  I'm new to following Sound and Vibration and can't seem to find how to measure Leq. To clarify, I do not have LabView with this package, just the Sagno & Suite 2010. Currently, the only options are linear, exponential, maximum and equal trust (all found in the analysis of Octave SPL stage).

  I apologize if this isn't the right place for this post, but I need a solution. I recently bought LabVIEW 8.6 Developer Suite with the Suite Sound Measurement and to create a program of NVH testing at my company. I am a newbe to Labview, but I've been a programmer/hardware geek since the days of the TRS-80 model1. Here's my problem. I installed the following developers DVD package on my Office Windows XP Professional and all goes well. I see the following Sound and Vibration Measurement listed under LabVIEW 8.6 able & Automation Explorer, and examples of the Toolbox for work in LabVIEW. When the laptop I bought to do my current job came with a Vista Business Edition 32 bit version installed I found the following problem. On this machine and two other machines to Vista (64-bit and a 32 bit) I tried, the installation does not record the Souind and vibrations under LabVIEW 8.6 Suite and they show Sound and Vibration toolkit as not installed in the examples section. In the Panel by virtue of National Instruments, all 4 machines show the Suite Sound and Vibration as installed 6.0. I have tried to uninstall, reinstall, change in the control panel and reinstall from DVD without change in the result. I really need get the laptop works as it's my real development and test machine. XP Setup is not an option because the machine newly purchased with a high-end sound system and downgrade XP was not available. I'm out of ideas.

  I wanted to close what I got it finally works. This time, I uninstalled the audio and vibration of the LabVIEW control entries in uninstall Vista. Then re-installed and now it works. Before there were three entries, one for the suite, one for the runtime and one for the Toolbox. After having removed all three and reinstall it from the DVD, only subsequently arises, and everything seems to be good.

  I am new to the sound and Vibration Assistant and he had to get monitored sound of a surfboard 4722 the speaker to computers.  I can capture data and display it, but I want, but can't seem to find a way to get the sound to the speakers.  Thanks for any help

  Hi Mike.

  Unfortunately, the Sound and Vibration Assistant doesn't have a built-in way to route your signal input to your speakers.

  However, if you have LabVIEW, you can add a step to run a LabVIEW VI that generates output a file from your computer speakers (or external speakers).  You must write a LabVIEW program that either acquires a signal or load a file of recorded signal, then this signal to your speakers.  "You will most likely use the Play Waveform Express VI of the Express" exit pallet on the block diagram.  "After you wrote this program, you need to add a step in the sound and Vibration Assistant using the Add a step" run a LabVIEW VI.

  ICH möchte eine Maschine von Gerauschemissionen untersuchen. Dazu soll mit Hilfe der Norm DIN EN ISO 11201 der emissions-Schalldruckpegel altitute werden. ALS Messhard-und software are mir following components available:

  Software:

  -LabVIEW 2010
  -Noise and Vibration Assistant 2010
  -Windows 7

  Material:
  -NI 9234 Messsystem mit NI USB-9162
  Condenser-Mikrofon
  -Laptop

  ICH möchte mit dem 'Sound and Vibration Assistant' ein Oktavspektrum bzw. Ein 1/3 - Oktavspektrum-> Terzspektrum aufnehmen. Dazu sind mir ein paar aufgekommen questions.

  -Laut Norm is die Messdauer bei measurements in 30s Oktav-Terzbandern fur Frequenzbander mit Mittenfrequenzen von 160 Hz low sowie für die 15s und Frequenzbander mit Mittenfrequenzen von 200 Hz und high.

  • Wenn ich alglemein eine measurement starte andert sich jede Sekunde bei einer sampling frequency von 51, 2 k und den zu lesenden 51, 2K das all Spektrum von samples. Also jede Sekunde ein neues result. Wenn ich also 30 Sekunden mass, means are dann, dass ich aus 30 results (Pro result ein entire Terzspektrum) den Mittelwert bilden kann bzw. muss?
  
  
  • Wie ich dann die unterschiedlichen Aufnahmedauer auf die Frequenzbander anwenden should? Should ich die highest frequency und niedrigste frequency q und dann der Zeit messen vorgegebenen correspondingly?

Oder ich aus den werten eine weitere Mittelung paper individual should?

• How to cancel the keyboard sounds and vibrations on an Acer Iconia A1 - 840 8 inch tablet

  Keyboard continues with the audio and vibration all in settings | Sounds | Tactile sound and vibrate on touch are unchecked.  It is particularly strong for the Google Chrome browser.

• Multitone generator with more entries and exits of computer speakers

  I would like to add several harmonically related sinewave tones (maybe 10) and output for computer or line out speakers. Ideally want to use full range audio 44100 Hz sampling rate as well. I managed to combine two or three screws and get something that works to but lower sampling frequencies be dynamically updated if I change of frequency or phase. And to higher sampling frequency, it is not a continuous sound. It just beeps, then waits, beeps and then waits. I'm sure that oters have attempted to address this problem in the past but can't find much info. Currently using a Mac but could switch to a pc if necessary. Orientation will be most graciously accepted.

  I found several things that keep all your VI to work as you wish. The attached VI works fine on my Mac.

  1. I configured the sound and tone generator to use the same sampling information. Any other combination creates complications.

  2. I discovered the hard way that the tone generator wants the frequency to be an integer multiple of /(# samples) (sampling frequency). It does not appear in the documentation (help file) but other combinations Sunrise errors.

  3 set the input of the amplitude (not your Amplitudes) on the Generator.vi of Multitone to 1.00. This makes its compatible with the screw Sound output. It is documented in the help, but it must be read in several places and set up thepieces.

  4. the reset to Multitone Generator.vi entry must be filled to deal with changes in frequencies, amplitudes or phases. I connected just a real constant for now. Later, this could be better managed by a structure of the event.

  5 consider the frequency, amplitude, and phase controls at tables or a 2D array as an arbitrary number of tones can be used without changing the program.

  6. a sort of waiting may be required. Without it, I sometimes got a timeout error. Several options are often different from the Structure off the diagram. The sound output wait will ensure that the time-out does not occur, but it also produces small openings in the sound. Forward (ms) works well enough, but it's a guess as to the optimal value for the wait.  After all the changes, I have madevene that the any waiting seems to work.

  Try the following.

  Download IDT Audio Installer on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug in the AC adapter.

  Robinet tap away at the key esc that you start the computer to launch the Start Menu, and then select f10 to open the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the default values (sometimes it's f9, but the menu below indicates the correct key), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press ENTER.  Press f10 to save the setting and still use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and press on enter.

  Allow Windows to fully - charge it will automatically load an audio driver, but let just this complete.  Then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  Once this done, do a right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select playback devices.  'Speakers and headphones' left click once to highlight, and then click the Set Default button - check if you now audio.

• Problem with the sounds and animations working together...

  Hi all

  I learned how to use Adobe InDesign recently (as in...) Today).  I adapt well to the format after only a few hundred moments of pulling hair.  I create an interactive document and there is a place where I want an animation and sound to play at the same time when you hover over this task.  I figured out how to add a button to the region and I used that to the sound.  Then I discovered that I could add an animation to the button as well.  However, when the button is hovered over, the sound is played, and then, once it's done, the animation occurs.  I discovered that if I put first animation online, then the opposite is true.  I get the animation, then the sound.  I need them to play at the same time as the sound IS the sound effect for the animation.  SOOOO... I tried to put the two buttons, two of them wired to turn off when you move the cursor over them, but that didn't work.  All I get is any button is on top.  They are not both work with a hover.  Is there a way to make the sound and animation to play together, in the sink with the other?

  You will see your animation and sound in the distribution panel. Shift-click to activate both and click play together on the bottom of the Panel.

  Right-click on the express vi and select "Open the front panel", you can now see the express vi blockdiagram. You can store as a new vi and work with it. With the new vi, you have all the controls in the dialog box.
