PSC 750xi: error incorrect black cartridge PSC 750

Printing was getting low so I had Costco refill the black ink cartridge, as they have done before. Installed the cartridge and the printer says it's incorrect cartridge. It's already happened then I do unplug it the power and hold the power button while plugging the power... no dice. Purchased a new HP cartridge and still getting the same message. Also get incorrect color cartridge. I have not touched (cartridge HP) the print carriage is now the lurchs every few seconds. I turned off the printer to avoid noise.

Must have an installed for this model to run color cartridge.

Thanks for providing this information @north991.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.
Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector.
This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

  • HP 750 error inccorect black cartridge installed

I have the hp PSC 750 and I just had black ink, filled again today and when I installed it it says I have the wrong cartridge in and it is the first time that this happens since I've owned.

HI - first of all, whenever you fill the cartridges, you run the risk of something like what is happening.  I highly recommend the use of genuine HP cartridges.  That said, try the procedure described in this document, specifically to clean the contacts on both the cartridge and transport.

    Hope that helps.

No, it would not be bound to the use of quick printing of project quality. I suggest you replace the cartridge with a new one to see if you still have the same problem. Let me know what you find?

  • Align the PSC 750 printer ink cartridge error message.

I just replaced only the black cartridge in my printer PSC 750.  (Will replace the color cartridge later as my money allows.) The printer is connected to my laptop, MacBookPro, under OS X, version 10.6 operating system.  After replacing the cartridge, I ran a self-evaluation report.  It seemed to run correctly.  No color cartridge only test model because there is no ink in the cartridge.  Then I ran the process to align the print cartridge which gives an error on the printer.  It displays "error: Align page not detected" when I clearly placed the page alignment on the scanner glass.  Tried this process several times and each time I get this error message.

Could it happen because I have not yet replaced the color cartridge?  If not, then what?

Alignment requires the black and cyan (or was it yellow on this model?) part of the color cartridge to print for correct alignment.  If you have an old copy of the alignment page you can use it, although the alignment would be suboptimal.

Soak the printhead of the cartridge 78 in 1 "hot water for ten minutes and then gently the printhead from drying and put it back in the printer may allow enough ink complete the alignment page.

  • How do I change computer to use only the black cartridge for print on PSC 950 h

I'm having a problem with my hp psc 950 printer - when I try to copy something it gives me an error to support code on enter to align cartridges-i do this and it is not always copy - how can I change the printer to use only black ink, the color cartridge is probably more good, I just changed black ink and I really don't need the color in my copies - all solutions would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you

    Hi yalulu,

I understand that you do not use the black cartridge only. I find the features page and the manual for the PSC 950 but did not find that I was looking for. I would suggest trying to use the printer in mode single cartridge, but I am not sure if the printer supports this feature, that's what I was looking for.

Try out both cartridges, then put in black only. If this does not work, the only other suggestion I have is to replace the color cartridge.

You can use the below document to troubleshoot color cartridge, select the document that best describes the issue, or take a look at the same time. You can find these useful.

I hope this helps to solve the problem you are experiencing.

Hello. Since the hard reset is not; I would try a new cartridge at this point. The hard reset is one of the most powerful tools when it comes to correcting hardware related problems and error messages.

  • Firefox will not print on my HP PSC 750 printer and loses all formatting when you try to print to the printer Brother HL-5240

I have no problem with one of my printers when printing 11.7 before or IE 6.0.2800.1106 but cannot print from Firefox 3.6.13 (or earlier).
When you try to print to the HP PSC 750 inkjet printer, a "Print" dialog box appears, showing the title: xyz and a progress meter showing 100%, but it's be covered almost immediately by a second dialog box stating "an unknown error has occurred while printing" and, even if the continuous printer saying 'impression', no printing is taking place.

When you try to print to the Brother HL-5240 laser printer, printing will take place, but all formatting is lost and what comes out is a block of text unintelligible running.

What can / should I do to get Firefox to print correctly on my two printers?

    1. print.print_printer reappears after printing something. This pref is the last printer used, so when you reset the prefs it does not appear until you print something.

    2. that your problem with printer HP reappeared quickly, try a new profile.

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows

    3. with regard to the preferences for the old printers, if reset you these Pref they don't come back (assuming that you do not select accidentally printers or printer drivers are uninstalled).

  • PSC 750: elimination of printing, destroy the hard drive

I have an old HP PSC 750 printer I have is going to be recycling and want to destroy the hard drive for security reasons.  Where is the hard drive and how I will destroy?

    Hello @Dotsie99, greetings!

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, other users, HP experts and other support staff.

I appreciate that you try to throw your old printer and worries about the security of the data.

You don't need to worry about your printer HP PSC 750 with no any hard drive. None of the PSC series and none of the Photosmart printers that use two or more cartridges have a hard drive.

The printer does not store the printed pages. So please go ahead and have the printer.

Hope that answers your questions and have a nice day!

  • HP PSC 750

I have a HP PSC 750 that I recently connected to an Acer Ultrabook Windows 8 running.  He often ends the print job with an error that the printer could not print.   When I run the troubleshooter in Windows, it tells me that the PSC 750 is an older USB device and some USB 2.0 devices are not compatible with USB 3.0.  I was not able to confirm this conclusion throughout my research, but nor have I been able to find a workaround.  Any help, or is the only way to throw a printer perfectly well?

    Hi hartjc,

I understand that you have a PSC 750 and an Acer PC with USB 3.0 ports that don't work not with the printer. I'll do my best to explain why this is happening.

Looking in your printer, I think your convenience store Windows is just. This printer was released in 2001, then that technology it would have a hard time to work with the new USB 3.0 technology. If the computer is not a USB 2.0 port, it may be time to focus on the upgrade of the printer. You can inquire about trade and commerce program through the HP Technical Support if you are interested to see what they have to offer you at the moment.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

  • Install a HP psc 750 on a new system of windows 8.1

I just picked up a new HP all in a Pavilion 23 inch pc.  I have an old PSC 750 all in one HP printer.  I went to the site of microsoft web and verified to the Compatibility Center for this printer.  It says compatible - no action required.  However, I don't know what that means in terms of installation.  I just plug the old pc to a usb port and it works because microsoft already has a driver in the operating system?   Or what I need to load the original disc supplied with the printer to install the software?  It is hard to believe that all that is on the original CD 9 years ago will work with the new OS 8.1.  Even the last years all in one HP officejet 4630e printer requires a download before you try to install from the HP website.

    Hello

No more assistance for her since the age of Vista or at least 7 years ago:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=2093 & LC = on & CC = in the & DLC = in & sw_lang = & Product = 57769 #n177

In terms of compatible, MS wrote that no action required, which means supplies MS one driver compatible (basis printring) in the operating system (Windows 8.1). You're right, many printer CD is born before Windows 8 and 8.1 so they know nothing about Windows 8 is down to the track. Who knows what is next to Windows or Windows 201 9! *

    Kind regards.
