Problems with Activation in Windows 8

To avoid confusion, I will not leave many details of my situation, so that this message can get long. My apologies in advance for this, and all advice is welcome.

I do fix by someone whom I don't know personally, which I doubt has all the certificates... anyway, once I come back the jury it starts fine, but the OS has been reset, with the watermark from Windows 8 at the bottom left of the desk, as it has always been. I don't know if it was something that nobody is (maybe something illegal?) but I can't activate windows when he asks, because he says that it cannot be activated at this time. I can also activate it via the phone (or any other method) via the activation ID and I bought a copy of Windows Professional 10 as a shortcut, but, of course, he wants another key because the key that comes with it is the same as my old key (I know this is probably how it is supposed to be, but he was initially asked me to buy a new Windows 8 key just to reactivate). Currently, I have removed the key via CMD Admin compatible as suggested in another post (for a completely different problem) and returned to its State at the trail version of the operating system and uses the tool of creation of media Windows 10 download Windows 10 for a second time.

My DELL PC came with windows xp media center pre installed and it also came with a disk to upgrade windows vista (Dell). Recently, my computer has a virus and it started again so I had to upgrade all over again. However, this time, the windows activation indicates that the product key is already in use. First of all, try to activate Windows by phone and see if it works.

Gerry, thanks for your post. I have the same problem as Joachim started this thread. I am running Windows 7 sp1. I have a Dell computer and it's certainly a legitimate copy of Windows (confirmed computer 'properties' and it is enabled).

By your post, I saw just to update and the KB3004394 (installed on 12/10/2014) and KB3024777 (installed on 12/12/2014) show as comfortable. I usually leave the Windows download updates automatically and I install them to stop. I watched the second update and according to Microsoft.com:

The KB 3004394 update which was dated December 10, 2014 can cause additional problems on computers that run Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. This includes the inability to install future updates. This new update is available to remove KB 3004394 from your computer.

My problem is, as of today 14/12/2014, I still get the pop up "this computer is running not windows genuine', even with KB3024777 installed.

Any thoughts?

Frequent hard drive exchanges are causing problems for activation of Windows 7?

I am new to Windows 7. I frequently switch (turn) the hard drive on my system - say every 6 weeks or more. I use the same set of 2-3 disks and restore my system from a disk image every time when I exchange them. Change the drive often happens to cause problems with the activation of Windows 7? Thank you.

Change the hard drive on systems not prompt swap you for activation but after that the HDD on another system if the operating system is validated activation would be asked that the physical address of machines would have changed.

Problem with activation by using two hard drives (XP on one) and Win7 on the other

I have XP sp3 installed on a hard drive and Win7 on another. I never use XP, I only keep there to keep my Win7 works great.

I do not remember how did I installed win7, but I pretty sure I booted from a USB key and installed on a new hard drive.

It seems that XP hard drive is in charge the boot settings, or something because I have set as the boot default HDD (in bios), and then select Windows 7 in boot menu that follows.

If I select the hard disks Windows 7 the default boot hard drive, Windows restores activation. Select the hard drive with XP and win7 then choosing in the start menu, works very well, the activation is OK again.

I'll install Win8 (that I already bought), but I still need to figure out what to do with this situation, because I need to replace the hard drive where XP is installed and install Win8 and have a double Win7 and boot 8.

It is possible to solve the problem of activation, without having me call Microsoft? I use a utility called EasyBCD 2.2 and I was wondering if maybe this program could help fix me.

Any thoughts?
