Problems of Windows 8 r - can't find 'removed apps' file

Hello!

I had a problem with Windows 8 refreshment. Windows 8 to 8.1 update was not so successful and my laptop was terribly slow, so I decided to make Windows regenerate.

There was a warning on the deletion of apps that I installed it but there was a message that I will find a list of my deleted on the desktop apps. And... There is nothing. It's not on the desk and nowhere in the folders on the computer.

Help, please!

BR

Anna

Hello Anna,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand that you have problems with file deleted after execution of refresh in computer apps lack. We will certainly help you with the same.

Windows puts a list of applications on your desktop after you refresh your PC. This file is .html format. It could have been hidden by accident, you can read the steps below for show hidden files:

(1) open the C drive.

2) double-click the users folder.

(3) select user name of the user account you have, select desktop.

4) now select in the Menu bar above. Click on Options.

(5) you will get an option change the folder and search options, click on it.

6) go to the view tab.

(7) under Advance settings, check the option Show hidden files folders or disks .

8) click Ok and close the window. Go to the desktop and make sure that the deleting apps folder appears.

If you are looking for all the apps that you have downloaded from the app store, you can easily recover them by downloading them again from your list of apps in the store.

Follow these steps:

(a) type store and click on the store icon to go to app store.

(b) right click anywhere on the window of the app store.

  • Windows XP sp3 can not find a file that I know is there

Windows XP sp3 can not find a file that I know is there. I even copied the file to the desktop, but research still cannot find the file. He may not get indexed. But on a search for *.mp3, it will include this file. I've searched all files and folders, file name or name part and content, but the search is empty.

The reason why I asked is that this *.mp3 IS a 'partial file name.

If the file is an MP3 file (music), I doubt if you could ever find by searching for "contained in the file," then relevant chess is why it was not found using the complete file name or part of the name.

If the file is not hidden, the only other thing I can think is that there is some special characters in the name of the file that is not obvious when you look at it.

For example, there was quite a "Drunk Philly' in 1974 called hit"when will be I see You Again"by the three degrees. Let's say you have decided to appoint an this (3) .mp3 mp3 file. It would be a legal folder name, but a search for 3º.mp3 won't find it. This is because the name of the file, I used the 'degree' (Unicode 00B 0) symbol and the search string uses the symbol "masculine ordinal' (Unicode 00BA). These symbols are almost identical to the nekkid eye (can not use the actual word here), but not to a computer search engine.

Replace any part of the name of the file, except the extension using the * wildcard would make the search works, but if you have used the 'partial' name, includes all who is this character, which could cause the problem.

To test, I suggest renaming the file. See if research there now. If so, rename, go back to what you think it was--but use the keyboard, not copy and paste to get the name of "origin". Search finds now?

    Thank you very much, Nik

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

Contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

I suggest to check the following website: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/Browse.aspx?type=Hardware&category=Graphics%20Cards%20%26%20Components&subcategory=Sound%20Cards

It lists Windows 7-compatible sound cards, look for your card it should tell you with its compatible. If it is compatible, it also indicates if the driver downloads automatically or you may have to download via a website.
