ProBook 4520 s: wireless drivers

I had to do a restore of the system on my laptop.

Everything works fine except the wireless card.

I tried to figure out what driver to use but no luck with those that I have downloaded

When I go to 'pc-properties' he said actually there are 3 pilots lack completely from those who are for:

network controller

PCI simple communication controller

unknown device

How DO I know which ones to download!

Someone told me there was a function of diagnosis on the HP support Web site telling me, but I can't find this feature!

I have no connection to the internet via wireless LAN

and when I go into Device Manager, I found that the controller network and PCI Simple Communications controller have no driver

could I have a link for these devices? and thank you very much

    Hello:

Here is the driver for the controller PCI of Comms Sinple must:

    http://h20565.www2.HP.com/hpsc/SWD/public/detail?sp4ts.Oid=4145199&swItemId=ob_78904_2&swEnvOid=4053

I don't know what model of laptop wireless card is, please take the following steps and I figure that out and post the link to the driver for the wireless card you have...

Since there is no driver installed wireless, we need a labeled device network controller in Device Manager in the category other devices.  The network controller device will be a little! mark next to him.

Thus, to find the network controller device, click on that and then click on the Details tab.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

On this list and select the second element (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • ProBook 4520 s - exchange of the wireless network card

    Hello everyone.

I think the exchange of the wireless network card in my Probook 4520 s, due to the low flow.
So I searched for a while a 5 Ghz supporting the card and found out that I am only able to get in the "white" cards list working. Then I looked at this page:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/document.jsp?lang=en & CC = US & objectid = c02487851 & jumpi...

These cards can be any, that have been used in 4520 s. Mine (according to the Device Manager) is the Broadcom 4313 802.11b/g/n. This thing only supports 2.4 Ghz. Now, I looked at the list for a 5 Ghz supporting the card. I think that the 802.11A/B/G/N WLAN Intel HMC 572520-001 minicards can operate on 5 Ghz, because I read, that A appears only with maps of 2.4/5 Ghz. I read too, that maps of 2.4 / 5 GHz have 3 antennas, but on this card I only the slots for 2. Is this good? And this card would go into my 4520 s?

    Greetings,

    Colony

    Hi, colony:

You are right about your statement about the cards being described as A/B/G/N dual-band.

The best thing to do is look at Chapter 3 of your service manual.

You can only order one of the cards listed as supported and it MUST have the HP reference on it or it won't work.

I see only two possibilities for you...

The 6200 Intel and Broadcom 4322.  Make sure you also get the part # that corresponds to what country you live.

If your current Broadcom card has integrated Bluetooth, you will lose your Bluetooth capability if you order an integrated HP bluetooth module and probably the cable too.

None of the dual-band cards have embedded bluetooth.

    Link to the service manual.

    http://bizsupport1.Austin.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c02439213/c02439213.PDF

Then, you can order a card on the link below.

If you do not live in the United States, you can change your country at the top of the page to yours.

  • HP Probook 4520 s installed new hard drive with Windows 7 pro x 64 and drivers - very lag

    Hello

I had my HP Probook 4520 s for 5 years and a few months ago, he started to become very lag, especially when you use the internet, streaming video and games.

I thought I had identified the problem as a bad sector on the hard drive and so I bought a new hard drive and upgraded the RAM from 4 GB to 8 GB at the same time.

When I installed the new hard drive, I couldn't burn an image of my old hard drive (it would stop during the process and was unable to do so because of an error). I used my little HP Windows 7 Pro x 64 operating system DVD and your HP Application and Driver Recovery DVD to install the necessary drivers on my replacement new drive.

The RAM and the new hard drive seem to be good, however, it's more lag. I tried to use latancy monitors to see if the drivers are the issue. It seems that there is a huge amount of latancy and my CPU is at an almost constant usuage of 100%.

LatancyMon points in the following drivers: usbport.sys, tcip.sys, acpi.sys, iastor.sys, ndis.sys, dxgkrnl.sys and so on.

I've seen forums where they will guide you step by step how to determine what drivers are causing latancy. This I could do although he always seems to change drivers who are the cause of the problem and there seems to be a lot of pilots of causing this problem it is so difficult to bring out here that one. In addition, there seems to be no solution to these problems. The only one offered is to update the offending drivers. This does not solve the problem with lag and the latancy yet.

    Any ideas?

P.s. I really don't know not what is the underlying issue is here so I don't know if this is the right forum to post in. Drivers may not at all be the issue, I spent the last four weeks trying to solve this problem.

    Hello skinandbones13

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand that you have a problem with your laptop. However, since it is a commercial laptop, you should post your question on the map cell of the HP Enterprise Forums for a better answer.

    Have a wonderful day!

  • BSOD BCCode 116 - generated after installing updated drivers for ATI Mobility Radeon HD display drivers for HP Probook 4520 s 5470

I continue to work through issues with my HP Probook 4520 that is now almost 4 years with the same problem of a frozen screen.

Today, I decided to work in seeing if there was new ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 available display drivers.

I have the version of 15/03/2011 of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.  With that came the AMD Catalyst install Manager Version 3.00.0868

    .

During his visit the HP site I saw that they had a newer version available on the graphics card available with the date of April 30, 2011 and the download file has been identified as sp52818.exe for the Version of the graphics driver to download 8.743.2-- 110315 5A - 115833C.

In light of the penalty, that I got with my graphic display driver 15/03/2011, I decided to uninstall the drivers of my 15/03/2011 and download the drivers of 30/05/2011.

Doing this has my computer I notified that I already have the sp52818.exe file and so I was a little confused, but I allowed him to install over my existing file.

To install the file sp52818.exe successfully, I went to work.  Then after some time (within an hour), I got a message generated by computer at the bottom right of my screen saying a newer version of my graphics card was available at www.amd.com .

(first thought was - why HP had it?)

In any case... I decided to click on the suggestion box, visit www.amd.com and see what they had.  I was directed to install a driver to automatically detect the utility, and during the installation, the utility's suggestion came back that my computer can access a new graphic display driver.  I thought it was nice and so I then proceeded to of course download the .exe file for my HP probook 4520 s.  The proposed file was qualified: 13-12_mobility_win7_win8_64_dcl_ccc_whql_exe (graphic display for the ATI Radeon HD 5470 by suggestion of AMD driver.)

Everything goes well.  It starts to download the Catalyst install Manager Version 08.00.0915, then the ATI display drivers with > .NET Framework 4.5 (I'm just observing things that are facts).  Several times the black screen comes on, but that is to be expected.  I wait patiently, and finally I see the green bar of progress.  Just as the green bars come in the end, the screen goes black again for about 1 to 2 minutes.  Then suddenly the dreaded BSOD Blue Screen of Death comes with an error message saying that something has gone wrong and closing of windows, and he mentions something about Windows display drivers.  I'm not panicking yet, but is offered the possibility of recovering and I let the computer pick up normally, and I return to the screen of welcome with happiness and connect to.

From the entrance, the first thing I see is a Windows Error Message, I opened and saved and here provide for our education and research.

I'm not able to open the .dmp file to display as the file associations cannot establish a connection, and I am unable to find the AppData file under users.  Windows 7, it is extremely difficult find the files suggested by error messages.

I would like to know why the BSOD appeared, then please explain the error message that came as I was trying to install a driver recommended for my computer using download driver acceptable practices, causing me concern and frustration, as well as the 4 years of intermittent to faithfully display failure.  I'm not sending the machine backwards.  There must be a solution.

(Rabbit Trail - the suggestion to display the privacy statement is also an attempt to distract people to get a real fix and do believe that Windows 'help' you who isn't.)

The laptop is running and I can see things on the screen.  It seems OK, but I'm going to face other issues?

You are right that the accident may have been caused by the newly installed ATI driver. I checked on the HP Site and there is a version of the same display offered with the same output driver date on the ATI site, so the difference may be that the version of HP's specific system, while the ATI Version is just generic, so my suggestion would be to uninstall the ATI Version and replace it with the HP driver.

  • HP ProBook 4520 s wirelless card

    Hello

I have a HP Probook 4520 s for about 4 years. My problem is that my wirelless card has stopped working. I tried to reinstall the drivers for this card, reset, but it didn't. A computer guy told me, this problem is in wirelless card, I need a new. It is SPARE HP 602992-001 WiFi card. I'm looking for a new on the internet and I read, this new card must be in the white list for my model. I founs some cards on ebay, but I don't know what they will be working. Can you help me, when I should looking for a new or who can I buy instead of this one?

    I'm running on Windows 8.1.

I'm looking forward to your reply.

    Kind regards

    Matho285

Here you go for an exact replacement:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-ProBook-4520s-Wireless-WiFi-card-602992-001-/131340968132?PT=US_Internal_Network_Cards&hash=item1e948820c4

Yours is a wi - fi network and bluetooth module, so if you want to replace double you another module. 4520 s used several types of cards. They are listed in pages 70-73 repair here:

    Manual

It is another option for you:

    WiFi 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 Broadcom 4313 and 2070 Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Combo adapter
    600370 001

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-ProBook-4525s-OEM-Wireless-WiFi-Bluetooth-network-card-600370-001-tested-/281471965214?PT=US_Internal_Network_Cards&hash=item418909581e

Read the instructions carefully for instructions on replacing the card. It's a bit more involved on this model. Do not know why the Ralink is more expensive than the Broadcom; personally, I prefer the Broadcom. If you replace the Broadcom module you load new wifi and Bluetooth drivers. Here are the Win7 drivers:

    http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/swdDetails/?sp4ts.oid=4145326&spf_p.tpst=swdMain&spf_p.prp_swdMain=wsrp-navigationalState%3Didx%253D%257CswItem%253Dob_86863_2%257CswEnvOID%253D4059%257CitemLocale%253D%257CswLang%253D%257Cmode%253D%257Caction%253DdriverDocument&javax.portlet.begCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken&javax.portlet.endCacheTok=com.vignette.cachetoken

HP did not post drivers Windows 8.1 for this model, but it is likely to have the drivers to load automatically for the bluetooth and wifi Broadcom.

  • ProBook 4520 s: lack of features on a ProBook 4520 s after upgrade Windows 10

    Hello dear community

Long story short: I have a HP ProBook 4520 s and yesterday I upgraded manually (with the tool provided by MS) Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10 Pro. Everything went very well and smooth and it works perfectly well until now.

The problem is that some of the features of the laptop no longer work. Here are some examples:

    -Highlight the option on touchpad

    -built-in camera

-Some FN buttons like the one for the brightness of the screen while others (for example, the volume and email) working

My reasoning is that it lacks certain drivers or these functions are somehwat is not compatible with the new OS (it's a 5 + year old PC after all), but I could be wrong. I'd like to hear some suggestions and opinions on this.

If someone needs to my specifications complete, there are:

    Dear jury,

    has obtained a ProBook 4520 s with a Wifi/Bluetooth Combo of Ralink.

    Updgraded to W10 64bits.

    Everything works fine, exceppt Bluetooth,

be struggling for 2 weeks and about to give up :-(

any suggestions, the steps, the pilots could work?

    Thanks in advance

    Christoph, Philippines

    Hi, Christoph:

Unfortunately the Ralink BT 3.0 or earlier version of hardware does not work in 8.1, W8 and W10.

Ralink cards with hardware version 4.0 BT have supported for these operating systems.

If you want internal bluetooth, you will need to replace the Board with one of those enrolled in the service manual wireless.

The only other wlan supported with BT that I see listed is this one...

    WiFi 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 Broadcom 2070 Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Combo adapter and 4313 - reference HP 600370-00.

I believe that the bluetooth radio and model wireless card will work on W10, but I can't say 100% for sure.

    ACPI\HPQ0004
    *HPQ0004

I would also like to know 2 things: 1) exact my HP device drivers because when I get to the HP site for example driver Wifi for there are 4 different drivers. (2) model exactly the product of notebook, when searching for "ProBook 4520" string s in HP site it shows 3 search results. Please make it clear for me.

    Laptops series is: 2CE0181CL

    Product: WD848EA #ACB

What you need is the ACPI (advanced configuration protocol interface) driver for the installed processor. You can get that manufacturers are supported Web site on the processor. Intel Download Center is here.

Hello, try to hard rest your laptop (remove the battery and ac adapter and pressed the power button 20 sec, simply plug in the power adapter and you start a laptop computer), and then press F10 to access the bios and 'restore the default value' and "save changes and exit" ===> ok else try to install Hp softpaq Download Manager (it will check alls missed drivers and their installation) : http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=5060880&prodNameId=5060882&swEnvOID=4059&swLang=13&mode=2&taskId=135&swItem=ob-105327-1 And if the same issue, try to check the wireless antenna cables or test with another wlan mini card of the same model (you find the link bellow who remove and replace this part) : http://h20464.www2.hp.com/results.htm?SID=5060880&MEID=C2E018CF-081B-479F-A6A0-DCE8406A2623 Best Regards, Wajdi Engineer HP GS1 and CE Team

  • ProBook 4520 s: updates to driver for all components

Salvation; I read the posts on the update of the drivers on the ProBook 4520 s and I do not understand that we should select the most recent drivers from the drop-down list under EACH item listed.  I'm still a bit confused, however.  Some components have several drivers listed under them, some of which have different names/Descriptions.  I need to know WHICH of these "components named" is installed on my ProBook?  Alternatively, they are ALL different names in EACH of the installed components?  I'm afraid to install the wrong drivers if I select just the most recent review date, irrespective of the name/description.  I have had my ProBook 4520 s about 5 years and NEVER updated ALL drivers (that I can remember).  I am running Windows 7 Professional, 64-bit with the Intel Core i5 460 M/2.53 GHz Quad Core processor, a 320 GB Serial ATA-300, 7200 RPM hard drive and a HD Graphics Dynamic video memory technology Intel graphics controller, etc., etc.  The problems I encounter are: it is slow to start, it delayed opening opening sites & programs & there is a power outage occasional temporary graphics (gel?).  So, at the very least, I think that my graphic card driver needs to be updated.  But surely most other pilots must update as well.  (And Internet HP site lists a ton of drivers when I plug my ProBook.  I use my laptop every day and have not had a major problem.  I recently had to update the drivers on my HP printer, and even if the printer is NOW printing again, I ALWAYS shows an error on the ProBook (when I go in devices & printer from the control panel), on the Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-all-in-one. As the error message did not disappear after I solved the printing problem, I think it's probably a good idea to update ALL the drivers in my ProBook before I start to experience more problems... Is someone can you PLEASE help me understand WHAT drivers should I install and in WHAT order, so I do not screw up my ProBook?  Thank you very much!  I appreciate all help.

Go to the Device Manager in Control Panel, check the names of the devices under each category. Download the latest version of the one you want from the HP support page depending on the installed operating system

My quistion is: if I upgrade my RAM to will of 8 GB that improve my performance of the graphics card? specially for the games?

and there at - it something I can do to improve the performance of my game?

This will help a little bit, but not enough to make unplayable games playable. The only thing you can do is to make sure that you have the latest drivers and the game settings a lower value.

  • Recovery partition engage F11 starts after stock Win7 installed - Probook 4520 s

Laptop: HP Probook 4520 s (with the Energy Star label)

    OS: Windows 7 32-bit

Error: Nothing happens when you press F11 at startup

Deliver changes: installed Windows 7 from stock disc Windows 7

I am a PC technician with quite a few years behind me, but that gave me even after a day of research solutions to stop online.

A friend bought a ProBook 4520 s where the previous owner, just before selling it, installed Windows 7 on a disc of Windows 7 Microsoft stock (I suppose that pros sell with a 'clean' OS), who of course ERA naked place without drivers, etc..

When the installation has been made however, it didn't destroy the partitioning of HP (that is to say, the scores remained: SYSTEM OS (c:\), HP_RECOVERY, HP_TOOLS). These scores seem intact, so I am trying to run a HP recovery to return the computer to factory settings.
When the computer reboots, I am asked to press 'ESC' to the options, what I do, then it prompts 'F11' for HP Recovery. When I press F11, it starts only the Windows 7 operating system as usual. With what I've managed to collect via search, I think something was disturbed on the HP_RECOVERY as the MBR partition, or something, possibly by the previous user making the active HP_RECOVERY partition, then selecting "Repair Windows" on the Windows disk.

    I tried solutions include:

    • Pressing ESC-> F11 at startup [simply boots as usual].
    • The definition of the partition HP_RECOVERY 'active' disk management, and then restart [simply boots as usual].
    • Installation "Enhanced HP Backup and Recovery Manager for Microsoft Vista" (sp38131.exe) [when it is run, and the recovery of the PC is selected, it is said there is no partition recovery and demand for drives].
    • Installation "Fix for HP Multi-Partition Recovery Manager" (sp48415.exe) suggested to the 'green post' here [no change].
    • Installation 'Recovery Manager install for Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Patch' (sp45823.exe) [no change].
    • Install "HP Recovery Manager for Microsoft Windows 7" (sp45602.exe) [no change].

I live far from having access to the purchase of HP recovery DVDs, so need a solution for this problem, please. At most, I can download.

The operating system in recovery, I expect Windows 7, because there is a Windows 7 sticker on the laptop.

There is not any way I know how.

In addition, the recovery disk is a plain OEM version without drivers or software.

The DVD driver and application automatically installs the software and drivers that are on the recovery partition, but it is on the support page and driver of the laptop (with the exception of the DVD software, which isn't a big deal since you can play DVDs in W7 w/o any 3rd party software).

Just download and burn the ISO using a ISO burn option and reinstall W7.

If you can't find the drivers, please read this guide to find the hardware ID and after the first string for each of them, and I'll give you links to the drivers you need.

    http://laptop-driver.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-check-hardware-ID.html

I always delete all the partitions and reinstall a clean OS on any PC, I am owner and download all the drivers and the software I need, anyway.

I see no major reason for dismay.

A recovery partition is handy to have, but once you build the PC the way you want, use the included backup and imaging tools native to all versions of W7 and create your own recovery image on a drive hard portable usb.  Can use it if you need to recover the operating system.
