Problems with shared folders

I spent a few hours trying to figure this out.  I have VMware Fusion 3.1 on my MacBook running 10.6.4 and a Windows 7 Ultimate VM. I went to the Machine virtual and added the player shared, changed the permissions read and write.  After that, he created a folder on my desktop which has been
. host\Shared folder.  I double click the file and it fails.  I decided to share the OSX folder as well without success.  I made sure my firewall in OSX and Windows 7 is off, still no luck.

Any advice?

The UNC path to the shared folders on VMware Fusion 3.x should be"
VMware-host\Shared records"not"
. host\Shared folder"and if it is the latter which is a problem.  I do turn to share and then uninstall/reinstall VMware Tools and activate sharing and see where you are then.

  • Bug report: strange behavior with sharing folders Mac & PHP require (8 VMware)

    I'm using VMware Fusion 8.0.0 (2985594) on Mac OS Yosemite (10.10.5 (14F27)) and I have a Linux VM with Debian Wheezy (3.2.0 - 4-amd64) and PHP (5.4.41 - 0 + deb7u1).

    After I've upgraded from VMware Fusion 7 WMware Fusion 8, the (open source CMS) Typo3 on my development machine began to throw PHP syntax errors during playback of its cache files. As I investigated the problem I found that the behavior is reproducible, but only when the files are written to the folder that is shared between the host system and the VM.

    When I'm demanding a PHP a certain file size and a certain name of file, PHP seems to continue reading about the end of the file in the middle of the arbitrariness of other files. This leads mainly to errors in syntax PHP - but according to the name of the file that they differ, for example:

    PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected '' in require284.php on line 93
    PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected '' in require107.php on line 88
    ^[[APHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected 'p' in require472.php on line 88
    PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected end of file in require884.php on line 88
    PHP Parse error:  syntax error, unexpected 'u' in require185.php on line 89

    All of these errors are generated by requiring the same content with different file names. If I am demanding the same file with the same name, the PHP error is also the same.

    Steps to reproduce

    I wrote a PHP script that seeks a different file names for a given text, until it crashes. Store this file in the shared folder and run it with php f. As you can see, all the content of the file is commented out, so it shouldn't affect anything.

    This problem occurs only for the upgrade of VMware 8 and only when the script runs in the shared folders, I strongly suspect that it is a problem within the VMware stack.

    Can anyone elso reproduce this behavior?

    Hello

    If you use the kernel of an open-vm-tools HGFS customer then yes there are bugs because the version provided with that was broken and not tested. People has not listened to my complaints about it.

    Current recommended approach is to always use the installation of VMware tools for the shared folders feature.

    Open-vm-tools are used to install tools user mode only. We try to make all of the features available with these, including a file sharing client FUSE based. Version 10 of the open-vm-tools will have this.

    Stick with VMware tools install for now for file sharing.

    Thanks for your great art information and debugging this issue.

  • Problems with shared calendars

    We have 6 users on a network home wifi using various devices.

    All devices running the latest versions of the software (El Capitan or iOS).

    I'm having a problem with two of the machines. One, a (white Macbook) is a whole number of different personal (in calendar) calendars that she has developed its own purposes.

    I also developed another list of calendars for commercial use on my 27 iMac mini ipad in 4 and my iphone 5 s).

    The problem is that the two sets of calendars (all) appear on both machines and send notifications for all of my machines. They are not bound by the Family Division. This causes a lot of confusion for both of us, a real pitb.

    Other users of the system are linked to my computer via the family sharing and only 'family' calendar is shared. Personal calendars of others, these machines do not appear on other computers, nor are personal calendars since the visible white Macbook to other machines, only on my machines (iMac 27 in. also my iPad Mini 4 and my iphone 4S.)

    The root of the problem seems to be with the white macbook. I tried to export this machine for backup schedules and then remove them from the application. When I start the calendar on this machine, all calendars (from these two machines) are installed again.

    I don't want to delete all schedules of these two machines because there is a lot of information already entered, that would be a pitb to re-enter.

    Suggestions, please.

    Best regards, Frank

    Solved this problem. Discovered that the machine at the origin of the problem was still linked to my apple ID.

    To all those who might have a similar problem in the future:

    Solution:

    All personal calendars that are exported to the desktop of the other machine and then disconnected my apple on this machine ID.

    Reboot the machine and then imported the personal calendars in the calendar on this machine.

    Went to my desktop and deleted all of the additional personal calendars there.

    Checked the other machine to see that personal calendars still existed.

    Success

    Hello

    I have the odd problem with 2 machines WinXPSP2. I can manage and see their actions of any another machine machine in the field. OK, the problem is that I need to use a shared printer on the computer B to machine A and I can't simply. Can someone help me solve this problem?

  • Problem with sharing of data specific to the application via BBM 10.2

    Hello - I am having a problem of data sharing applications with BBM 10.2-specific. I take the advice of some comments here, and it seems to work on 10.1. I can receive the file on 10.2, but when I try to share on the same device that I get this:

    InvocationWrapper::onQueryFinished: no matching result from Menu Service for query
       mimeType=""
       uri=QUrl("file:///accounts/1000/shared/misc/My App Data.myapp")
       data= ""
       metadata= QMap()
       perimeter= 0
       action= "bb.action.SHARE"
       target= "sys.bbm.sharehandler"
       invokerIncluded= false
    InvocationPrivate::onQueryResolved: no result matching query, no armed signal sent.

    It is the call that I use, which works on 10.1 but not 10.2:

    Invocation {
       id: invokeBBM
       query {
          InvokeQuery {
             id: invokeBBMQuery
             uri: "file:///accounts/1000/shared/misc/My App Data.myapp"
             invokeTargetId: "sys.bbm.sharehandler"
             invokeActionId: "bb.action.SHARE"
          }
       }
    }

    I also tried it with a "text/plain" MIME type and a few other variations, same result. If something has changed in point 10.2?

    (And while I'm asking, any reason why I can't use the data instead of a file uri? I need to convert the data in JSON, save the file, share the file, send, receive, save the file on the receiver, then open it, read it, and convert it back. Seems a little roundabout, if I could share the JSON data. "(And this is the only reason that my application requires permissions of shared files)."

    Thank you!

    It is a problem with the current version of BlackBerry Dev 10.2 Alpha.  You can call C++ BBM, but citing QML does not work.

  • problem with Shared Object

    Hello flash developers,.

    I have a problem with getting the value of a variable in a shared object.
    I'm saving up two variables named evt_obj.target and evt_obj.target .text
    It is only the evt_obj.target variable that gives me problems.
    During the recording of my trace shows the variable is successfully sent to the shared object, but when it is retrieved, it appears just as undefined.
    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Well solved the problem by using String (eval (evt_obj.target))
    Still would like to know why it won't work when saved directly, must investigate when I have more time ;)

  • Help with shared folders, please

    Running Win Vista/64, almost all folders and files under Documents are also shared, with the "two guys" icon superimposed on the icons of folders and files.  Obviously because they are 'shared', these files and folders are very difficult to remove or move, take resources from the computer for a minute or more per operation.  I tried 'break' them and even to remove the names of all listed users for the file or folder, but can't get them to the State not shared.  Can someone please?  Either way, all folders and files becomes shared when I opened Windows Movie Maker once to see what it could be used for.  Just open the program seems to be what has marked all these files and folders as 'shared '.

    Finally, I realized that for me.  With Windows Explorer, click a shared folder in the left pane so that all shared files are visible on the right.  Select (highlight) all the files, then right click on one and when the window opens, click on: "share...." ».  Then click on "Stop sharing" and to sit back and wait a few minutes.  I have no idea why, but it takes for-ev-er to run the "stop sharing".  Once the files 'no sharing', then you right click on the folder and do the same thing with her.  Be prepared to spend a lot of time to exercise, according to the number of files shared.

    Always start at the lowest level (deeper?) and backward from there.  You can not cancel sharing a folder until all the files inside are shared.

    Yet once, which required all this simply opened the program Windows Movie Maker comes with Vista.  Of course, it goes through your hard drive and share all the files that could never have no interaction with the Movie Maker program... same word .doc and .pdf files.

  • Problem with shared Variables

    Hello

    I have a project that contains two VI: reading and writing, a shared library that contains a Boolean value (published on the network, type: Bool, alias uncheck).

    In Write.vi (diagram), there is a block button and a shared var node related.

    The same thing in Read.vi

    Aims to make the .exe working on another PC.

    In the project, I created the program installation and application.

    I try to run it on the second PC, but it does not work.

    Need help.

    AS2307,

    Are your read and write screws both on the same computer as shared variables of accommodation?  Both of these screws are working on the development of your PC and they work as executables on your development PC?

    It would be useful to know exactly what you did this works and what you have tried that does not work as it is has a few caveats with the help of executable actions variables as described in the article below.

  • Problems with shared printers added manually

    When I add a network printer manually shared, it becomes automatically're-shared', which causes a single printer being present in multiple instances on a single PC across the network. If I then manually turn off the're - share' on a target computer, it unfortunately also disables the original share 'host' remotely. So, I have this shared printer more than once or not at all. I would not care much, but this causes the printer becomes completely inaccessible from the network from time to time, which resolves only relocation. Automatic printer detection doesn't work reliably (strangely automatically added printers don't behave this way) and when you add a printer shared from XP to W7 machine, only manual addition works. I find this behavior strange. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thank you.

    PS: I know that LDAP server could solve this problem, but this isn't an option for me right now.

    If you use an operating system of server such that some versions of Windows Server, you will probably be unable to find answers here and probably will be redirected to a forum like http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/winserverprint/threads

    However, if you are referring to a home network in which all computers are running some flavor of Windows 'consumer' operating systems (XP, Vista, Windows 7), then please clarify what you mean by

    When I add a network printer manually

    Generally understood.

    • a 'network' is a printer that has its own IP address and is available for each computer connected to the network.
    • a 'shared' is a printer connected to a computer and then shared as a resource on this computer using, for example, Windows file and print sharing.

    What is a "network shared printer?  And why would you want to "share" a printer that is already available on the network?

  • problems with shared using sharepoint review

    Hello

    I have Acrobat X and want to use the review shared with my Sharepoint 2010 server.

    The address of the sharepoint site is https://sharepoint.xxx.com/sites/reviewsite

    And then I created a document library called "SpecReview": https://sharepoint.xxx.com/sites/reviewsite/SpecReview

    In Acrobat X, I click 'Send for shared review', then 'collect comments on my internal server', then 'Sharepoint workspace', then enter the URL https://sharepoint.xxx.com/sites/reviewsite

    When I click on "Get workspace" Acrobat displays an empty dialog box (i.e. the components "workspaces and document libraries" are empty).

    I'm doing something wrong?  Any suggestions how wrong it?

    I really want to use this feature, so if anyone has any suggestions, they will be very appreciated.

    THX, Bhaus

    Can you try to create a new workspace in SharePoint site https://sharepoint.xxx.com/sites/reviewsite and create a new library of documents within this new workspace? It's working for you now?

  • Problem with rename folders in Windows 7: get this error message: "the action cannot be completed because the folder or file is open in another program. Close the folder and try again. »

    When I try to rename a folder in Windows 7 I get this error message: "the action cannot be completed because the folder or file is open in another program. Close the folder and try again. "Can anyone help?

    I gave up and solved the problem by buying a third party software to use as a directory, Directory Opus.  It is much more functional than the Microsoft Directory and I have never problem renaming of files.  I am just amazed that so many people have this problem and Microsoft has not fixed.
