Problems of extraction "unloading the box" to install/upgrade to windows 7

I'm a student willing to upgrade to windows 7. I am currently running windows xp service pack 3 32 bit.

After downloading the windows 7 professional 64 bit student offers, I extracted the files on my desktop, but towards the end of the extraction I say error message "we are unable to create or save new files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have the authorization of security on the folder to write files and the folder isn't dead "."

I tried to move to another directory and change the folder attributes but I still get the message.

Is anyway to circumvent this?

  • Error "Unloading the box" for the download of victory 8

I had a problem after another trying to get the 8 upgrade win.  First of all, even if Microsoft has validated my record ID, I could never get to the stage for the upgrade.  Instead, I was taken into a page to pay full for win 8 or Win 8 Pro.  I spend about an hour last night with Microsoft technical support.  No one could discover the problem.  Finally, I agreed to buy the product at full price and take out a loan for the total.  Now when I access my account at Microsoftstore.com, I have all the information on the order.  But when I start the download process I get this message when running the executable: unloading of the box.  An error has occurred.  Unspecificed error.  OK

I did a complete restore of the system several days ago and then added all the updates on the computer that I use to download.  He has Win XP with SP3 installed and no AV installed (fear that it interferes with the download).  (I got the upgrade with the purchase of a Win 7 machine this last fall and to install the upgrade on the XP machine for now.)

Updates, that I initiated on two other computers have finished without any problem, so I feel comfortable with the process.  However, the third effort seems to be missing the "charm" of the first two.

    Thank you for your help.

This change solved my problem.  I found the information after a search on the web.

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-windows_install/problem-initiating-Windows-8-Upgrade-Assistant/a81a2b80-F032-46EC-a0e6-4512aa8bcbf4?page=3

The problem seems to be that a service (Terminal Services) under Win XP does not start when necessary as part of the download process.

Go to my computer. Right click and choose manage. Choose Services | Highlight the Server Terminal Services | Right click and choose Properties.

Change the manual setting to automatic.  (Note that on the site, some users choose a different setting, but auto allows the service to run at startup.)  Close and restart the computer.

I hope it's useful to others.

the question is will be 10 windows will be activated with my product key embedded in the BIOS automatically or I will need 10 windows key.

    Hello

No, 10 will not be activated as a free update if you try to install it on Windows 8. You can buy 10 to have activated.

You need Windows 8.1 to receive the upgrade FREE at 10.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\storahci

I set the start value data to 0

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\pciide

I set the start value data to 0

Rebooted and set the BIOS to AHCI Windows is not loading.

    Can anyone help?

There is a Fixit for Windows 7. It can now work with Windows 8.

You can try this alternative. I don't know if it will work.

    Above all, back up everything.

    Hello

Windows Photo Gallery is a program that displays all the images that are located in the folder images C:\Users\your utilisateur\Mes . This program does not store the photos.

Search the hard disk to a folder named Windows.old. This folder will contain the personal data of the previous installation of Vista .

Open the Windows.old folder, navigate to the pictures utilisateur\Mes Users\your folder. You should see all of the Vista installation in this folder.

Copy or move pictures to the my pictures folder in the new folder of Windows 7 .

  • What is the safest way to upgrade to Windows 10 and save my email folders

I have been using Thunderbird to check my account Gmail for years, I have 15 years of records by year and month, I want to upgrade to Windows 10 but I'm afraid of losing this email, addresses, etc. Is there a safe procedure to do. I have back ups of my computer everything on several hard drives, I use Acronis to make my back ups, could simply use Acronis to re - install the backup of files that include my email?

    Thank you
    God bless you
    Fromjim

It depends on if you have moved the default Thunderbird profiles locations and firefoxes.

If they remain in their default locations in appdat.

Type %appdata%\protector.exe in the search box for the start menu and press to enter.

Copy the Thunderbird and the Mozilla files to your backup device.

If you have changed the default settings, I guess you know where you have placed these data.

  • Features of the printer lost after upgrading to Windows 8

    I use a HP Deskjet 2060 K110 AIO.

After you have installed Windows 8 Windows 7, the "Pages to print" option (print odd and even pages) and 'HP Real Life Technologies' are missing, even after I installed the driver for http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=4157...

I tried to install the driver on the CD it came with, it won't install.

This feature is deliberately deleted or did I miss something?

    Hello

These features make accessible to the general public through the driver supplied with the HP full feature software, by your description I guess you have mistakenly added the In-OS driver included in Windows 8.

Follow the steps below, which should add a feature to the printer:

    1. download and run the latest version of the full software features below:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=Al-109371-2&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4158&product=4157336&sw_lang=

    2. once the installation dialog box appears, click CTRL + SHIFT + ESC to open the Task Manager

    3. right click on the process of HP - DQEX5.exe, and then select the location of the open file.

    4. right click on the address bar and select copy address as text.

    5. open the control panel and then go to devices and printers, the HP Deskjet Ink Adv 2060 icon right click and select printer properties.

6 open the Advanced tab, click new driver.

    7. click on Next, click the disk button, paste the address of the software by clicking CTRL + V and click OK.

    8. finish the wizard, and then click OK to confirm the changes. your pritner driver now understand one of these options:

in the system properties it says 3 days to go to automatic activation I waited for 3 daysbut it said another 26 days to automatic activation.
    What does that mean?
How can I solve this problem?

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool

(download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

    Once saved, run the tool.

Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.

To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.x

    -in your own thread, please

Please also state the Version and edition of Windows cited on your COA sticker (if you a) in the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but does NOT quote the key on the sticker!

  • Question for the Vista Home Premium upgrade to Windows 7?

After you run the Upgrade Advisor, I like Windows mail is compatible with Windows 7. How can I save my emails filed so I don't lose them when I do the upgrade? Thamks

Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows. That being said...

Your Windows Mail data will be preserved when you switch to Win7.

Unlike Vista and Windows XP, Win7 does NOT have any default mail client. However, you can install Windows Live Mail (free) or another e-mail Client (e.g. MS Outlook, which is not free) and then import data from Windows Mail stored in your new email Client.

You can find more help in this specific Win7 forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7network/threads

You will find public support for Windows Live Mail in this discussion group: http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop

  • How to re-enable the Vista key after upgrade to Windows 7

    original title: Activattion

I bought a legal copy of Vista 64 bit and I installed on a computer. I then used Windows 7 64 bit upgrade for upgrading Vista to 7. So now, Vista is not installed on this computer. Since this copy is not installed on any computer that I then installed Vist 32 bits with the same product key, as both versions came in a single package. This computer is dead and no longer in use. So now, either 32-bit or 64-bit version is installed on any computer. So I decided to install the 64-bit version on a virtual machine that is the only thing that it is installed on and I can't seem to activate. I know the State of the installation on a single computer, but I thougth that if uninstall you you can reinstall on another computer. All of these computers are mine and only installed on a Vista machine. They have never been installed on two machines at a time. The installation of Vista, I have currently is in a virtual machine. Is there a way I can get this activated copy?

If you used to upgrade Vista Windows 7 is the upgrade version, rather than the Full Installer version, so your Vista license is no longer valid, as it is subsumed under the license of Win 7.

  • Meet the error code during upgrade to Windows 10 Windows 7

I encounter an error code: 0xc1900204 during the upgrade of Windows Windows 7 10.  Anyone has idea what the code refers to, and how it can be fixed?

    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Make sure your machine name is simple not periods or hyphens or dashes.
    • Reboot several times, and then try again.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • If you are using a SCSI drive, make sure you have the drivers available for your storage on a thumdrive device and it is connected. During the installation of Windows 10, click on the advanced custom Option and use the command load driver to load the driver for the SCSI drive. If this does not work and the installer still fails, consider switching to an IDE based hard drive.
    • Perform a clean boot, restart, and then try again.
    • If you upgrade to the. ISO file, disconnect from the Internet during the installation, if you are connected in LAN (Ethernet) or wireless, disable both, then try to install.
    • If you are updated through Windows Update, when download reaches 100% disconnect from the LAN (Ethernet) Internet or Wi - Fi, then proceed with the installation.
    • If this does not work, try using the. ISO file to upgrade if possible.
    • If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
    • If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).
