PSE9 Photo Downloader freezes

I have PSE9 that I run on a quad core I-mac with 8mg of ram. At any time, I load a multimedia map and try to use photo downloader program frezzes when I try to change the place I want to save the photo to. I read a few forum threads which suggest download Camera Raw 6.6 update. I did, but when I use the installer from Adobe's Patch a window appears saying 'update is not applicable' this seems to be a question of which dates back to lectures 6 months. Does anyone know if Adobe has solved this problem?

Hi Barbara, I wanted to let you know that it seems that this solves the problem. Thank you very much for the help!

Hi all users of Macintosh bridge,

I posted this same thing on the forum Adobe: Camera Raw , but it is probably more relevant for users of the Macintosh bridge forum. It is the problem of the freeze-up of photo downloader when you click 'choose' select a folder. It occurs if you install the latest Camera Raw plugin. You can take advice from Adobe and to do a work around complex that is to put all your pictures in a preselected folder and simply do not use the button 'choose' (I personally find it ridiculous, but if you have a camera that is only supported by the latest version of ACR, you have no choice) , or you can use Time Machine to go back and find your copy of ACR 4.6.1. Once restored to its place in the Root directory: Library: Application Support: Adobe: Plug-ins folder, Photo Downloader will be restored to normal functionality. Don't bother delete the "plist" as suggested by some participants at the forum. It simply doesn't get it. I hope that Adobe will be a fix soon for users with the new cameras covered by 6.5 of ACR. Thank you.

Have you tried the version release candidate of Camera Raw 6.6 on Adobe Labs?

  • Button missing in Adobe Photo Downloader in advanced PSE9

A fix became available for advanced "dialog" in PSE 9?  My partner has just changed his laptop and now, he realizes that the PES 9 give the possibility to select the photos, because of the smaller screen.  The laptop will only display res 800.  The height of the screen is too small.  He's upset because this problem will affect all PES 9 users who get a new laptop with a small screen size, which is most of the new laptops!  It was running perfect on the old Sony Vaio... until the graphics card was cut seriously!  This problem has been resolved with PES 10 or 11?  If so, it might be useful to upgrade to one of these.  I would be grateful if someone can give me the answers. Thank you.

  • Instructions for the destination folder locked on Mac to work doesn't have a Photo Downloader

A member of the community directed me to http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/920/cpsid_92046.html "Adobe Photo Downloader is not responding after clicking Choose/Mac OS" when I posted that as I was downloading photos from a memory card in PSE9 on a Macbook that the destination folder screen is locked won't let me choose a destination folder. Out file destiination screen that I had to force to leave every time. I don't shoot raw. However, I followed step 1 in the instructions to install the RAW 6.6 or update more high. using the AdobePatchinstaller. After that I used the Patchmaster, I received the message "some updates could not be installed, update is not applicable."  To step #3, I was invited to use the Advisor, I think it is called. He ran a diagnostic and said "Creative Suite product installation Inspector has identified the issues. Inspector discovered a problem but cannot determine the cause... "Then the problem was transmitted by the system for analysis. Is there anything else I can try to be able to "unlock" my destination files during the download?

Wait, you have Lightroom and Photoshop Elements, but you choose to use the elements Organizer? Most people who have LR and PSE use LR for the lion share of the work and publisher of PSE as external editor for more detailed retouching (without taking into account the Organizer in total). I certainly wouldn't recommend using both applications to manage your files, does not synchronize two catalogs, so changes made in a fair will cause problems in the other.

Please, correct spelling when you type the path of the file. If you add or subtract 's' of anywhere, you're going to have to deal with two different routes. You probably don't want to put one of your images in any folder with "lrdata" in the name.

Editing the APDPreferences.xml file is a work-around. When, in the Photodownloader, if you click on the button choose, and then select a file, this information is saved to the location of this file tag. My editing this file by hand, you are pre-empting the button choose, you enter the information in a different way. In this way, once started you the Photodownloader you don't have to click on the button choose, because it will continue to freeze. These steps do not stop the gel does not happen.

In addition, you have ignored the solution number 2 of the knowledge base document, which is much easier to use than the solution number 3.

Ultimately, however, I would definitely use Lightroom to import all your images from your camera.

  • Since upgrading to Mac OSX El Capitan bridge recongises more my Nikon D7100.  The D7100 only supports PTP.  Is it possible that I can use my D7100 with bridge Photo Downloader?

Since the upgrade to OSX El Capitan when I connect my D7100 to the iMac, Apple Photos load by default while I used bridge Photo Downloader as my default application.  I can not turn off the Photos and I can't do the bridge to recognize my D7100.  According to the Nikon site the D7100 does not support only PTP and MSC.  Anyone have any ideas?  Thank you in advance.

  • Photo Downloader Adobe Bridge recognizing only no camera after upgrading to El captain in Mac

Recently, I upgraded my Macbook Pro to El captain, since then my Adobe Bridge Photo downloader no longer recognizes my cards or camera. It is not the USB cable as iPhoto wants to quickly download photos I want to use. Anyone have any idea if it is a small problem with the new OS or would be - something else and if the former there is a fix for it soon?

Discovered Adobe Bridge CC with Mac OS 10.11 (El Capitan) does not work with many USB devices to import images (including iPhone).

Apple said: "the USB stack is completely redesigned to improve stability and performance compared to Mac OS 10.10. Applications and third-party drivers for vendor-specific USB devices may require modification. "This is something APPLE has changed, that I hope that Adobe can answer, because now there is no real solution. I use this work around:

    • Import images with Photos Apple app

      • Choose file > export > export Original unmodified
    • Save the files where you want
    • Batch rename the images and add metadata in Adobe Bridge

Adobe has released this technical note on the bridge issue help: https://helpx.adobe.com/bridge/kb/bridge-and-el-capitan.html

It is a solution for some devices based on Android, you can change the mode of the PTP/MTP device in storage mode USB mode/mass (see the instructions on how to do this with your device provider). This article about the same problem with Photoshop Elements was given instructions: connected - https://helpx.adobe.com/elements-organizer/kb/elements-organizer-does-not-recognize-some-d mac-os-10 - 1.html

Go to Edition > Camera raw preferences and see what version of camera raw, you're running?

Also is you can open these pictures in Photoshop CC (if installed)?

You can also try resetting Bridge preferences
