PS keeps items 13 asking same update, again and again and again...

Recently, I moved all my data including PS 13 elements to a new iMac. I used PSE 13 several times since then, but this morning, he asked an update to install. I let it install. But as soon as it was installed, he asked again. And once again. And once again. I can no longer use the app because it just keeps asking for an update. But once that is done, ask again. I tried all PSE 13 remove it from my computer and reinstall. But as soon as I had reinstalled it, he asked her the same update again and continued with the same process. So, right now, the app is useless. If uninstall and re - download and reinstall doesn't work, then what?

    Hi jjackbcop,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with windows updates offer several times over and over again.

    Method 1:

I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow these steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup of the link report section to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfig and click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

    Method 2:

I suggest you send the link and check (this also applies to windows XP).

  • Install security updates "successfully", but then my computer downloads and installs the same updates again

Original title: at Microsoft course to resolve this ONGOING problem, & VERY BORING PROBLEM with his Windows security updates?

    Morning everyone,

There was considerable number of complaints about the failure of Microsoft to solve the problem with its updates of Windows, including updates security for XP, Office 2003, the removal tool malicious and the infamous KB2538242!  I saw these varied complaints not just here, but on some other sites as well forum.

In the evening of Tuesday, July 12, 2011, I once more has received notification of Update icon in my taskbar and clicked on it to start the updates.  According to the list, there were 5 so-called updates downloaded & installed... as shown below: (my auto-mises update is updated every day at 01:00):

KB2555917 (a security update for XP)

    KB2538242

    KB2493523 (a security update for Office 2003)

KB890830 (updated Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool)

KB2507938 (a security update for XP)

SUPPOSEDLY... .these updates have been installed.  But, just as happened previously, Microsoft Update icon still reappears in my taskbar within 20 minutes the so-called updates being completed!  Yet once, I went through this cycle of "download & installation" these supposed updates 4 different times before visiting the account that Microsoft has NOT YET SOLVED THIS CURRENT QUESTION! There is absolutely NO help is available, whether of Microsoft at all... except if you're loaded with money to spend on paying them to offer some apology for the problem.  Here ARE the UPDATES security AND in accordance with the PROTOCOLS of MICROSOFT, MICROSOFT IS supposed TO BE PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE QUESTIONS OF THIS TYPE!

When the problem instead of turning its back on its customers with the blade go Microsoft to wake up and solve this problem continues is to excuse this "oh, there is no support available for these security update issues... unless you are willing to PAY SOME COSTS FOR the SERVICE?  (It was the response I got from one of the support staff for the customer to Microsoft by phone, said by the way!)

You VERY DEFINITELY have an ongoing responsibility to your Microsoft customers.   What you do to solve this maddening, growing problem, and how a Win XP SP3 client can get any help?

Welcome & thank you for your comments.

Please keep us informed of any progress you make, Pete.

  • Get the same update again and again

Automatic update is enabled. However, update KB2633171 I had to update maually. This update will not disappear after that he told me to UPDATE CORRECTLY INSTALLED. It shows (several times now) in the history of the SUCCESSFUL update. However, when I go to the window, UNINSTALL AN UPDATE, it says NO updates update ARE INSTALLED on THIS COMPUTER. Other updates are automatically installed without problem. Can someone please solve my problem?

Ah, but have you tried the things mentioned in the article, such as.

Determine whether the update has been installed

To determine if the update has been installed, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Examine the history of installation

To view the history of installation, follow these steps:

    1. Click Start, point to all programs, and then click Windows Update or Microsoft Update.
    2. On the Web site, click view update history.
    3. Find the latest entry for the specific update.
    4. Note the color of the icon in the status column. If the icon is green, the update has been installed. If the icon is red, the update is not installed.

or if the update has not been installed may

Install the update in Mode without failure. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Download the update. To do this, follow these steps:

      1. Visit the Microsoft Download Web site:

        http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads)
      2. In the search for a download box, type the article number of the Knowledge Base that describes the update, and then click OK.
      3. Download the update, and then save it on the desktop.
    2. Install the update. To do this, follow these steps:
      1. Double-click the downloaded file to install it.

If you are prompted to restart the computer, do so.

      2. Visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web site to check if the update is offered again. If you are offered the update again, proceed to the next step.
    3. Install the update in Mode without failure. Safe mode disables most of the processes and services running. These services include the Windows Update service. Installation of an update in Mode safe is a quick test to check if an application or process interferes with the installation. To install mode safe mode, follow these steps:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. The computer starts, press the F8 key.
      3. Use the arrows to select Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
      4. Double-click the file that you downloaded in step 1 to install the file.
      5. Once the installation is complete, restart the computer.
      6. Visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web site to check if the update is offered. Otherwise, wait until automatic updates runs again.
