proxy

I want a new 5535.  I'm on OS 10.9.4.  I connect to the internet through an airport.  There is no proxy address. The printer prints very well.  However, he says that he needs an update and cannot connect to the web without a proxy address.  ?????  I had my last HP in the Trash because there was no other update support for scanning.  I need to be able to connect.

Hi @mainiac

I'd love to help you connect your printer to Web Services. Please follow the following steps;

(1) Please enter the ip address of the printer in the address bar of your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, or Safari, etc.). My screenshots below come from Safari, but the location of everything is the same regardless of the browser.  This will bring up the printer's built-in web server.

(2) please click on the network tab.  You should see the summary of network for your printer. Please click on 'Network' in the menu on the left side.

(3) please click on ' network (IP) address "in the menu on the left side.

(4) if it you please on the radial button next to "Manuel IP" then click on the button 'Suggest a manual IP Address'. The manual, manual IP address subnet mask and default gateway of manual must complete for you.  Please click the radial button next to 'Manual DNS Server'.  For the preferred DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server Manual, please enter 8.8.4.4.

(5) please click on 'apply '.  If you get a warning message about changing the ip address please click on 'OK '.

(6) Please turn off the printer by the power button on the printer.  Please wait a minimum of 15 seconds and then turn the printer back on.

(7) Please press the ePrint icon in the upper left corner of the front panel of the printer. This should encourage you to accept the terms of service.  Please choose "accept."

(8) when you are prompted on the automatic updates, please select 'yes '. The printer should now display the HP logo, while the printer communicates with the HP servers. The Web Services information sheet should print with the claim code for your printer.

-These measures come from a post of @happytohelp01 ; Thank you Happy!

Although the screenshots come from a Photosmart, you will find them to match your desires.

Please let me know if you need help!

Out of the corporate network, Siri works.

Is this a bug with Siri?  Y at - it a configuration option, I can use?  I have no control over the parameters of the corporate proxy.

  • EPIC Browser (proxy) does not work on the Sierra

I was with Epic browser (a browser works as a proxy or vpn) smoothly for the past few days in China to access Google and Facebook and a few pages that I've updated my mac OS previous to new sierra of mac OS. and sorry to say that then is no more working including proxy facilities. I can't explain how much I need in China. Can ' someone tell me why or how to fix it? He shows me just like this after I installed the OS Sierra...

    Hello firdaus, MD.
Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

If I understand your message that you are no longer able to access the web using an epic browser that works as a proxy or VPN. With the update of the Sierra of macOS, PPTP VPN have been removed. If this browser uses this type of VPN, you may want to use one of the options listed in the section below:

Prepare for removal of PPTP VPN before upgrade you to iOS 10 and macOS Sierra

    Alternatives for PPTP VPN connections

Try one of these other VPN protocols for authentication by user that are safer:

    • L2TP/IPSec
    • IKEv2/IPSec
    • Cisco IPSec
    • VPN SSL clients on the App Store, such as those of AirWatch, Aruba, Check Point, Cisco, F5 Networks, MobileIron, NetMotion, Open VPN, Palo Alto Networks, Pulse Secure and SonicWall

  • Add UltraSurf has been removed now, now stuck in proxy mode.

Hi, I have been using the Ultra surf proxy add on now in Mozilla Firefox for a while now, without questions or problems.
But this morning when I went to use Firefox (my pass to the browser), he said it had been disabled a removed from my browser, because there wasn't a certificate checked for use, witch is fair enough... But my problem is now that add it on this self when he was abducted by Firefox, was always turned to proxy in my browser mode, which means that I can't use my browser now without going through the proxy Ultra surf running in the background, as I never had the ability to disable the Add Ultra surf on itself in Firefox before it was removed... I tried to install the Ultra Surf add on so I can disable it manually myself, so I can come back with my browser normally without the active proxy but Firefox won't let me install it... So I'm now stuck in mode ultra Surf proxy with Firefox, I never had the ability to disable the adding on of the proxy mode myself before it was removed... I don't know what to do now, I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox but without success.

This is perhaps one of your modules.
Disable the bar tools or protection in the Add-ons Manager.
If that happens again, a little more clear. Restart Firefox after each change.

  • No prompt Proxy Authorization

    Mac OS X 10.10.5

    Firefox 40.0.3

I set FireFox to use a proxy (just not my entire system browser) but there is no prompt to the user and the password in the preferences: Advanced: network: connection settings. In addition, several times people make changes he made in the topic: config, but these two names preferably don't exist or that they have no effect on this issue.

Does anyone know how to get FireFox to request username/password name or where to find the login?

    Thank you, MDS

This issue has Nothing to do with password managers or filling of the form, it has to do with the connection network Advanced Preferences settings. Where FireFox allows you to use a > > > proxy < < < but does not allow to enter the name of user and password information and the proxy may actually work. This question has Nothing to do with connections to Web sites does not.

By default, you can not in Firefox.

But you can use an add-on like FoxyProxy Standard, I think he understands the functionality you need.

  • Connection settings are greyed out - cannot set the proxy.

In my role, I'm running Win 7 images from an outside source, change them to our org and create new images to our specifications. Recently, I received a new image of the provider. They forced THE 10 on the image, so the tool IEM that I previously used to define proxies no longer exists. My client needs Firefox as default browser. When I try to configure the proxy settings in the connection settings page, all items are grayed out. Topic: config watch network.proxy.type is (0) and locks. I modified prefs.js a different value, but it never works. I think there was a registry or group policy that prevents this from working. Any ideas? Thank you, in advance.

Hello, you might try to check if the settings are locked as described in this article: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences

  • remote device does not accept connections is the error that I also get what is a proxy?

There are some sites that I can't connect to Internet, I get remote device will not accept the connection and check the proxy. I don't know how to solve this problem, I don't know what is a remote device, and I don't know if I have a proxy. Please help, I work on surveys and freelancing and you need to get to my sites. I thank very you much for any help you can give me.

This just sounds like your Internet is cut, not a Firefox problem.

But I'd still Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. This might help others with the same problem.

  • sec_error_bad_signature only through proxy for https Web site

    Hello

I tried to open the website https through the proxy of the company, but it does not work.

It happened only with firefox. Chrome & IE is quite fine.

    Thanks for teaching.

I was suggesting to the certificate information link, but there is a clue that you are using Zscaler. We had a thread indicating that you can export the certificates from the Windows (via IE or Chrome) certificate store and then import them into Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/986876

I'm not sure whether that is documented in detail anywhere, but please note:

    • In the certificate Viewer, IE or Chrome, click on cert Zscaler you want to export in the Certification Path tab and use the button view the certificate to open it directly.
    • Click on the Details tab, and then click the Copy to file button. This will start the Export Wizard. Use the DER format and save to a convenient location.

When you are finished with all exports needed to complete the chain in the Certification path, you can import the certificates into the References of Firefox tab:

    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced > mini-onglet Certificates > "View certificates" button > mini-onglet References > button "import".
    • I suggest allowing the certificate for Web only, unless your IT suggests otherwise
