Proofing for Blurb

How to configure LR 6 to soft proof images going to the book Blurb module?

You can download the profile ICC of Blurb here:

Color management & calibration Center. Correspondence of colors on the screen. Blurb books

Follow the instructions below to install the ICC of Blurb profile:

Blurb offers several types of paper, but the only printer profile so the benefits of its use are questionable:

Re: B & W advice book module Blurb

Also the book LR module converts the sRGB images in the PDF file uploaded to Blurb. This can cause range extra cutting since the Blurb profile has a range that is located outside of the sRGB color space:

Re: sRGB or better Blurb icc profile for proofing before book module?

In my experience of the Blurb printing process can cause a slight loss of saturation in blue color deep. Whether or not you can improve it by creating, and "setting" soft proof copies is debatable. My results were pretty good without proofing. Best advice is to use a good calibrator monitor for 100-120 cd/m2, 6500K White Point, 2.2. Gamma, type of ICC Version 2 profile. What has more impact on the output printed Blurb book results that adjustments of proof flexible. YMMV...

I added the Blurb_ICC_Profile.icc to the library/ColorSync/Profiles and library/ColorSync/Profiles/recommended, but when I turn on the test in Lightroom and try to choose the Blurb_ICC_Profile.icc in the drop-down list of profile in the soft audit work space on the right, by clicking on the other to add it, it simply does not as an element in the list even if I've added to the profiles folder.

Blurb profile appears as an option for proofing so I try to do it in Photoshop, but I really want to do in Lightroom to save time because I'm using the book Module and I know much better than Photoshop Lightroom.

I was contacted to validate my academic status for Creative Cloud student and Teacher Edition I bought via adobe.com on May 14, 2014. The education FAQ page (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing /education - faq.html) States:

  • How can I color proof for RGB565

    Hello

I'm working on a large number of images from a target of Android.  The target uses the RGB565 format.  Is it possible to configure the proofing color on Photoshop (and illustrator would be good) to display with the color range of RGB565.  I have not been able to develop it and resorted to save the image as a BMP in RGB565 format then load back in search for atrifacts and banding etc.

    Thank you

Just to clarify this: Soft Proofing is not possible, because RGB565 is not a color space

but simply the code format bit R 5, 6 G of type bit, 5-bit B.

The question is probably, how to get a reasonable overview of the quantification

    effects (strips, as shown).

    Image > adjustment > Posterize

    with 32 levels (2 ^ 5 = 32) creates an overview for RGB555, which can be considered

a kind of worst test for RGB565.

But if the real RGB888--> RGB565 conversion is performed with dithering, then the

test as above is no longer relevant.

  • I've got LR 5.7 and I installed (Windows 7/64) profile of color ICC Blurb but I cannot use it to create a copy for proofing. How can I do?

I've got LR 5.7 and I installed (Windows 7/64) profile of color ICC Blurb but I cannot use it to create a copy for proofing. How can I do?

Blurb profile is CMYK, and so does not test in Lightroom. Having said that, really, you don't want to use their profile for nothing because they use a lot of different printers and that a profile will probably not represent the printer that is actually used, so it is useless and could lead you to the wrong path. Expect variability in reproduction of the color of their share even if you send the same task twice. Nothing you can do to control that unfortunately. Wobertc advice is spot on. Don't worry if you ship it directly from LR. Use sRGB if you export images to use in another page layout program. Forget proofing for this service.

  • How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

After reading dozens of forum, I not yet found the answer.

I made a photo album with full-colur and b & w photos for Offset print. I want to be for the b & w grayscale avoid the hues of colors possible. It seems that InDesign does not support the shades of gray, how images become dark. Even with export without any conversion of color or the destination and/or including profiles of original colors, the images are exported to obscurity as a PDF to grayscale.

How can I export to PDF for printing Offset, including colors and grayscale of the photo?

Yes, Photoshop & ID CMYK working spaces are the same

This can become difficult because 3 programs manage proofing differently.

Work spaces don't matter, document profiles that handle the preview. So here's the same image in grayscale, placed in the ID on the top and PS on the bottom. I put my info in Photoshop to display the profile of doc in the lower left corner. I can see the profile of my InDesign CMYK Document in my test format (CMYK work is different and is not used). The two profiles are actually the same coated FOGRA39 (Black Ink FOGRA in the case of the PS).

But the previews do not match because I disabled, so the preview InDesign is Gamma 2.2 or a "screen" media preview overprinting.

If I turn on overprint preview, I get a match because I'm soft proofing for printing:

  • color for web and print profiles

    Hello

I'm editing photos from my digital SLR. They were shot as jpg in Adobe RGB. I'm editing photos for both web and print right now and I was wondering if there is a way to do so that I would be able to change for both at the same time in the process of Photoshop.

Here are the details for what I usually do:

For printing, I would work in AdobeRGB photos while the check option has the working CMYK value (usually SWOP, depending on which printer I use). Then I would flatten the work, resize and sharpen and change the color to CMYK mode, save as TIFF.

For the web, I used to edit while RGB color settings are defined in sRGB IEC61966 - 2.1 and verification is set to RGB monitor. I flattened, resize and sharpen and save for Web.

Is it possible that I can edit a single photo (shot in Adobe RGB) so that they can be used for BOTH print and web? I know CMYK or RGB would mean they would end in search of different end, but is be possible that I can have a single Photoshop file for the photo and go through the steps needed to make it ready for printing and for the web... or because of the color profiles and linguistic verification options , there is nothing I can do but to edit each photo twice?

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help.

First of all I suggest you just started shooting RAW not Jpeg.

then personally I work in AdobeRGB. I place my PSD AdobeRGB in ID and the CMYK conversion is done when I do my PDF. for web work I convert to sRGB when I use save for Web. Do not use your monitor profile color proof for the web like that you have the correct monitor profile.

  • How to: Crush 3/iMac 5 k (compatibility mode)

    Hello friends,

I see quite a few new features on the market with Thunderbolt 3. According to the FAQ of TB3 Intel, TB1 and TB2 was designed with future upgrades in mind. This means that you can connect, once a solution is available, on a host of TB2 TB3 system using compatibility mode. It will only work to 20Gbps TB2, but work remains. The same is true of peripheral TB2 TB3 host computer (will work but at slower speed)

This would be similar to the connection of a USB 3 device on a USB 2 or 1 USB host but only get speeds over slow or vice versa.

The question I have is that if someone came out with these fittings/adapters? What I've seen online seems to go using a device of TB2 and TB3 host and each of these adapters is Windows only. I have spent too many hours searching so I'm curious to know if someone has yet to fall on an adapter or converter that connect DisplayPort TB2 host and have the device USB-C/TB3 (USB - C not only) in compatibility mode.

The reason? Peripheral TB3 are already less expensive than TB2 devices. I don't know who will get the most expensive. I don't care 40Gbps if he gives me a simple way to add multiple devices USB 3.0, exhibitions and maybe the eSata device. I know there are hubs, but I would prefer something that is the test of the future TB3 would be cheaper and future proof for NeXTGen computers.

(Sorry for the TL; DR but it is always a person who does not read or "assume" it is a noob question and gives an answer "Captain Obvious". Don't BE this guy here...)

My personal suggestion is enusure that there was minimum of 1 GB of video ram, so it can be future proof for HD games.

Download a utility such as SKTimeStamp on internet, you can set what timestamp you want on any file.
