  • Satellite U300-151 - halftone color display

    Everyone,

I bought a new Satellite U300-151 laptop w Vista 32 bit on board, installed the latest patches (display, bios, etc.) and at some point (unfortunately I can't say where it started) I came for a display problem.

Namely, color settings are 32 bits of depth and it seems that is not enough colors so it starts to prevaricate objects and their production nickname big pixels.

When I roll it back to 16-bit, the colors become smoother crapped but also because they are really different from the other screens I have.

People on this thread of the forum say that it can be connected with the BIOS. I have just flashed the 3.9 most recent so if someone at - there a solution to my problem or just more old BIOS it would be very appreciated.

    Dear Petr

Satellite U300 laptop is new model with, I think, guarantee valid and the best thing to do is to contact the service provider authorized in your country. They exchange defective hardware component (poster or graphics card).

Please don't get me wrong, but I don't really see anything that you can do it alone.

One last thing: if possible please test with external monitor. If the problem persists, the graphics card must be defective and the motherboard should be replaced.

  • Satellite U300-151 plant of the standby or sleep mode extended when WIFI is turned on

I have a new satellite U300-151. BIOS V3.80 and Intel version 11.5.0.32 wireless (which seems to be the latest driver). Vista SP1

When return to work of the standby or hibernation mode laptop still crashes if the wireless switch is enabled.

I am aware that it is an issue being discussed in a number of forums, but apart from references hopeful to SP1 and drivers, that I have not fallen on a solution. SP1 does not appear to have helped to solve my problem.

    All responses - thanks.

My knowledge of the SP1 could makes some problems because not all drivers are compatible with the new Vista service package.

The laptop goes down without installing SP1?

There are a few general options that must be verified.
First check if your WLan driver can be updated.
Second, you must Access the properties of the Protocol TCP/IP of WLan and must check if all options are set for the automatic.

Last but not least all firewall settings should be checked also. Most incorrect security settings might prevent the internet connection.

  • My experience with Satellite U300 after zapping Vista

    Hi all

New to the forum but I would like to share my re-love of my laptop computer with you all.

First of all, I'm a big fan of Toshiba.

My wife has one and after several bad experiences with cheap laptop, I decided to splash out on a Qosmio, a few years ago. Absolutely brilliant. Very well build / design feature.

However as I started to travel it has proved difficult to wear so I decided to buy a Toshiba Satellite U300. Look at the business, very good for the price.

Only slight downside is feeling a little low cost keyboard, but other that it looked all good.

Then I pulled up and all the problems started.

    1 slow at startup.
2 would often freeze after the connection.
    3. slow to do anything whatsoever under Vista.
    4. install a 3 G modem that constantly froze.
    5. connection to a local network could cause it to freeze.
    6. constant blue screen of death.

He referred to John Lewis and got a replacement.
It was slightly better but still frozen a lot!

I was very frustrated because I had ZERO problems with my Qosmio.

I decided to skip Vista and see if my WinXP SP2 makes a difference, or if it was a hardware problem...

Put XP on has proven difficult as the drive not recognized Toshiba help would have been appreciated on this but has managed to translate the Spanish site in forums and installed.

    WOW

    * What difference is not only my portable stable but it is fast! * do not play fast, but I can do most things with very little lag.

    * Large notebook * Toshiba Vista is more about it... Would have liked an option but the laptop with XP not Vista...

Thanks for these useful information about you experience.
I can confirm this too. The Vista operating system needs a lot of material resources as first OS it is XP.
This is why all computers run slower with Vista as with XP but I think that it is nothing exceptional, due to the fact that Vista supports new features such as Aero, new photo and video files, Direct10X, etc.

  • Compatibility memory with Satellite U300-11V

    Will be 2x2gb DDR2 PC2-6400 800 mhz SO-DIMM nergjivani my Satellite U300-11V?

    Hello

According to this site, you can use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM barrettes.
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=31981&ft=m&St=3

As far as I know there is only one difference between the PC2-5300 and module PC2-6400.
    Support of the PC2 - 5300 667 MHz and 800 Mhz PC2-6400.
The U300 comes with 667 Mhz modules. If a module supports 667 Mhz and 800 Mhz on media other then the two modules will run at 667 Mhz.
So if you want to use modules with full speed 800 mhz, then both modules must be 800 mhz.

by the way; as I m not wrong supports FSB 800 mhz too

  • Continual loss of wireless connection with Satellite C660

    Hello

I hope that someone out there might be able to help.

I've had my Satellite C660 for about 18 months now. Since the first day we had continual problems connecting to the wireless network. It connects but then lost the connection again a few minutes later, and then after a few more minutes, he reconnects. And the circle continues. An Ethernet cable didn't improve things.

Initially, the problem is solved by leaving the laptop computer charger plugged, randomly that solved the problem and that is not ideal, I went with it because it worked.

We have new broadband services and the router installed and the problem came back now, but this time the fix of power cable does not work, and once again an Ethernet cable does not work.

The laptop is now continues to lose the connection, and it's very frustrating. I have 2 other laptops from Dell, 2 tablets, and they all work very well, never losing connection.

Can someone give me it please advice on what could cause this problem and how to fix it (easily!).

I can't wait to hear your thoughts and thank you in advance for your help.

    Glenn

    > Initially solved the problem by letting the laptop computer charger plugged, randomly that solved the problem and that is not ideal, I went with it because it worked.

I think WiFi disconnects due to energy savings.
As you say, linking the main specifications address the issue. I think because of the connection of the AC adapter, the laptop switches to another profile of power where Wlan energy saving is disabled.

Therefore, I recommend to change the power profile that is used in battery mode.
-> Panel-> power option choose the power profile that you use in battery mode
Now, select advanced to change power settings
You will find an option called settings of the adapter wireless (or something like that)
The mode option of battery and AC adapter must use the performance parameters

  • Problem with wireless connection with Satellite U500

    Hello
Three months ago, I bought a Toshiba laptop Satellite U-500 (Windows Vista). I have a problem with the wireless connection - sometimes, it does not work and I have to restart pressing F8 and repair, then the connection is re-established; If I put into hibernation the connection is intact, but after a stop the problem maybe redo surface after the 2nd or 3rd session.

I tried to format it, but it worked only for a while. The 2nd item in network adapters in the device (Realtek RTL8192E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC) Manager shows a yellow exclamation point. The message is this:
"This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)
Click on 'Search for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. »

Could you please help. I have sky broadband and am currently connected via the ethernet cable.

  • Sharing internet connection with satellite receiver

Hi, I have Windows 7 and I go on vacation. I intend to get a wifi dongle and take my satellite receiver with me that requires internet access via its ethernet connection. Is there a way I can connect the RJ45 cable to my laptop and share the internet to the area of Sam? I discovered how do with two computers, but this seems different because I don't have the same options in the Sat receiver to set up. Only basic network settings. Thank you

  • Do not have "Toshiba HDD Recovery" on Satellite U300-151 with Vista

I have problem with Vista - it became too slow so I want to get back to factory settings.

I went through the process described in [http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm] and then, instead of "Toshiba HDD recovery" as a last option-, I have 'Restore the full Windows operating system' which is the last one after 'comand prompt. When I click on that I get another box with warning by saying "when you reinstall windows OS reformats the hard drive and all data will be lost" and "If the preinstalled files are damaged you can use the product recovery disc (which I don't have)" and there are no other or any button except OK which I click and it just brings back me to the list "System Recovery Option"...

I have Toshiba recovery disc creator no - it was not pre-installed when I bought computer - even if I had all the other software from toshiba.

And I know that I can buy the recovery disk, but I don't think that pay 30 dollars for something that I should have had with the computer: and my computer is still under warranty.

Delivered using the recovery media, you will be able to install Vista.
Recovery image contains all of the drivers, tools and utilities, and after the installation of clean operating system, you should not install some additional software.

    Bye and good luck!
