Problems with view 4.5 and PCOIP screen resolution.

I know this question has been asked before, but I have yet to find a solid solution. The last activity that I saw on this was in October 2010, so I thought I would like to start over rather than resurrecting an old thread. Please see below the description of the problem.

We have a number of XP virtual machines configured in a dynamic pool for our users. The pool settings are configured to allow a maximum of 4 monitors, with a resolution 1920 x 1200 on each monitor max. Users report that when they log in and try to change the resolution, the settings tab in the display properties page disappeared.

Thanks to this research, I stumbled upon VM KB article 1020809, updated less of a month earlier, indicating a fix for this problem (changing the registry NoDispSettingsPage value to 0). I did it on my main template, however, when users log in is set to 1 return.

There was also a thread in this forum who suggested changing the option multi-screen in the settings of the Pool to 1, leaving vCenter update, then change it back and then by a stop and start on all machines. I tried as well, but it has not solved this problem.

Finally, I tried to turn OFF the option to hide the Group Policy Settings Page, but the setting remains at 1. Can I change the resolution of the screen via a script (it does not persist by a closing/opening session, that is another matter), but can not get the settings tab appears.

I saw there is a model adm for Vista or Windows 7, but I am not mistaken, is there anything more that can be done to XP? I can't understand why this keeps getting ready again to 1 and am hoping that my users will not at all be stuck with a resolution of 1920 x 1200. As a side note, if I change it programmatically, what (s) do I need capture to have persist through a logoff (we use a third-party management tool ProfileUnity call profile)?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

What is the native resolution of the screens in use? I found that view will automatically set resolution in accordance with the native resolution. At least that seems to be the case in my situation.

  • Problems with 4.6 agent and PCoIP

    I have problems connecting to my VM internally and externally, after update of the agent in the Golden image.

    I upgraded the servers to 4.6 a month ago and everything works fine. At the time I left the VM as they were running on the agent of 4.5. I had to make a few updates to the image but then I thought that I would update the agent in the process. I removed tools, remove the agent, the agent 4.6 installed and reinstalled him tools. I have taken the VM and reconstructed my pool to test out of the picture and now I can't connect through PCoIP.

    I can connect using RDP. Performed live pool 4.5 connects internal-external using PCoIP. What happens when trying to connect using PCoIP, it connect, go to connect and you get a black screen. A few seconds later the client dies. No errors anywhere that I can see.

    I opened the VM console in vShpere to the login screen and when I connect to the virtual computer by using view I can see that the client's connection, but it just disconnects again. Running Windows 7.

    The pointers you can provide would be appreciated.

    We have encountered this problem before. To solve: the composer Agent service invited the value disabled, restart, editing the agent, restart. It should be clear after that.

    You can then install vmware tools and then vmware fresh agent.

    After acquiring a new iMac, I noticed a problem with the Finder - files and folders are displayed wrong (see table).

    This is what happens always after the files have been transferred from one folder to another. I was reminded of my days of using Mac OS in the 1980s when automatic setting of files was not so "automatic." I use Mac OS for decades and I don't remember the last time I had to think about GUI problems like that.

    Looks like your folder icons are not accommodating themselves automatically you plan to do. To me, this indicates that you have organize by the None value in the view menu. You can change the way files and folders are prepared automatically by clicking on view > reorganize by and selecting how you would like that fixed.

    I have problems with view on an Atrust W100 5.3 zero client attempts to use a Magtek USB card.  When I plug the blow of the card into a USB port and the test with the notebook, the device works, but when I try to slip something in QuickBooks POS there are missing characters and the card is not recognized.  I contacted MagTek and they pointed me to a download that I can run and slow the flow of data entry, however when I try to run it it is unable to recognize any USB device.  Is there anything I can do to get this MagTek card reader to work with the view 5.3?

    Looks like you're not actually redirecting the USB device, and instead it is considered a local keyboard to the zero client, with the keystrokes that results from being sent all over the office.     I'm having a problem with sorting of columns and the number of lines displayed in a report.

    This report displays the data correct, but if I try to sort on a column when I click on the column heading in the report returns no line... I need to click on the "go" button to refresh the report (with the column sorted now) in to display the data.

    Similarly, I display only 15 lines per page. If I try to view the lines 16-30, 31-45, etc., that it returns no line until I click on the 'go' button to refresh again.

    Has anyone else had (and overcome) the same problem?

    2 questions:

    1) are you using the elements referenced by the report page to filter etc.. ? If so, you're failing values of these when the loading of the page?
    (2) are you using PPR page through the results?

    If so, it could be a problem with the different types of session state, as Anton Nielsen blogged about here:

    If so, you can use calculations or processes to set element values in session state persistent during page rendering, as Anton mentions. In this way, when you use PPR page values will be available in session state and your report should work fine.

    That may be a problem with the DDE.

    Try to undo and redo Firefox as default browser.

    Make a different browser like IE browser by default and then let Firefox do it again.

    I have the Toshiba Equium L10 and it is about 14 months old and I have problems with the battery and how much time it takes after a full charge. I also have problems with the RTC battery and an ERROR 0271: check date and time settings message when I turn on the laptop.

    Regarding the battery, I can fully charge it upward in about 3 hours, but when I start to use it, apparently in the last few hours around one and a half or so and then it needs to be recharged.     The normal recommendation for the CMOS (RTC) battery is to leave the laptop connected to the power supply at least 12 hours when the main battery is fully charged. The charging circuit is going to hijack the current to the load automatically RTC battery and no current will be forwarded to your main battery.

    Recommendation do not leave the power adapter is plugged in the main battery is fully charged is really only applicable to older laptops that used no batteries Li - ion and therefore they had to be completely discharged before recharging to avoid any effect 'memory' of the battery.

    With modern Li-ion batteries, it is quite safe to leave the battery when fully charged and still power the laptop from the AC adapter. The charging circuit will pass all the battery charge if it is fully charged.
