protected PDF

I currently attend the University of Phoenix and I can't open their protected pdf ebooks, I wanted to know if I was doing something wrong. I do not even have the option to type in my login and my password.

Hello

Are your University, called "protectedPDF" by Vitrium PDF documents? Currently, Adobe Reader mobile products (for iOS, Android, Windows Phone) do not support PDFs with DRM (Digital Rights Management) by third parties. You need to open your documents on the desktop for the same version.

Please let us know if this isn't the case.

Thank you.

Yes, you can implement the password on PDF files using the Acrobat application, please refer to this KB document for help https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/securing-pdfs-passwords.html.

There is absolutely nothing we can do to help you remember your password.

But I'm sure that this is not a unique situation; your bank should be able to help to recover or reset your password.

    Hi stupiddonkey,

You will need to remove the password from the file (using Acrobat, not reader) before you can convert it to Word. To do this, choose file > properties, and then click the Security tab choose no security in the context menu of the security method and enter the password when you are prompted.

The document is protected by word ("password protection"). There are two kinds of passwords with a PDF file.

    1. a password to open. This should be used to open the file. The file could have the safety limits.

    2. a password control. This is necessary to change the limits of security.

  • Password as a parameter in the URL protected .pdf

    Hi people,

When you open a protected PDF via http, it is possible to send the password as a parameter in the URL? I want to use certain protected .pdf security features, but don't want to force the user to actually type a password.

For example, in the link below, Brown-Teddy - bear.pdf is a PDF file protected by password with password "coffeecup." Is something like the following?

    " < a href =" http://www.example.com/Brown-Teddy-bear.PDF#password=CoffeeCup "> bear Brown Teddy < /a > .

This generates an error "this operation is not allowed.".

I checked the specification for 9 on the link below, but he's not here.

    Sincerely,

You do not need to set a password to open when you configure restrictions by using password security, you just need to use a Permissions password. The document that opens without the user to enter a password, Acrobat/Reader will honor the restrictions.

  • How to read that a password protected PDF on my Kindle. I have the password and I am allowed to read. This is the manual school related.

I want to read PDF on my Kindle. Read books of text on a computer, it's not what I want to do every time.

    Hi robertc75438092,

How to access a PDF protected on a Kindle

The major advantage for PDF files, is that you can distribute documents to a wide variety of platforms, including the Amazon Kindle. While the Kindle opens most PDF files without any difficulty, you can run in trouble if the PDF file has password protection applied. The Kindle will open PDFs protected by password, but not if the PDF file has digital rights management applied. Most of the models of Kindle cannot open DRM encrypted PDF files, but you can download an app, qPDF, to Kindle fire which allows you to open PDFs encoded with DRM.

No - DRM Protection password: -.

    Step1 highlight the PDF file.

Step 2 press the 5-way control to open the PDF file. If your Kindle is a touch screen, tap the PDF file to open it. This will open a dialog box that asks you the password.

    Step 3 type the password.

Step 4 Select the 'OK' button and press the control button 5. Press the 'OK' button on the touchscreen models.

Coded DRM of PDFs on the Kindle Fire: -.

Step 1: click the "Apps" tab from the home page to open the applications menu.

Step 2, click on the "Store" link in the upper right corner of the page to access the Kindle app store.

Step 3 Type qPDF Viewer in the field "search".

Step 4 press the "Free" button next to the qPDF online Viewer. The 'Free' button will change to "install".

Step 5 press the button "install". The application will download and install to your Kindle Fire. When you are finished, you will see a button 'open '.

Step 6 press the 'Open' button to launch the application.

    Step 7 tap the

Step 8 press the "open" button to select a PDF file to open it.

Step 9 tap on the PDF you want to open. You will see a dialog box asking you to enter a password.

    Step 10, type the password.

Step 11 press the 'OK' button to open your PDF file.

I will recommend you to consult the Kindle support team, they will help you with the details.

    Kind regards

  • Commenting in a protected pdf file does not work on iPad but on PC

    Hello

I am just placing comments in a pdf document, document which is protected.

Only extraction and modification of the composition are disabled.

If I use my PC with Adobe Reader, everything works as expected.

Only with Acrobat DC on my iPad, Annotations do not work.

How can I change this behavior?

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

    P.S. the iOS 8.3

    Adobe Acrobat DC 15.0.3

Security tab ob that is attached to my pdf file (sorry, only in German)protection.JPG

    Hi Chris,

When various restrictions of document are applied to a PDF document, the PDF document will be encrypted/protected.

Mobile products Acrobat DC (for iOS and Android) have the known limit where the changes cannot be saved in encrypted PDF documents.  As a result, users are not able to make changes (addition of comments/annotations or forms) for encrypted PDF documents.

As you already know, there is no such limitation in the desktop version of Adobe Reader or Acrobat.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.
