  I get this error "failed to configure windows updates. returning from changes. do not turn off your computer. The computer is a Samsung Ativ tab 5 and I got it for a little over a week.
  I have updated with the SW update
  The results of the troubleshooting online are:

  One thing that bothers me, is in the configuration of the system, I have a service called true vector Internet Monitor (Zone Alarm) and when the value disable as in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135, it is the only service still running when you perform a clean restart. I don't know if this affects the Automatic Updates/configuration or not.

  Thanks for trying to help. Now my computer seems to be up-to-date.
  I followed your steps but MicrosoftFixit50202.msi did not like "my OS is incompatible. I use windows 8.  I couldn't run this in default or aggressive.
  I did go in Control Panel and disable antivirus and firewall Zone Alarm and reset Windows defender by default.
  I did IE default web browser I have prob changed when I got to the computer.
  I then returned to set up a clean boot and this time I managed to disable the true vector Internet Monitor (Zone Alarm) to run.
  I ran the reset troubleshooting of Windows with the same result as before is to say:
  Recent updates - not fixed installation problems
  Search for missing or corrupted - files detected
  I think I have restarted my computer at this stage and then tried to update again.
  It has not yet, but with the error, I got an error code and a link to help. I don't have not noticed this before. I followed the help and ran about 5 command prompts that have to do with the renaming of files I think.
  Then I tried updating again and this time 38 45 updates succeeded. I then ran the update again and it seemed to work on the other 7 updates.
  Although Windows Update said I was now updated, I was skeptical as when this whole thing started is started when I got the "windows installs updates" and then "failed to configure updates. Returning... etc"then I restarted my computer. At the start, there was no message on try to configure the updates, then, how do I know they are configured and working as it should?

  There is no way that anyone might be able to help without more. My initial guess and it is just a guess, is that you have to update Internet Explorer .v8. Click HERE and download IE8 and install it. Try again updates once the installation is complete.

I do fix by someone whom I don't know personally, which I doubt has all the certificates... anyway, once I come back the jury it starts fine, but the OS has been reset, with the watermark from Windows 8 at the bottom left of the desk, as it has always been. I don't know if it was something that nobody is (maybe something illegal?) but I can't activate windows when he asks, because he says that it cannot be activated at this time. I can also activate it via the phone (or any other method) via the activation ID and I bought a copy of Windows Professional 10 as a shortcut, but, of course, he wants another key because the key that comes with it is the same as my old key (I know this is probably how it is supposed to be, but he was initially asked me to buy a new Windows 8 key just to reactivate).   I try to install Adobe Reader Touch to my Surface installed Pro Windows 8.1 Microsoft Windows store.  I get the following message is displayed:

  "Your purchase could not be executed.

  Something has happened and it's impossible to make your purchase.  "Error code: 0 x 080070057.

  Only, this seems to be a problem with Adobe Reader Touch.  I was able to install applications from other vendors and Adobe (for example, Photoshop Express to the elements).  So it doesn't seem to be a problem with my Adobe account, or a problem with Windows Store system.

  Anyone have this problem?  All solutions?

  Furthermore, I you recommend to download the installer for Adobe reader offline using this link (Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution ) and then try to install on your device pro surface.
