product key error

This will probably the wrong forum;  Rebuilt my pad think lenovo about three years old and done factory settings all updates requested by microsoft... (except 3 pack, that it might not install)

Tried to raise xcel and it asked for the product key that I entered in the bottom of the lenovo

(window XP sticker).  Xcel didn't like it, so after one the areas of troubleshooting, I've updated by product key for this key and it was accepted.  I tried twice and the second time, it showed that I had used this key, so I don't know that it has been installed.  I went back to xcel and he still wouldn't accept the product key.  What Miss me?

(not the widget update mentioned that it was impossible to install windows XP service pack 3.  Don't know why he can't since early on, I turn on automatic updates, but...   If this can be part of the same problem, I had two problems?

The product key is not on the machine, but on media or material supplied in the box with the machine.  Find this number and enter it...

    Hello

No, this isn't the Office product key, it is the Windows product key. Your machine has preinstalled TRIAL version. If you want to continue using it you have to buy the electronic identity card. I really hate this practice from suppliers and ALWAYS uninstall the trial version on my computers. Please visit the following link to buy the product key.

You can pay a lot cheaper for the Home & Student version and much cheaper, with a student ID card.

I would like to refute that by saying the only way I could have MSE's I have a legitimate copy of xp.  Any other suggestions?  I'm about to switch to linux...

This key seems to have been plastered all over the internet (I don't check before)- and seems to be a key of SP3 installation by default, which means that it can never be activated.
You have to find the key that came with your package.

MSE will be installed on a system not activated Fortunately - it checks Validation, no activation.
Any machine that is in the grace period will be validated (by design).

    Hello

Sorry, but Lenovo gave you the wrong information.

As Vista is preinstalled, you get the product keys for Lenovo, not Microsoft.

    «How to get a replacement product key»

If the software is preinstalled on your computer, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a replacement product key. »

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

As the product key sticker is faded you can use these methods to reinstall Vista.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks and to reinstall the operating system.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

The methods above resettlement generally do not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

  • Satellite C650 - activation of Microsoft Office pre-installed product key errors

I recently bought by Satellite C650 laptop comes with Windows 7 pre-installed. However, when I try to enter the 25-character, the sticker Windows 7 product key, in order to validate my Microsoft Office license, it says "the key is incorrect. Make sure you have the correct key, and then retype '.
I looked on the Microsoft Web site, and the only advice he gives is that I'll have to buy a new product key. Contact microsoft or toshiba to be sorted?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

When you bought your laptop you have been assigned to evaluate office m over 3 months, it was a trial version. Now, it should be bought if you want to use again. You can use Open Office:

    http://www.OpenOffice.org/

OpenOffice is a suite of open source leader for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more. It is available in many languages and works on all common computers.

Finally and above all the product key on the lower side of your laptop belongs to the pre-installed Windows version and has nothing to do with Toshiba.

  • Wiping Hard Drive, Reinstalled with Windows 7 with upgrade disk product key error

My computer has been acting upward, so I back up hard drive and erased the hard drive with the BACK CLEAN ALL command. I then reinstalled windows 7 from my Windows 7 Upgrade disk and restore my files on hard disk. The computer works fantastic and returned half of the memory of the hard drive. A few days later, I get a message on the screen that I have 30 days left until I can produce a product key from the original Windows installation, does not accept the upgrade product key.

I tried the product key located on the bottom of my laptop for Windows Vista comes with the HP computer. It does not work and it gave me no disk backup for Windows Vista from HP.

I called Microsoft and they told me to contact HP for the product key. I see on this forum that someone else has written a similar plea, because it is a plea, and HP said to contact Microsoft. In other words, Microsoft says to contact HP and HP says to contact Microsoft.

I use Microsoft since Windows 3.2 operating systems and have bought a lot of products of them. It's my 3rd HP laptop, my wife is on her 2nd HP laptop. Well you know what? If I don't get this resolved quickly by one of your companies, and I'm not remember Microsoft, I'm through the two of you.

I don't see where Microsoft is not being fooled off but when it's to the detriment of a loyal customer, so don't worry. HP is also responsible for this. An upgraded version of Windows 7 (to upgrade from Vista or XP) should be smart enough (and I thought it was) to remember that I had the original version and its product key should be enough. Also I don't never told me that I had to keep the old product keys, and it doesn't matter anyway because the product key is always available in my laptop HP, but it does not work.

I'm not buying another HP without your help and actually buying an Apple Mac for my wife and my next computer if it is not resolved. I think that HP is probably as bad as Microsoft so that it will not be solved and I'm not shelling out more money for something I already own.

I used here from method 3 with success. Basically just throw the disc to upgrade from in Windows and make install an inplace upgrade.

  • Reinstalled Windows Vista, and now I get a product key error message when I try to enter.

try to put the product key in after a reinstall it won't let me

I had to reinstall vista on my computer, and then he told me to buy anouther product key I do not understand why. can someone help

Your machine was manufactured before the release of Windows Vista.

The COA sticker is of a type that cannot be used on computers that were shipped with preinstalled Vista - so this key has been moved from another machine and is not valid on this one.

For which version and edition of WIndows is the slot machine license, * according to the COA sticker on his case? *
