  • Product key not valid on Vista Business

I purchased 2 Toshiba Satellite about 2 years ago. They have every two Windows Vista Business preloaded and none of them has been altered in any way. They have both worked perfectly for about a year and it still works perfectly now.
But the other suddenly decided that the Windows product key is not valid and I can't get Windows running except in reduced functionality mode.

Could you please explain how this happens suddenly someone and what can be done to reverse the trend.

    Hello

It's not explainable to me the Toshiba and OS recovery in this disc disc is already activated and does not need to be reactivated.

I think that some damaged registry or affected Microsoft OS in a strange way updates

I think that you could solve this recovery of the laptop using the Toshiba disc.
Sorry mate, but that's all I can suggest

  • Vista - product key not accepted when I type in, what should I do now?

When I try to use Office or Power Point, I asks me to enter the product key. I do it after reading it on the sticker on the base of my laptop, but it's not accept it? Any ideas what I need to do? I'm short of attempts, I can do. Thanks for your help.
    Harry.

I believe that the key to product based on the portable computer is for Vista. It is not for the office.

My laptop came with a trial version of Office that I had to buy a license online to continue using it after a few months.

  • Windows 7 product key not recognized by windows

I have the HP dv6-3122us laptop with windows 7 Home premium preinstalled with Office Starter 2010 reason for all the problems of the system listed in convenience stores, that I ended up having to restore the default values. Would not install until through a guru on this forum post, I could finally restore from disk by removing the battery. I don't know what happened but when finally restored the hard drive used 57 GB of my drive and shows not all disks on my laptop. It shows a lot of files when pulled upwards, but originally before the resstore, there were only about 8 GB used. My other problem is that it asks my product key to activate windows and does not recognize the one I provided with the PC says that I might have to buy another key. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Also my guarantee for the PC is no longer valid. Micorsoft says to contact the manufacturer, the manufacturer says to contact Microsoft. All diagnostics say there is nothing wrong, but OH YES it is!

It won't work because the product key has been for an OEM different to install your trying to install a retail business instead of OEM product key which will not work. That's why your do pass this message. What version of Windows you are trying to re - install? When you reinstalled you wipe the HARD drive and the partition hidden as well? Maybe when you reinstall again to install the Windows 7 home premium and who should install. Put it this way you have Home Premium and no future install disc you use will have to be Home Premium to use the product key that is located on the sticker on your laptop. You do not get to use the product key for Windows 7 Ultimate version, it works that way or or she will let you.

  • Error message: product key not valid during activation of FSX Acceleration Pack

Original title: problems to activate FSX Acceleration Pack

    Hello

I bought 'FSX Gold edition' from a retailer which included FSX Deluxe (2 CD ROM) + FSX Acceleration Expansion Pack (1 CD ROM); the package was of course with the Microsoft seal unbroken. Inside the box of however, there was only a single activation code, saying clearly "FSX Deluxe.  FSX Deluxe activated perfectly, but I'm not able to activate FSX acceleration due to the absence of key I guess. I tried to use the same key as Deluxe, but it says it is invalid.

I tried following the instructions of technical support, but they ask the number PI, that I wouldn't find anywhere in FSX Deluxe (which is already activated and good work) or FSX Acceleration (works only in mode activate later ).

We could solve this here or should I go back to the retailer?

    Thank you for your attention.

  • Product key not accepted when you try to install Windows XP.

Windows Xp reinstall the product key invalid pop up

OK, so here starts my road of woes. First of all, I got a problem with a driver updated on a COMPAQ DeskPro ENS P866. It complements removed all the sounds of this PC. I tried every fix on every techie forum goes without result... including uninstalling, resettlement (thanks to automatic and manual methods). Stop and start services, Fix IT, restores... etc etc. You name it I tried it. I knew that these drivers were on the original Windows installation, so I decided to bite the bullet and do a complete Tassel and take all the patches from its state of origin (desperate that Yes). OK so I took screen prints of my information on the product and information system before you start... I started to follow the XP Reinstall instructions by the support site for windows... and everything seemed to be going great until I arrived at the main screen of the product. I put in my 25 char key and got the pop up "the product Id you entered is not valid. The CD I have, was not a copy retail it was a copy of illigit. However, I bought a license real profit to perform this legal copy... then this could explain why its causing me problems? Otherwise why the * it will not accept my key bought. I checked then double I indexed in as it was printed... and I am really frustrated. Ive gone 1 speaker works do not, no noise, no computer/XP... I tried the Chat Support and they confirmed my product key is still valid... and is the version correct etc etc. But thensaid I need to call a number paying to discuss further. I realize XP is under extended warranty... They want to pay my 46 + VAT + extras before they will even speak with me... at all. So what now? Product ID is 7558881-76487-084-22948 Microsoft Windows XP Professional... updated originally to NT/2000. The sticker on the unit refers to the earlier version HELPPPPP!

  • Product key not recognized during a repair of xp pro sp2 on a genuine xp pro sp2 disk. stuck on the main screen of the product.

After starting problems on my Toshiba satellite with xp pro sp2, I booted my xp pro sp2 disk and did a repair instead of a reinstall software.  He went through the motions, removed the sys files, copied them back and so on.  Then he asked my product key and I typed in it and it does not recognize.  It's a real bought copy of xp pro sp2.  Now, I'm stuck on the main screen of the product.  When I start the laptop on the xp disk it blue screens, the only option I have is to enter a product key in the configuration...  I have my receipt for my xp pro disk and product key for certification sticker.  Help, please!

"XP MCE Pro? That is not normal! It would be one or the other (AFAIK). Here is an example:

    http://cdn2.ioffer.com/IMG/item/811/353/46/o_XyuQav94U1MQ0Ci.jpg

If the hybrid you mention is the real thing, it's new to me! I know that some have described as a superset of Pro MCE, but I never used this version, so I can't tell you definitively that a COA sticker wouldn't this combo of terms...

In addition, the term 'Enterprise Edition' implies something not legitimate. I do not think that Microsoft has never used the term marketing for Windows.

If you had a legitimate retail version of Windows XP (any version) that is not used on another PC, you can perform a Clean Install (not a repair installation), using this key (not the key COST laptop). The only way you can use the key from your laptop COST would be if you used the correct installation CD - a generic OEM version of the corresponding XP (MCE?) version. In this way, you can perform a clean installation or a repair installation.

Have you looked at the links I posted? What do you mean by "boot option? The instructions were to press the zero key while turning on the laptop. You are not supposed to enter the OS! The recovery partition is quite distinct.

If your laptop does not a recovery partition, you should be able to get the correct recovery CD for this Toshiba - by Toshiba or you might need to find a reputable eBay merchant, etc.. Restoredisks.com, who has a good rating from Better Business Bureau, they probably sold too.

  • Product key not valid with XP Home to Professional upgrade

I'm upgrading two computers on a customer site of XP Home Edition for XP Professional so that they can participate fully in a windows domain.  The customer has already had two upgrade packs that were an old service pack (SP1 I think).  I can't upgrade using these disks because their home edition SP3.  I have XP Professional SP3 discs that seem Dell OEM but they give an invalid product key error.

Do I have to get the upgrade of the disk with SP3 on them and if so do you have a source?

"AlanGroves" wrote in message News: 5ad56eb2-6572-4420-9ff7-54c84666a20c...

They are two Dell computers and XP Home Edition version that is on the computer is a Dell's OEM version.

Upgrade doesn't happen even at activation.  It is on a initial screens before the upgrade began that he ask the product key.

I am typing the correct characters - I've probably got at least 30 Microsoft software installs a month.

You can try to get answers to my questions.

    Thank you

You should be able to integrate the SP3 in the disks to upgrade and use.
You will almost certainly not be able to use any OEM disks to do a clean install of SP3.
You should be able to use standard OEM System Builder drives to clean - install a SP3 version, using the COA key - if not then enter any key to everything and the default key must be used. Once the installation is complete, use the product key update tool to change the key for the COA key.

  • Why my product key not valid with an installation from another CD as the original?

I had to reload a fresh install of Win XP on a Toshiba laptop. Given that the previous owner had lost the CD; I took one I had at home a try to install it on my laptop with laptop computer product key stuck under the laptop. but when I try to install said that it is a key of product not valid. This is false because before to format the laptop, it had windows XP installed with this product key and it worked fine. I sort of... ending up with the fact that the installation needs a corresponding product key... Am I wrong? If Yes, what can I do if I want to use my laptop product key and I don't have the Original CD of Installation?

    Thank you!

You have installed using the installation XP bad disc. XP installation disks are related to the version of the operating system and the type of installation for each particular product key. You need to install either with the recovery media OEM Toshiba (best solution, solved by ordering the recovery disc from Toshiba for a little money - usually less than $30) OR a generic OEM installation disk for the version for installed XP (Home/Pro/Media Center).  If you use a generic OEM installation disc, then you will enter the product key for the thumbnail of the laptop. If you use a generic OEM install disc, then you should go to the Web from Toshiba site and download/install all the drivers and utilities for this laptop model. There is always a ton of them.

To contact Toshiba support, buy recovery disks, do an install clean/restore factory with these discs. You won't need to enter a product key if you use the restore disks.

  • Product key not valid after reinstall

I have a gateway desktop comp I didn't have the restore disc and I went to a local store that has installed a clean version for me and now my product key does not work, it says its a touch invalid but its on the back of my computer I have no understanding.

The 'local' store use the same type of media (OEM) and the same edition of Windows Vista that printed on the sticker to your machine?

I would get; local store ' remedy if it does not-well that when you take them make sure you tell them that you will use Belarc Advisor to check the key they use to install macthes the sticker on the machine (that you now write down and store elsewhere.)

Or - you can communicate with gateway and see if they will get you the correct restore/recovery/installation media...
