devices - I have several hard drives USB and Thunderbolt. I have a second monitor connected via the bolt of lightning as well. This could be a video card problem?

  I have used the EtreCheck software and have gotten several things that make me wonder if it's the software however, it seems that somewhere I still have pieces of teamviewer lingering around, even if I had uninstalled the software and I can't find anything in the spotlight for her.   Some things I noticed - I had questions on shut down the system. My computer completely sometimes turns. I have to force quit the finder or the dock still will remain open and prevent the closing down. If this happens, then I need hard closed by pushing the power button until the device turns off. My system is INCREDIBLY slow sometimes since the upgrade as well at el capitan.

  I had a few problems with the big Adobe applications as well - sometimes illustrator or photoshop does any open or apps say they are open in the dock and in the force to quit smoking, but do not show in the activity monitor. In this case I have to restart my system for most work. force quit does not help them.

  Sorry for the long post, but I have worked on Macs since OS7 and even worked in an apple store genius bar for awhile so I generally know what I can do to fix these but I can't get it probably remain fixed. I thought better to have as much information as possible. My next step is to reload the entire OS, but I have a lot of work here that I'm afraid to lose (even though I have several back ups via time machine and other copies on external drives)

  May be required to be on continuously, there seems to be some kind of issue.

  Did you try a reset of the SCM and hope that the problem is solved?

  What does the computer when started in safe mode?

  • Try safe mode if your Mac does not end commissioning - Apple Support

  You have a copy of backup clone of the previous OS X and its applications?

  This is usually a preventive measure to be still able to use the Mac

  an upgrade path does not work as expected, so you have alternative.

  Or you can return to the configuration already in place, in offline mode.

  Please test after taking each of the steps that you have already tried:

  Step 1

  Take all of the measures suggested in this support article, including those under the title "If the previous steps do not work." It is the starting point for a new effort to solve the problem.

  Note that, as stated in the article, the computer will not sleep, if some sharing services are enabled. In the menu bar, select

   ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Sharing

  Disable all sharing services.

  Step 2

  If sharing music iTunes home sharing is enabled, disable it or quit iTunes. Do the same with third-party applications that have a similar feature.

  Step 3

  Select

   ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Accessibility ▹ Speakable Items: Off

  Get it fixed - remade as you suggest, but anything deleted everywhere - Adobe trail of the CC Adobe file downloaded and installed lightroom, that worked. Reinstalled paid 6 Lightroom who worked this time.

  El Capitan after installation I can't simply the iCloud email author; If I go to my e-mail iCloud, I have to manually switch outgoing messages to another e-mail server to transmit.  I tried to reinstall iCloud in the preferences.  No help.  Can someone provide suggestions?  It's crazy collateral damage to my daily routine - I wish honestly I had not installed El Capitan.  My system: iMac G5, OSx10.11.2, Intel Core i5; Processor 2.7 GHz, 4 GB memory.  Thanks to anyone who can help me solve this problem.   Sam W.

  Go to system information and get the model number of your iMac.  It will look like this:

  

  There is no G5 iMac that can run any more recent than 10.5.8 System.  They have all PowerPC processors, Intel that are required for newer systems.

  

• Umlauts, special letters - problem with El Capitan?

  Hello.

  I've lost the ability to write the accents and other special characters in my American keyboard bluetooth.

  Previously, I could write the letter A when I pressed this letter on the keyboard, but also (when I pressed the button for a while) the letter A with an umlaut or an accent as well as a few other options.  There are similar opportunities with other vowels and some consonants, for example, S > ss.  Now, my keyboard is more written (in the messaging application, for example) when I press the button for a while display options for this key.

  I noticed that this happened after I did the update to iOS to all my Mac devices, although I am not sure this is related.  This Mac uses El Capitan 10.11.6.

  I live in Germany, so having this feature to switch between languages is a big problem for me.

  Anyone can shed some light on this?

  Have you tried to do an SMC reset? In the case of contrary and you don't know how please look over iMac SMC and PRAM reset , reset the SMC 2 - 3 times and then test again.

• 10.11.6 installation - problem. Gray screens my iMac

  I've never had problems before installing updates - luck or what!

  Well, 10.11.6 is my enemy!

  Tried twice to install and every time it is just grey screen my iMac. I have returned to a stable 10.11.5 via a Time Machine backup, but do not know what to do except wait until the next update which will sort I hope that question?

• Problem install iDVD 9 on iMac?

  I try to install iDVD 9 on my retina 5 K, 27-inch iMac, the end of 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), MacPro Dual-Core, clocked at 2.66 GHz.  I get a message saying warning: iDVD 9 is incompatible with OS X and it could damage the iMac should I continue

  with the installation.  I find it very strange because I installed iDVD 9 on my MacBook Pro without any problem using the:.  Installing MacBook Pro iDVD 9 included all the old themes as well

  as the 7.1.2 update from Apple Downloads.  Would appreciate it really any advice on how I could get the iMac to allow

  iDVD installation 9.

  I am iDVD 7.1.2 running on my iMac 2011 without problem.  The place where you want to install to and you can post a screenshot of the message you get when you try to install it.

  A solution would be to use the demo version of transmission to install iDVD and themes, especially if you are trying to install from a disk of iLife 09 or 11.

  

• Having problems connecting iPhone 6s for iMac with OS Lion

  I have an iPhone 6s and a mid-2011 iMac that is still running on OS Lion. When I connect my iPhone, I get the message "the iPhone is useless because it requires a newer version of iTunes." So I checked that, and I am running the latest version. When I open iTunes, I do not see my camera, and all the menu options of synchronization are gray.

  We were reluctant to upgrade to El Capitan because of negative comments about iPhoto (specifically, how the upgrade removes all events that we named so laboriously since we bought the iMac). We just bought more RAM for our machine (which can contain 16; we currently have 4 and we'll be adding more 8) due to the frequent occurrence of the rotation color wheel.

  Any ideas on the cause of the iTunes/iPhone/iMac problem or how to fix it?

  You are running the latest version of iTunes that your Mac can run on your current OS X, however, is not the latest version of iTunes. 12.2.x is required for synchronization with any device running iOS 9. It is iOS that requires the latest version of iTunes, not the type of device.

• Leg of Mac applications and problems of El Capitan

  I have a 27 "iMac and upgraded to El Capitan several weeks ago. Now I get intermittent 'Greek' looking for characters when text is entered and the computer stops responding. I called Apple Support twice and the first time they're erasing several temporary caches, then a reinstallation of El Capitan. Whenever the computer ran fine for a day or two, but then the problem reappeared. When I try to restart the computer, sometimes, it crashes and will not restart. One of the techs advised me says that apple feels third leg Mac programs can cause problems with the Mac OS. I clean my Mac, a program memory improvement and improve Mac Paw software disc. Should I uninstall these programs and if so, how? I had the PC for my entire life until you get a Mac a few years ago. I also have Parallels installed and that you can run Windows 10 without any problem.

  Remove all third-party applications that claim to clean, protect, manage, monitor, etc. from your computer, including CleanMyMac.
