To my horror, the sticker has a few scratches and at least one of the characters is unrecognizable. Another character was overshadowed, but it seems to be part of a '4 '.

  My question: "is there another place where I can find the product key? For example, can I get from the recovery disk?

You are unable to update, but you could reinstall 8.1 if you ever have to return to the factory settings. Do a recovery drive of the new facility on a flash drive. The serial number in the physical box that you buy in the store wasn't the number for the software.  It was the serial number in the cloud, very difficult to know when you see a serial number in the box with the Cd online.  But thanks for the reply to my post.
