Product key prompt changes

Hello
I bought Windows 7 Monday and until now I have not been able to install on my computer because I don't have the "change product key" fast on my computer, so I can not install my windows. What can I do, please?
Thank you
Leopold Scicluna

The installation procedure is given in installation and reinstallation of Windows 7

You can boot the system from the DVD and launch the installation from there.

I have a standard system install CD, which includes Windows + apps + registry settings on a number of standalone PCs.  I have product keys Windows for all PCs and licenses for all applications.   When I install the system on a new PC, it's the Windows product key for installation that was used for the disk image.   It is legally necessary to change Windows product key than the 'real' key of the PC, or holds the office product key is enough?

It is legally necessary to change Windows product key than the 'real' key of the PC, or holds the office product key is enough?

I don't have the good creditials answering a legal question, but I can say my personal opinion.  Since you have all the appropriate product keys you are not hacking software.  From a moral point of view, I think that would be nice.  I'd be worried about updates in case their site reviews you the same product key on each machine.  It could be a red flag that could get the banned key.

Your best option is to ask the Lenovo recovery media if the recovery partition does not work:

    Hello

How you obtained this version of Windows 7?

If it came preinstalled on a new computer, it would take a COA (certificate of authenticity) sticker somewhere on the computer case. This will contain the digit 25, alphanumeric, product key.

If you purchased Windows 7 separately, the product key will be on a card that was included in the box with the installation DVD.

  • Cannot change Windows 7 product key

    Hello

My computer says that I don't have Windows genuine. If I go on the computer properties the Activation of Windows area is not displayed if I could change my product key, slui.exe also does not open. I run command prompt and type slmgr.vbs - ipk and none that works. The operating system will not want to work more?

Your computer has a version of the OEM - SLP Windows 7 Ultimate installed.  Due to the fact that several critical system files have been tampered with, you will not be able to change the product key.  You need to reinstall your Windows 7 operating system using the recovery method recommended by the manufacturer of your computer.

  • How can I change the product key Windows 7 starter edition

    Hi all

I tried to change the product key on my netbook, because I had to replace the hard drive and I used my recovery disks of the brothers that he has the same exact model. However when I had done restoring the product key is also the same so I wanted to put the original back on.

I used slui methods both properties before, but neither give me a way to change the product key at the moment. When I go to properties it says only: windows is activated without any options to change of key and when I run slui a window appears which says activation succeeded.

Am I missing something? or is it because its Windows 7 starter?

Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance

    Click Start, type: CMD

    Right-click on CMD

    Click on run as administrator

At the command prompt, type the following commands:

slmgr.vbs - ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (to replace the specified in the current product key)

  • How to change Windows 7 product key

Windows recently told me that my copy of Windows is not genuine. I got this copy for a little over a year and a half now with the problems. So I bought another key and any of the other options seem to be working. This includes: Enter system properties and then clicking on the 'change product key' (option is not there), the use of slmgr.vbs in command prompt (command not recognized) and using "activate windows" (does not open). I have included a copy of my journal MGADiag for help.

  • Pavilion x 2: Windows product key Validation after hardware change (new SSD)

I have a Pavilion laptop x 2 with a 64 GB SSD.  It came with Windows 8.1 but he now works Windows 10 - of course.  I decided to upgrade the 256 GB SSD.  I bought the appropriate module (a Sandisk).  I recently contacted Windows support to inquire about the procedure to validate the OS once I did the material exchange.  I wasn't sure how it would work since my x 2 Pavilion has incorporated into BIOS product key.  Microsoft told me that because I was going to do a hardware change I would need a new product key (in other words my laptop current product key would be 'blocked').  I was able to recover the product key of my Pavilion x 2 (OEM and installed keys - what is the difference?).

Does anyone have experience in this field?  Once I have replace the SSD and perform a clean install Windows 10, will be the key to product embedded BIOS validate operating system or it will reject?  Since I'm NOT buying a HP SSD (with preloaded operating system) and that my x 2 Pavilion is now long out of warranty?  I really have to pay over a hundred dollars for a new Windows operating system license?

Thanks in advance for any advice/help.

    Francis

Parameters indicate that I have a digital right so with a bit of luck when I change the SSD and install Windows 10, the machine must validate without a qualm.  I tried to see if I could link my Validation of my Microsoft account but I did not have this option on my settings (although in the past when I re-install Windows 10, link validation of my Microsoft account operating system so I guess it works.)  Also, I guess I have the anniversary edition from my machine updated automatically.

If all else fails, I'll see how it goes after the SSD upgrade and if I have to deal with Microsoft.  I also agree with you that change the SSD (essentially the ' drive') is NOT a significant change in equipment and shall not impose a new product key, but then, nothing surprises me more.

Your tips were helpful and I thank you.

  • Change the product key with a Windows 8.1 apdate

    I WANT 4 - 1130us I've had for about 1 year and it came with pre-installed Windows 8.  I've since updated to Windows 8. 1.

On the screen: System control panel - system and safety - is a link to "Get more features with a new edition of Windows".  When I select it it then requires a product key.  Belerac using the product key appears as being for Windows 8.1 (x 64).  I enter the product key, but it is rejected as invalid.

    I'm doing something wrong?

The product key there with the update in 8.1?  If so, how di I find my key windows 8.1?

    Thank you

    Hello

The product key is will not change when you updated to Windows 8.1, but it is used to activate the system operation cannot be used to buy additional upgrades such as Windows Media Center etc - this requires you to first purchase the upgrade key appropriate for the additional component, you need.

See the Microsoft link below for more details.

  • Change the product key to use COA OEM during the product upgrade

I found the kkid106 question "can I use a product key Windows 7 OEM to a retail facility.

But as it is not my particular case, I want to be sure and make the issue.

The question is on a clean install of Windows 7 Home Retail using Windows 7 OEM Home.  My case is not a clean install.

I have the following two scenarios:

Scenario 1. A computer with Windows XP Pro OEM who got the original damage.  I have an Image backup which I bring to a Destination with Windows 8 OEM computer.  I get a retail upgrade of Windows 8.  I restore the Image to the destination computer, and then upgrade old XP Pro OEM with retail upgrade to Windows 8.  Technically I find myself with a computer without a license since the upgrade come from an OEM from another computer.  Now, I change the product key by using the Destination COA OEM computer to make a licensed computer.

This scenario is correct.  Can I validate the license online or by phone?

Scenario 2. A computer with Windows XP Pro OEM who got the original damage.  I have an Image backup which I bring to a Destination with Windows 8 OEM computer.  I have an Upgrade download Windows 8 without product key.  I restore the Image to the destination computer, and then upgrade old XP Pro OEM upgrade download to Windows 8.  I find myself with a computer without a license, because the upgrade is unlicensed and comes from an OEM from another computer.  Now, I change the product key by using the Destination COA OEM computer to make a licensed computer.

This scenario is correct.  Can I validate the license online or by phone?
