PSD, zip compressed folder file

I have a file which is a psd file in a compressed folder. Whenever I try to open it in photoshop cc that it says could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document. I have no idea how to solve this problem. It's all files I try opening in pscc.

Right click on the compressed folder that contains the zipped Psd and select Extract here

You should see the file extracted to the same location.

You have lost the ability to create a new "folder".  You have installed chrome? It's looking like a recent update of chromium may be the cause. Here are two patches.

Involuntarily, I changed the setting to opening a compressed folder (zip), and now all of my compressed folders display the logo of the program windows Word. I'm trying to undo that and not any program used to open a compressed file. I want to have all other files compressed in the computer returns to its initial position, too, as they have all changed. • How can zip compressed file - I add a password?

In Windows XP, it was possible to send a file to the compressed folder, and then in the folder go to file, add password and password protect. In Windows 7, the option to add password is no longer available, how a password can be added in the zip file?

The ability to natively password - protect a zipped file was removed from Vista and Windows 7. Don't ask me why; I have no idea. If you want to protect a zipped file, you will need to get third-party compression software that supports this. WinZip can do but is commercial. Possibly 7Zip can do and this program is free. N ° in general all utilities file compression give the same result, the compression ratio you get depends on compressible how files are. Photos and videos are often as tablet as they can get, and because programs are made mainly of random data which don't compress well, they compress much further.

Strange - this is a ZIP file, it should work, but if the "compressed folder" has been "zipped" with a different program, compression algorithms may have a problem.

Technical mumbo-jumbo side, download the trial version of WinZip ( http://WinZip.com ) or WinRAR (http://rarlab.com ) and see if you can extract the files in the folder zipped.

  • Only able to compress the file 14 KB, why?

I want to compress a Word Document using Windows Vista Zip and compress file folder of 34 MB to 22 MB, but I have only 14 KB of memory of zip. What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

There is no option to customize the size of the zip file in Windows Vista. To compress the file to the size you mentioned, you will need to download a zip program to third parties using your favorite search engine.

    Important:

With the help of third-party software or a link, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third party software or link can be resolved. Using third-party software or a link is at your own risk.

  • Get the message: "You must use this file" when trying to compress the files saved on the desktop

Original title: to compress my files that I have saved on my desktop.

I get this error after I do a right-click and "send to" compress a file...

    "you must use this folder.

    So, what should I do?

    Hi thegardengrand,

This happens usually if all files in the folder or the folder is used by all programs that are running in windows.

You can check if it is used by another program, then that and close then try to zip.

    Hope this information is useful.
