M70 recovery CD - disk partitioning

When updating from the laptop using the recovery CD, it gives you the ability to partition the hard drive? If this is not the case, do I have to re - install XP using a normal XP CD and then add the drivers from the CD of tools?

In addition, the recovery CD lets you choose what software you want installed or not?

Hello

Yes! There is the option that allows you to create own partitions. Check it please this subject http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2513&tstart=15

You can also install your own operating system and then install the drivers and Toshiba designed tools manually by using Tools & Utilities CD or download them from the download page of Toshiba.

There is no option which allows you to this software can be installed, but you can remove all the stuff that you don't need after the first start.

Good bye

    Hello

I have an ASUS P50IJ laptop computer with a partition for operating system for most of my things (download, photos, etc.) and a DATA partition for the system recovery. I don't have that left a lot of space in the partition of the BONE (OS partition is about 75 GB of storage and DATA partition is approximately 209GB).

I wonder just what is the purpose of the DATA partition. What is a point system stored in the recovery partition? IfI deleted data stored on this partition it would change anything on my laptop?

If it's a system restore point, I don't use system restore not much, and if I create a system restore point, I always burn it to a CD. So if I deleted the DATA partition, I still would be able to run the system restore and use an image on a CD?

I wonder just what is the purpose of the DATA partition.

-> Partition data was created by the people who set up your machine.

What is a point system stored in the recovery partition?

-> Each partition uses its own folder to store its files from system restore.

IfI deleted data stored on this partition it would change anything on my laptop?

-> What data did you remove?

If it's a system restore point...

->, You cannot move the system restore points. Windows will not let you.

If I create a system restore point, I always burn it to a CD.

-> Exactly how do you do that? You may be thinking of the Image system data?

If it was my machine I would select one of the following methods:

    • Use the native Disk Manager or third-party disk manager to resize my partitions.
    • Use a single script to move my libraries (for example, My Documents, my music, etc.) for the data partition.
  • HP Pavilion DV8el Entertainment recovery and disk partitioning C

Someone must have done this before, but I can't find anything...

I had to replace the C drive of bad sectors, and now the recovery disks that I had done three years ago crash with a blue screen on the partitioning of the disk.

Nothing can be installed via that * beep * discs (i.e. of the news because I've never used it before!)

I get clean up a ghost image of the entire disk C (it has been corrupted), the partition partition, so I really want to use it to recover my configurations and software. But I don't know how to do this without going through the ununseable recovery disks.

The problem seems to be that Ghost is looking for the four original scores and since he can't find them he does not know where to install the data C... Can I manually partition C? I have a Mint 13 Linux system on a bootable USB, so I can ride and the C format, I just need to know HOW (HIDDEN FAT32, NTFS,...) and what size/flags to give partitions...

I hope someone can help! Thanks 1million, Gabriele

I understand that you need to restore the software from your system after replacing the HARD drive.

You mentioned that you have a ghost image.  Are you referring to Norton Ghost?  If so, what version of Ghost was used to make the image?

If you don't have a ghost, this thread may be useful for you.

    http://community.Norton.com/T5/other-Norton-products/how-do-I-restore-ghost-image-to-a-new-hard-drive/TD-p/540018

In addition, this document covers restoring a Ghost image on a new disk using Ghost 15.

I suspect that the process is similar for other versions of Ghost.  Once I have the exact version of Ghost, I'm able to find something more specific to your version of Ghost.

  • How to copy the recovery on DVD partition in windows 8?

Hi, recently I put asus s series laptop with windows 8 installed inside, I don't have a recovery with the laptop instead of this CD, they provided a recovery hard disk partition... and my question is If there is a way to copy this partition recovery for DVD and use it to restore the system at the time of the break... Please help me

I use ATI regularly for imaging, but I have not tried what you're asking. My guess is that you can use the DVD at any time to restore the drive to the first day (factory condition). But unless you had a failure, either with the operating system or the hard drive, why would restore you the first day? I don't think that someone wakes up in the morning and say: ' Hey, I think I'll put my PC in the way it was the day I bought it, just for fun. ":-)

I'm only theorizing here, but I would say that in the event of failure, put you in the ATI boot CD, use it to restore the recovery Partition from the DVD to the hard drive (which means probably wipe the disc in the process), reboot to the hard disk, then press what touches 'F' it to begin the action for recovery. Then it would be like a new laptop again.

Or maybe, with the recovery being bootable DVDs, you would just restore the hard drive directly to him. I don't really know for you; the recovery DVDs only I knew were like that (pick up directly from the DVD), but they were created with a program on the PC/laptop purchase. If you have a spare autour hard drive, you can always test the process to see if it works if you will not have to wait until there is a catastrophic failure, and then find out it doesn't work.

The hidden restore Partition Lenovo is a protected partition, then you will not be able to remove it through disk management as you would with any other normal partition. You can use Diskpart. You can still use these steps to remove the hidden restore partition if you have already done a clean install, but you will need a 3rd party software to combine with the main partition. It is better if you remove the first hidden restore Partition, then cross with a clean install using one of the many guides available on this forum.

    Step 1.
Burn recovery media. Type "Recovery media" (without the quotes) in the search in the Start Menu. Open the application and follow the instructions.

    Step 2.
Open the application by typing Diskpart either 'Diskpart' (without the quotes) in the search, or type "Diskpart.exe" in run by pressing Windows key + R.

    Step 3.
Now with open Diskpart, you must enter the following command lines:

    I. type "list disk" without the quotes and press ENTER.

II. Type in "select disk 0" and press ENTER.

III. then type in "list partition" and press ENTER.

IV. then type in 'select partition x' x = the recovery partition you want to delete (I think it's 1, I do not remember) replace x with the number of recovery partition and press to enter.

    V. finally type in "delete partition override" and press ENTER.

That should do the trick. Good luck!

    HP_Tools partition has the Diagnostics

Recovery partition has the recovery that are accessible with a key F11 to restart Manager.

System partition is required by the operating system

C partition contains the operating system and is also where you store everything and run programs.

If you have created a recovery from USB or disk set with the HP retrieve creator of media already, then you can safely remove the recovery partition. Be aware that you will lose the built in functionality to have the Recovery Manager. F11 won't do anything.

  • Satellite Pro A210 1AZ Disk Partitions

    Hello

Hope someone can explain to me. We have two Satellite Pro A210 1AZ identical machines, Windows Vista Home, 120 GB of disk. They have two partitions on the disk in the computer. C: Vista is 56.2 GB and data E: is 54.0 GB. I guess there are other accounts hidden for the missing 10 GB partition and I guess that is the recovery partition.

My problem is the following. Everything written in C:, programs, Documents etc., and it is more or less complete. The E: is not used. Why is there an E: partition? Why not a single 110GB C:?

I know that I can copy files on the E: partition but trying I find annoying. My wife doesn't understand anything on the partitions, folders and files and just wants everything to be where you expect it to be - in Documents or photos. Seems reasonable.

What can I do to get rid of the E: thing and have just a large C:?

NB - I have no interest is messing around with the PC, I want to just use it and forget about it.

    Thank you

    Fred

    Hello Fred

I don't know how much experience you have with the PC, but it is usual to divide the hard driver to two or more partitions. each partition can have a different name and you can save specific data on the specific partition.

For example, I have three partitions:
    C for the operating system
Private D for stuff like photos, movies and mp3 files and
    E for Business stuff

Anyway, if you want to have a (the ability of the entire HARD disk) partition, you can delete second partition and expand the C partition to use any HARD drive capacity.
Open Control Panel > administrative tools > computer management.

In the left pane, under storage category, click on disk management
Now select and right mouse button click on the partition that you want to change.
In the context menu, you will see options to extend, reduce or remove the partition. Select the option you want.
If your 2nd partition is empty, you can remove the 2nd partition, and then expand the 1st partition to use the freed up space.

So to learn more about the bits and bytes please http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/OPT7301UY001JR01.htm

    Bye and good luck!

    Hello.

I just bought a P300-1 Satellite has very nice portable 8. Everything has been restored to the original state. The thing is, I'm sure someone has resized the partition of HARD drive on the disk "D". It has a 160 GB hard drive, but the "D" drive is showing only 54 GB. I would like to reduce the size to give me maximum space on the 'C' drive but worried that it might affect the "HDD Recovery" folder that exists on this subject.

Create recovery DVDs using Toshiba Recovery creator tool. After doing this, you can do with disk partitions you want.
One day, if you want to reinstall Vista and have the factory settings, you can use this created DVD facilities.

Please note: before installation of Vista drive HARD whole lance and ancient structure of the partitions is deleted. Data back up are required.
