Product key problems

I had my laptop hard drive crash. The laptop came with Vista Basic but without recovery or any disk system. For the original Vista product key is on a sticker at the back of the laptop from Microsoft. I bought a Vista Ultimate upgrade and installed. Has been registered by Microsoft OK. The new Vista hung a couple weeks later and the necessary solution to a clean install on my new hard drive. I put in the upgrade version product key. Microsoft now says the key is already used (it was by me on the same machine) and stop Vista Ultimate in 24 days. How to make society recognize that I replaced my program not working with himself on the same machine on which I initially installed it? Thank you.  Mike

You can not legally do a clean install with an upgrade disc.

Reinstall the Vista Basic > then go to the ultimate.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

See you soon.

I lived all the help from microsoft and supported sites and forums (and several others) and there are questions similar but although I can work on them (all sources) what's going on I can't find an answer, and the only way I can get the support of Microsoft is to pay for it because of this problem , emailing them led it is suggessted I ask here so sorry if I am repeating something already asked but I really don't know what else to do.

I bought Studio Expression a couple of years ago for my daughter (the memory blurred here but I am sure it's the version 1 but has been upgraded via download on 2 as a special microsoft encouragement - as they do now for 3-4).  It has been installed and works very well then the hard drive has not changed, re-installed and all worked fine again until a few weeks ago when problems of memory led to one perfect reformat and re-install. Studio expression re will not activate as it claims that my product key is not valid. I also can't support since it requires my product key and said "there is a problem" with him when I entered it.

Expression Studio now seems running on the 60-day trial license, I need to find a way to overcome this problem without having to hand over my credit card data to microsoft for support.

I had already decided to update its version (she uses it because his school do and they are still using version 2) but in no way can I do if the reason why I came to understand of what is correct.

My pc is custom made and as such comes with no software installed and so I buy all my separately from the software, it is not the OEM versions.  I have Windows Vista 64-bit on the affected system and everything worked very well on that front.

  • Upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium (not the valid product key problem) to Windows 7 Home premium

My friend gave a laptop computer whose OS is Windows Vista Home Basic Edition.  I format the computer and install a Windows Vista Home Premium I have for my desktop computer.  Now, I have a problem with a product key.  When I start the laptop, it indicates a product key requirement.  I enter my desktop OS product key, but I still see the declaration valid product key.  My question is this.  If I buy the upgrade to Windows 7, the operating system will work in the laptop even if she has a problem with the product key.  If I buy Windows 7 upgrade, there will be no problem with the product key?  Or do I have to buy a new Windows Vista Home Premium for the laptop?  Or if you know anywhere I can buy a product key for Windows Vista with a reasonable price?  Thank you

You cannot transfer a license from another computer to another computer, especially if the license came with this machine. You will need to purchase a new license.

Yes, you can purchase a license of Windows 7 Edition upgrade Home Premium and use it.

  • Office 2007 product key problem

    Hi guys,.

I bought a new Toshiba laptop (that of £329.99) and I try to activate my Office 2007.

Office 2007 pre-installed with my laptop; If the product key was written on the bottom of my laptop.

Well, I have this Poduct Key 25 character entered my Office 2007 (when he invites me to do), but he repeated to me that it is incorrect, then I CERTAINLY know that it was the key to accurate product that was written on the bottom of the laptop.

Is there something wrong, that I could do that I don't know?

Can anyone suggest what I can do to fix this?

    Kind regards

    Brown bread

    Hello

The product at the bottom of the device key does not belong to Office 2007!
It is up to the operating system that was preinstalled on your laptop and it is an OEM key that only work with the operating system comes with the laptop!

As I m not wrong not Office 2007 pre-installed on your laptop is a trial version.
Check exactly in the operating instructions!

  • OE upgrade and product key problem

I want to upgrade vista to windows 7 on my HP laptop. However, when I enter my product key for vista, I receive a message that is not valid. The software is the original that was on the computer when you bought it. What should I do?

    Hello

There was a free update of Vista 7 years ago, but this offer has expired for a long time.

How does the Windows 7 upgrade Option?

The Windows 7 upgrade Option is available through participating PC manufacturers on some PC and Microsoft on any purchase of packaged product Windows Vista. The Windows 7 upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business and Ultimate editions. Your upgrade to Windows 7 will be the comparable version: so you will get either Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional (upgrade to Windows Vista Business) or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Windows 7 upgrade Option program runs since June 26, 2009 by January 31, 2010. Some manufacturers may choose to shorten the time of upgrade Option.

  • Satellite C660-1R1 - recover Windows 7 product key

    Dear Toshiba support,

My Toshiba Satellite C660-1R1 bought in 2011. By the end of 2013, the original HARD drive died and I replaced it with an SSD. That said, I can't start the recovery with the original Windows 7 installation partition, or I can retrieve the product key from the registry. In addition, the sticker of the product key on the back of the laptop is almost unreadable. I read only a few letters.

Is it possible for the support of Toshiba recover my Windows 7 Home product key based on the serial number and other details? I can send the whole of the back of my laptop with two stickers to the evidence.

    Thanks for any help.

Some people have had success with the digitization of the AOC and using software to improve the image.

Double check you type the product key exactly as written on the license. A few letters and numbers look like.

You receive an error message after you enter the product key when you try to install Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310637

Note: The product key you use must be used with the correct disk version. You must use the disc that came with your license.

For example, if you have an OEM license, then this license can be used only with a Pro XP OEM disc. OEM licenses are licenses that come with your computer, usually the product key is stuck on the side or at the top of the computer, or a laptop.

If you have a retail license, you must have a retail XP Pro Version. Retail licenses are FPP (full packaged product) and often have the license on a yellow or orange sticker.

If you have an enterprise license (Volume License), you must have a Corporate Version of the XP Po. These are usually only available for large networks.

The license sticker will be a version, it is an example for an OEM version: X 11-37156

Make a note of your version and find the disk corresponding to this version.

A product key can be activated a limited number of times, if your product key has been activated before it can be reactivated as long as it is to be reinstalled on the same machine. Reactivation must be made by phone, if not, you need to change the product key.

But after I installed the new windows, activate windows popped up and said this product key you entered cannot be used to activate windows on this computer. I have three computers at home. And I have them updated to windows 7. But after I installed the new windows, windows activation has popped up

You bought a copy of Windows 7 for each computer?

You can install a Windows 7 purchase on several computers if you have the Family Pack. When you have the 'Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack' for 3 computers, it is a retail copy and you can install Windows 7 on three computers at once. He'll say 'Family Pack' on it.

When you have the regular commercial version, it can be moved to another computer, but it can be installed on a single computer at a time.

If you have a legal copy for each computer, try to activate again. If activation fails, see the Microsoft Diagnostics real link below.

Call Microsoft use the manual phone Activation

If you have trouble activating Windows 7 you can call Microsoft to activate it by following these steps:

    1. start by clicking on the start menu, and then type: slui.exe 4

    2. press enter on your keyboard

    3. Select your country.

4 Select the telephone activation option, enter the number, do not select all options and wait for a person pick up, then explain what happened.

If you are still unable to activate:

    (1) download and run the Microsoft Genuine Diagnostics tool:

    (2) then copy and paste your results for inspection.

  • Use the same product key on multiple computers accidentally.

I had a simple problem, somehow in my household that is unknown to me, we met with the same copy of windows 7 Home Premium on two computers.  We received the product key of course rejected on both computers.  We got a new copy of Windows 7 ultimate for my dad's computer, he started this:(, mais maintenant nous ne pouvons pas obtenir autre sauf s'il la la clé.)  Thanks old man.  So what steps should I take, because there is only one computer using this key now.

    Original title: product key problem

Your best option is to move one of the computers to use the Express Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade and re-enable the other machine with Home Premium.

First of all, reactivate the machine with Windows 7 Home Premium, then proceed to the Express Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade.

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/950929/en-us

If the license for Windows 7 Ultimate, you have access to is a retail version update or complete, you can use the product key and the Express upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate. First of all, check that the edition of Windows 7, you are upgrading is already enabled (if it isn't, you will encounter complications and that you might start all by performing a clean installation). Click Start, type Anytime Upgrade, click on the option enter a key, enter the key of Windows 7 Ultimate edition at the request, click Next, wait while checking the key, accept the license agreement, click on upgrade, wait while the software upgrades, (it may take 10 minutes or more depending on the if updates are required) your computer restarts automatically, after the reboot, Windows 7 will notify its update of the computer, the computer will restart once more automatically and will be completed the upgrade, a window will appear notifying the upgrade was successful and your computer is ready to use, click Close, you should be upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate files the stored settings and programs.

Alternatively, you can proceed to reactivate the other Home Premium installation by phone.
