Protect blackBerry Smartphones, I can't retrieve my BB numbers:

Evening everyone.

Today, all about 12 hours GMT, I wiped my Bold 9900 after that constant freezes. And I had put for. Save my contacts daily.
When I tried to restore my phone, that I saved before wiping, the 'Contacts' icon is inactive, while the rest are active. But when I clicked on 'restore', nothing happens. I tried to restore from earlier handsets just to get something at least, the same thing happens. I'm really desperate cause I hardly keep diaries. I keep all my data on memos.
IS THERE ANYWAY THAT I CAN RESTORE MY DATA.
Moreover, when I check, I find the message that says "the data is already wireless. What does that mean?
Please help me?
Thank you in advance.

Hello and welcome to the community!

This means that your device is set up to synchronize the OTA (Over The Air) with a service provider..., gmail, Outlook.com or someone else. That being the case, your 'master' of these data is not protect... it's rather, regardless this OTA service. You need to re - integrate this account on your device to refresh your device from this source of OTA.

If none of this sounds familiar to all, then refer:

And also... it's all for the situation even if the Desktop software was used to perform the backup, but the resolutions should be the same:

I hope you can get this restored... otherwise, there is no other way to get data out of BB Protect... only through the function protect restore on a BB device can that data be used for anything at all. Of course, that's why I always recommend that Protect serve as part of a good practice to backup, but should never be invoked as unique. Our data is simply too precious, and so it is up to each of us to adequately protect this asset by using the different tools that provides a BB.

Good luck!

Hello and welcome to the community!

Of what you say, I read that you had BES enabled on your BB, you have separated from the company/what BES now, but your BB was not properly cleaned of it's political, that continues to limit the things. To remedy this, you perform a specific wiping of your BB as follows:

    1. First of all, review the link of my auto-sig about backups... this process will completely clean your BB and you have to start over.
    2. Once ready, follow this KB to clean your BB of the it policy:
      • KB31291 How to reset a BlackBerry smartphone to factory using BlackBerry Desktop Software Settings
    3. When / if you restore, DO NOT do a full restore, restore only those databases that are essential, especially to avoid those who have something to do with the company, BES, political, etc.. If you fail at this stage and all restore, you simply put it on your BB policy and be right where you started.

    Good luck!

Assure us that first that no other application is using the file.

Start your Blackberry in safe mode.

Use the option of the Explorer in the main menu of the media to locate and delete the file.

(Procedures with pictures are listed below).

When you are finished with the file, and then restart (battery pull) your device in normal mode.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is virtually no diagnosis of those - they are the equivalent of random errors in Windows for which trace the root cause is futile. Basically, here's the last out in the programming code - some event occurred for which there is no event handler in the code. The patch is an update of the code that handles the event... but, again, what is the event is almost impossible. So, there are a few things to try:

Sometimes, the code simply is damaged and needs to be updated - just like a reboot:

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

If it doesn't boot properly, then you need to try Safe Mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode

There may be a code updated to the value of the carrier - check out them through this Portal:

The toughest possible causes are a bad application behave. To find it, there are two options. Is to see if you can read the log file:

Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type "lglg". (You won't see anything as you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably a lot of pages) until you see a line that says "eception execption. Click on this line. The application name will be in the info. Alternative methods to implement the newspapers are in this KB:

    • KB05349 How to activate, view, and extract the the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone

The other method is to remove the apps one at a time, wait a while between the two (I usually recommend a week), until the problem stops... revealing the offending application. Yet another method is to recharge the BB OS itself, leaving little time between the addition of other applications on the BB in order to be able to determine exactly what is the cause.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how can I get the bolt thunder wallpaper shown in BlackBerry101 for the storm?

My Verizon Blackberry 9530 shows the wallpaper loaded by Verizon (a big check) but I want to replace it with the image of a stormy sky and lightning shown in the tutorial 101 for BlackBerry storm.  Can someone please send me this image file or a link to it?

You can find the photo of lightning on the internet and import it into the memory card in your device. When you sign in you BB on your computer, you should be able to see it as another drive (if you have set up in Mass Storage. Otherwise go to options, memory and select 'Yes' to support mass storage).

I found the photo here http://www.blackberrystormwallpaper.com/nature-wallpaper/lightning-storm/.

Once you have imported the image into the memory of your device, disconnect the device from your computer. Go to 'Media', click on images and find the photo. Select it (without clicking), click on the BB button and click on "set as home screen Image".
