  I use a netopia 2240N and a linksys WRT160N (rev1). For many reasons, I want to limit the use of netopia 2240N so I tried a few solutions:

  First

  Netopia with transparent IP configuration and sending IP WRT with DHCP configuration.  Without result

  When I do the same thing using the static IP setting on WRT my IP settings are denied (IP and GW are not on the same network):

  IP: 213.X.X.X (where X is valid but I don't want to publish publicly)

  MASK: 255.0.0.0

  GW: 64.Y.Y... Y (my valid provider gateway).

  I agree they are not on the same network but those defining work perfectly with my netopia router.

  I have tried PPPOE bridge configuatio. I enabled the functionality of bridge PPPOE on my netopia router. And PPPOE is used as my setting IP WRT, valid user and password. When WRT try to connect I get an error message "unable to get valid IP address.

  can someone make me one of this setting work.

  In fact I use NAT: netopia-> WRT-> lan I want to avoid.

  I use the latest released firmware for the two facilities.

• WRT160N v2 resets every 30-60 minutes

  Hello!

  I had a problem with my WRT160N v2 router.  All began a few weeks ago, in which he will hang up every thirty to sixty minutes or so, disconnect us from our game online and preventing the webpage loading for a minute or two.   By the looks of the flashing lights, it seems to be reset.  This problem affects our wired computers as well as (I assume) our wireless devices.

  I already updated the firmware to the latest version and did a hard reset of the parameters. This fixes for about a week, but the problem arose again.  Only about half of the router, so I'm rather at a loss of what he done and why.  I scanned the forums here, but apart from problems with earlier versions of the firmware, I don't see anything about this specific problem.

  Open the router configuration page and reduce the value of the MTU to 1365 and click on save settings... Cycle power to the router and check.

• WRT160N OFF-LIMITS

  My 160N wireless had been working perfectly until just after Christmas. Connectivity remotely on my laptop HP then 'poof '.

  I had the same problem with my WRT160N. Change the channel from Auto to 1 solved the problem. Thanks Gollum so - I've been struggling with this during a week!

• WRT160N works, but not with the internet

  We have the WRT160N for a little while now and until a few days ago, it worked very well!

  A few days ago, the internet on our homenetwork started have really very slow and even 1 pc cannot connect at all.

  So we decided to give the router a hard reset.

  After that we did it, the network is back (our wireless network is not protected, but we'll fix that soon after we had it working again).

  Only, we do not have operating... We returned our network so we can use the maps shared on all computers, but internet has disappeared!

  We got 1 pc near the Modem, so we connected the pc to the modem and it got internet right away!

  Then we plugged the modem to the router again once and then beautiful blue light on the logo 'internet' on the router and everything was going on well again.

  Unfortunately, it was not. The internet still wasn't back! local network available on all PCs!

  So in short:

  After resetting the WRT160N, we could only use the LAN, so is not the internet. While the router itself says it has internet (it is connected to the moedem correctly).

  Things you should know:

  -We do not have internet on our modem, PCs that are connected directly to the modem have no internet

  -the cable between the modem and the router is not broken, we have tried other cables but same problem

  -We also made the modem, then turned the router, that rekindled the modem and then the router back, still nothing happened

  -Now we plugged our selector of ould (Wireless-G) back on, and it immediately starts to work OK!

  So please...! What is the problem with the WRT160N? We have forgotten something after the reset? We need to define a configuration somewhere? Maybe its broken?

  Your router lost its configuration after you have reset it... You need to reconfigure your router now...

• How to create a DVD with DVD Studio Pro and an external DVD burner?

  I am trying to create a DVD with DVD Studio Pro. My internal DVD drive no longer works. I have an external DVD burner - slim portable DVD writer. I create the project into DVD Studio Pro, and when in the program, it works fine when I "stimulate". Well, I can't burn it.  When I look for the external DVD writer in my finder, it is not and I don't know how or where to select the option so it is programmed to burn the external DVD writer.   I found a thread that has addressed this issue, but does not help me to solve my problem. Meg the dog was told this to her in question written by Scott Stark. I tried his solution of generation and format, but after pressing the burn a window appears saying "insert disc please insert acceptable DVD recordable media."  I tried to use another blank DVD, it did not help.   Linksys has now re-posted the firmware "008" mentioned on the page of suppport WRT160N v2 (the "011" version caused the problem, restoring it to "008" should solve)

• Question to a potential buyer!

  Hello! I just got a PS3 and I had ike to use its wifi to connect to internet, I'm looking for a pair wireless modem with my modem cable, since I'm not currently wireless somehow. My problem is that my computer is a few years old and like all PC tend to do, has its own personality... I have Windows XP Pro, and when I try to update to Service Pack 1, 2 or 3, it makes my PC slow down a lot, so it's never really taken.

  If I wanted to get a Linksys WRT120N wireless router, would it still work with my Windows XP Pro Service Pack 1 system? The Linksys info on official web pages were not very clear.

  If anyone can lend a hand for a beginner of wifi, I would really appreciate it! Thank you!!

  No, you wouldn't have problems with the WRT160N either.  The settings of the router can be configured with the CDROM either included or manually via the router utility.

  Basically, all routers will have the same ability to work with your system regardless of the XP version.

• Acrobat Pro XI crashing constantly. Tried everything without success.

  Hi all. I have problems of mega-frustrating with Acrobat 11.0.10. He is constantly crashing, especially when you try to combine PDF files.

The laptop is a high-end Dell XPS with an i7 processor that I use for other projects of creation, so the capacity of portable computers is not a problem.

  If I have a very fast NAS and the network, I found that to effectively edit a project, I want my project, and active at least an external FW 800 (same drive letter of the operating system on each computer) and an eSATA would be even better.

  I do all the time and my transportation projects between my laptop by the pool and work stations in the editing room.

  I've set up each project, with all assets (or Copies, as most of my goods are stored on the NAS), in a hierarchy of files for this project. With the drive letter set the same on every machine I migrate seamlessly and with zero problems. Mega-projects, with 1, in thousands of dollars in assets, loading quickly - unlike when working on the network, or of the SIN.

  But with a little planning, you should have zero problem.

  Bought router WRT160N downloaded software. everything works fine with the router. but when I tried to open LELA shortcut on my desktop, I have nothing. LELA will open in the taskbar. I went to the executable files and tried to open it y fron and nothing. I went to the Vista Task Manager and looked at my running applications, and it shows an easylink icon is labled ALERT POPUP that is running. and also the Linksys Easylink Advisor running. When I finish the task for the alert popup. I can now open with the shortcut.

  I had exactly the same problems that you described with technical support. I found this link in a post by Basiltoo on 12/15/2008. It worked for me. Previously, I had the x 86 machine error when loading the software upgrade. I have a 64 bit system. There are still a few problems with some of the options, but most of the time it works.  The link is http://update.linksys.com/autoupdate/

  I also uninstalled LELA however add remove programs and restarted before I installed the new version. On the new version, he has a place where it asks if you have a 64 bit system. If you choose the download you receive will be correct and you should not get the 'x 86' mistake.'
