• Lighting effects darken Clips?

  I want to animate an Omni light using Adode first for interesting effects lighting effects. I want to animate the intensity from 0 to max in a few seconds, but when I add a keyframe to 0, the rest of the clip is darker than the original source footage, if that makes sense.

  I'm pretty new, so thanks for any help

  I fixed it, for anyone else who has this problem, go to the 2 light and change in directional and adjust the intensity accordingly.

• What happened to the function of the PSE 8 lighting effects

  I've recently switched to PSE PSE 8 13.  I find all the same features of the old software except one: there seems to be no option of lighting in PSE 13 effects as there was in PSE 8.  I mean the function that allows you to illuminate or darken portions of image by adjusting the location of a light source illuminates the image.  I think that option was referred to as "Lighting" PSE 8 and has been found, I believe, under the 'render' (or perhaps under 'style') option under "filters".

  This feature is no longer available in PSE 13, or is it last?

  I am trying to use lighting effects and experiences a problem.

  I used on a visible layer of timbre and used it to simply add a little extra light to the image. It was working perfectly, but I had to remove it in order to sort something else out there. When I tried to create the same effect he added is lighter to the existing image, it became the only light and blacked out the rest of the image and became more like an incredibly strong, instead of adding just a bit of light vignette. When I click on FILTER > RENDER > LIGHTING, the lighting effects button is grayed. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  Please make sure that you work in 8 bits/channel and RGB mode. (Under Image > Mode > Select RGB and 8-bit per channel) lightning effects only works in this mode.

  Also in preferences > Performance > "Use Graphics Processor" must be checked.

  I managed to solve the problem.

  Lighting effects will only work if the file is in 8-bit format and will not work in 16-bit format which is what I tried to do.

  Hi Ryan,

  Lightning effect using the GPU.  Check that it is enabled in preferences > performance and if so, click on the Advanced button and try a drawing of basic or Normal Mode. Restart Photoshop.

  Additionally, make sure that the graphics card drivers should be up to date.

  Photoshop lighting effect filter does not work. A new layer called just the effects of light appears, why?

  Under help > system info, copy and paste the first two lines identifying the exact version of your OS and Photoshop.

  Solved. It seems that all the open files in onOne 9 pick up something that prevents the rendering of light effects. Export into Tif, tiff opened and made that solves this problem.
