  Thank you for your guide. D is a partition on my laptop. It was lost when I ran error checking. I also checked the box for fixing bad sectors. Then suddenly, it stopped working and my drive was gone.
  Anyway the problem solved when I turned off and turned on my laptop.

  ·        What is the exact error message that you receive when you connect theprolific USB-serial connector to your computer?

  ·         Could you plug the connector on the computer as soon as possible without any problem?

  ·         What is the model number of the connector?

  ·         The ups and the computer manufacturer and what is the model number?

  ·         Who is the stand-alone Windows Installer you tried to install?

  In my view BIOS update will not change.
  I assume that the reader has worked in the past with the same BIOS version
  It is a drive hardware problem or some registry keys are corrupt.

  I think that it s a hardware malfunction may be a matter of lenses.
  But try this;
  Remove the drive from Device Manager and shut the laptop computer. After restarting again the operating system should recognize the drive again. Then you can check the functionality.

  Otherwise, you can remove the disk from the laptop, and then start the laptop without the drive. Then stop the laptop, put the drive in the notebook and start over.
  The firmware should again loads.

  But if these procedures help t, I don t see it differently as for replace the drive

  I understand that the software was not automatically installing for the HP Photosmart C7280. I'll try my best to help you with this problem. The software and drivers are not previously installed on the laptop.

  Here is the download page for software HP Photosmart full feature and drivers, download and save to your desktop.  Follow the steps described in this document for the installation of the printer software in Windows 7 for a USB cable connection. Make sure you unplug the USB cable from the computer and wait that you asked before you plug it into the computer.

  Have you checked the Device Manager and the properties of USB port?
  Check if you can find the energy saving option and disable it.

  Please try to connect the HARD drive on all USB ports. Perhaps, we have a failure.

• All USB (2 & 3) drives does not connect. Tones play when I insert a USB key. Troubleshooting of Ran unsuccessfully.

  This happened after I installed a new Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500 in the computer. Also to install a PCI Express SATA III card to use with the SSD drive.  I removed the card and plugged into a slot of motherboard SATA II. The same problem.  The ideas people?

  I received NO response to my problem, I solved it by using the forum on the website of the manufacturer (HP.com).  They stayed on with me for more than an hour and we ended up having to reinstall the operating system that supports the problem.  This is the LEAST desirable option but the only one that worked.
