Problems playing self created discs DVD-R on Satellite M30

I currently have problems reading DVD-R, I created on my laptop M-30. Would appriciate any solutions, ideas, Suggestion anyone could have.

The problem
My DVD - Rw drive refuses to recognize any DVD-R that I wrote using the same drive and software slipped & included. He simply refuses to recognize and when asked just indicates that the disk must be damaged or corrupted. All the tested discs (all 8 of them) worked properly on three other machines, which rules out a problem with the discs.
Also it does not read discs written, he recognizes DVD-R Virgin and allows me to write for them. indeed written afetr and refuse 2 discs, one with Drag & drop, the other with WinDVD Creater 2, the system refused to recognize. However, they worked correctly on other machines.

The drive was working properly before, and no major modifications were made to the system. He continues also to recognize and read in DVD-ROM drives trade.

Would appriciate all ideas, suggestions, solutions to this.

Hi bbusybookworm,

that is not easy to give advice, but lets try...

What Service Pack is installed? SP1 or SP2.

As far as I know, if you installed SP2, you make updates to preinstalled programs.

How many burning programs installed, Drag & Drop, WinDVD Creator. What else?

It could be possible that some programs hamber each other.

I had this problem with Roxio products and "Alcohol", for example.

Good bye

  • DVD recorder is not read/write discs DVD-RAM on Satellite A200-1GH

    Hello!!

I have the problem as the topic - my DVD drive is not read/write DVD-RAM discs (recorder: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N). Unfortunately, there is no any drivers (more recent than I've got) for this recorder on the Toshiba, not even site on LG or Microsoft. What should I do?

    Greetings

    Hello

To be honest, it's quite strange. If the laptop is preinstalled with recovery image, it should work. I tested it on my laptop 5 minutes ago and it works. The DVD-RAM disc is readable and different documents can be saved on the disk too.

Do you use your own installation of OS, or you still have some factory settings?

  • Satellite A60: Can play self-created DVDs

    All,

    I have a Satellite A60 with UJDA760 CDRW/DVD drive.
The drive will not read the DVD (DVD + are not all, DVD - R, sometimes (if the drive is cold (?))).

This could be a firmware issue? And if yes, does anyone know, where I can find an update for this drive? (I tried the firmware pack - na .zip from the web site of Toshiba, but an update to the reader is not available)

The drive reads CDs without problem.

    Thanks for your comments!

    Hi Bruno

You can update the firmaware but sometimes it doesn t solve disk problems.
For most of these issues occurs because the player doesn't supports different types of DVD or / and CD media.
Hard drives don't support all DVD. The best way is to test different media from different manufacturers.
Sometimes, the same media from the same manufacturer doesn t work on the disc. Yes, it seems very strange but it s true.
Check if you can use other DVDs.

  • Playing discs DVD + RW on Satellite S1700-300

Can I use my Satellite S1700-300 me running to read that DVD + RW burned on a XP PC with a Pioneer DVR - 106D DVD burner?

The reader Toshiba says that the disc is not recognized.

If this isn't the case, it would be OK if I burned the DVD - RW discs?

    Hello!

Yes, you can! Normally, there should no problems with serious DVD. But as far as I am aware that there may be problems with the DVD + R DVD + R more recent than your machine symbolic because. So I think that it is better to burn DVD-r!

Also, you should test different suppliers because some DVD vendors produce their DVD as the industry standard!

  • Creating discs of recovery for Satellite Pro C660-2JR

    Hello

is there a way to have the recovery disks installed win7 x 32 instead of x 64 (Satellite Pro C660-2JR)

If your laptop has been delivered with the 64-bit version, you can create the recovery for this preinstalled only version disk. With other words, saved on the recovery partition recovery image is recorded on DVD disc. It's nothing more than that.

If you want to use the 32 bit OS, you must check if your phone model is supported for him and install the clean version.

  • Problem creating Windows DVD? Or Windows Movie Maker problem?

Hello!  I created a slide show in Windows Movie Maker, which plays on my computer without problem.  Now, I try to burn it to a DVD by using the Windows DVD authoring application.  I was able to burn my DVDs sucessfully using the wizard and when I put it in the DVD player I get the main menu I created.

I press play and start my video, but he plays 16 seconds and everything goes black.  Time continues to roll until the full 3 minutes are up, but I have 16 seconds of my film.  I burned 3 DVD and it did the same thing.

Can someone help me with what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi Khsb14,

Have a. you been able to watch the video before burning?

    B. did burn the DVD?

    C. is the DVD burner connected properly

    D. is the audio work after the 16th s?

    E. do you have a mistake when he went to the black screen?

This could be a problem with the burner DVD or the method of engraving. Try the following methods.

    Method 1

Previewing your DVD, you can view the photos and videos on this subject. Check if the full video is seen in the preview. This can help you determine if you want to make changes to the DVD before burning the disc.

    1. In the ready to burn DVD page, click Preview.
    2. To read the DVD preview, click play in the control screen.
    3. To control the playback, click Pause , play , previous chapter or next chapter , according to what you want to do.
    4. To display the DVD menu, click Menu. Click on the top, bottom, right, or arrows left to go in this direction on the DVD menu preview, and then click the Enter button to play the selected menu item. Click OK when you are done previewing the DVD.

  • Cannot create Windows DVD, burning the disc - Satellite L350

Can someone help I'm on a Toshiba satellite L350
I'm trying to burn a DVD with Windows DVD maker. It is the fourth I've done and the previous ones were all OK.

I can't burn the DVD, I tried both types of disc and made about 10 attempts today.
When I try to burn it starts OK then I get about 34% and get an error message

I had two different error messages, it says "cannot create the DVD error unspecified.". "
The other says "cannot create DVD catastrophic failure"

As Akuma wrote, it can be a problem creating Windows DVD and has nothing to do with the functionality of optical disc drive. It is good to check the updates.

Can you test the WEIRD feature using a different burning application?

  • DVD/CD player not recognizing not self-created CDs

The DVD/CD RW drive has suddenly stopped to recognize or be able to engrave self-created manufacturing CDs. CDs are OK, and can be read or installed. Hello

Can you please give some specs on your device? In my opinion, you should try to burn data using two different fires software or try to use the Windows burning option. If there is no success, it is possible that the unit is defect or have a malfunction.

Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially if they're loading of parts of
themselves at the start because they will be competing for resources. This does not mean that this issue has been
caused by those, however, it's a possibility depending on which and how many you have installed.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

  • Problems playing and extraction of some discs in WMP

I have usually no problem playing and ripping disks on my hard drive using WMP (W7). However, I have problems with some types HDCD discs. An example of this is Neil Young's "Greatest Hits", it will not play WMP poster art, the title of the album etc plus all the track names and rip box is checked, but when I click the icon burn, nothing happens. There are no error messages either. Is there a way to turn it?

Thanks in advance for an answer

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

From the information, you can not play and rip some discs as HDCD by using Windows Media Player 12 (WMP).

Since WMP 9, it is possible to decode and play active HDCD CD.

This problem occurs if the file as HDCD extension is not supported by Windows Media Player 12.

You can use your favorite search engine to look for a software that can convert the file for use in Windows Media Player.

Note: The use of third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

For more information on the types of files supported by Windows Media Player, you can also view the following link:

Note: This also applies to WMP 12.
