  Every morning when I start my laptop, the Windows Indexing service starts.  He turns for hours and really slows down my computer while it is running.  I suspect that it is a new construction index every day and not incremental update.

  Last week, I opened administrative services, found indexing service and set its startup type to disabled.  When I go in there now, he said that the service is stopped, but in my status bar windows taskbar system, it is still ongoing.

  You probably mean the Windows Desktop Search?  (Which is not the same as Indexing Service).  Go to add/remove programs then uninstall it.

• ISE Inline node

  I have an Inline ISE node I added successfully to my ISE admin node.  After that I added the node inline, I was not able to configure it later.  When I went back to change the configuration, the node admin said that it is not able to communicate with the node inline.  Here's the exact error:

  Could not establish a connection to node Inline Posture. Please remember that certificates are correctly configured for mutual authentication between this node and the node of the Inline Posture.

  The certificates have not changed since originally, I added the node.  Also I am not able to open a SSL session to trust IP of the node inline.  I don't know if this is normal or not.

  It looks like the same question, I stumbled on, elementary school will allow you to join the node inline, but as soon as manage you it will complain on the certificate. Can you check the eku for cert and see if the authentication of the client and server is active?

• RAC node down for a month

  Hi all

  I have the data base RAC with two nodes that is a copy of the Production database which purpose QA.

  There were a few problems that took two weeks to be resolved and since then there is a node running and active and the other is down for 1 month.

  Since it is QA we had no need of SLA and issues have been fixed when we had time to work on it.

  Before you start the RAC node that is down I would like to know if I need to take care of something before you start the node that is down for a month.

  Or if I need to make a correction.

  I'd appreciate any comments.

  If the remaining node went unchanged, so you can start the node to the ground with no problems... a minute, a day or a month, it's okay.

  The biggest challenge over such a long period of time is to make sure that someone does not have configuration changes to the top node. You don't want to apply the patches of OS or Oracle patches. This can complicate things when the other node comes back upward.

  I have a Satellite M70. My problem started several weeks ago with the laptop freezing. Then it blue screened a couple of times. Now when I start it, it runs for a few seconds and then hangs.

  I can't do anything because the screen is blank but the LED still show as if it was on. If I leave the phone for a day or two, and then I can start it again and the same thing happens, but if I try to start immeadiately, the screen remains blank.

  Any help would be appreciated, I had company look and they said that the LCD screen was tired, but it is not if it lights.
  Also, I tried to plug in an external monitor and it's the same thing. PLS help

  Here in the forum we can only speculate what may be the problem. I don't think anyone can say for sure why this happens. I got BSOD a few times but always after installing some shareware applications. In my case it was clearly software related issue.

  It is not easy to say why this is happening to you. You can enter the BIOS settings? Try to start your computer laptop in safe mode, just to see if it works.

  Could you please help me in my problem explained below.

  My experiences require to run the program from LV for 2-3 days in a stretch of collecting data to 10 Hz speed using a release configuration. But after running for a few hours, the program slows down, not buying the data with the same speed. If I restart the program again, it works very well with the required speed.

  I have LV v4.0.1 running in my Windows 2000 operating system. I have the card PCI-GPIB connected to Lecroy 8901 GPIB interface for data acquisition. I also LAB - PC + to control some engines.

  I have NEITHER-DAQ 6.6, NI-VISA for windows 95 / NT installed in my system.

  I thought that the problem could be my low end computer and recently updated with motherboard relatavely high speed and RAM. But the problem is still there.

  This could be an overheating problem.  If your CPU overheats, then the power will suddenly cut to your computer.  Boot safe mode starts with less processeses and running tasks and so your computer can run more fees.  Since you get 20 to 30 minutes, the way to check this is to download and run freeware 'CoreTemp '.

  It displays the temperature of your CPU and show you if it is not too hot before you stop.

  The two main causes of overheating are fans of CPU does not and a build-up of dust in your computer that acts as a blanket and causes overheating.   If overheating is your problem, open the case, check the appropriate fan and buy a can of compressed air to blow the dust bunnies.

  Another possible cause is bad RAM (memory) memory modules.  Try to remove and re - insert your RAM modules.  There are also tests of RAM, you can run - although they tend to be CPU, so you won't know if you have a RAM problem or a problem of temperature.

  Vista has stopped turning the games run for a long time. The display would go crazy and the sytem would lock. Gotta make a stop with the power button. No errors are recorded. I re-installed the game. Same thing. I reinstalled Vista 64. Same thing. I get about 3 minutes in the game and then locking the. 1 single game still work (BioShock2). COD - MW2 and COD MW lock the sytem. One is direct install, and the other is the steam. I have a video card Nvidia GTX 280 with the latest drivers from Microsoft. Before the reinstall, I tried to install the most recent NVIDIA. Did not help. Yet the locks without showing error. About half of the time it stops at my off video card a few seconds after that the display goes crazy. BioShock uses DirectX 10, and others use DirectX 11. I read on some sites that 11 causes the video crashes on some systems. I want to know is why 11 is working for so long and stop NOW. Is there a way to make the games all run on 10? COD BlackOPS crashes too. I played ALL these games over and over again until the last 3 weeks. If there was some error to post logs I would but there is not. Any suggestions on where to find some kind of problem that could cause this? The video card was removed, cleaned and put back into the computer. Still crashes. 1 in 4 of the games will take place without any problems. 3 will be blocking of the computer and the video trash in 3 minutes or less to start the game. The video is great, until blocking.

  If both check good, the map may be at fault. In which case it is overheating you can manually increase the fan speed in the Nvidia Control Panel.

• T60: Recovery of backup running for 24 hours...

  I have a T60 with 60 GB HARD drive and I decided to get a new 500 GB HDD, With the Rescue & Recovery option, I was really confident to try myself this upgrade. So did the following.

  -The latest version of RR 4.x on old HDD
  Taken-A a full backup of the old HARD drive into a network drive (backup file was about 13 GB)
  -Removed old HDD & installed new HARD drive
  -Starting and using RR pointing to the network drive and started the backup
  -RR finished copying the files, and then he began to loop through some messages "System Configuration" and has been restarted every minute or so.

  Given that the backup file was about 13 GB, I've let it run for more than 30 hours and eventually killed.

  I had to install my old 60 GB HARD drive and now looking for a better option restore my T60 on the new HARD drive.
  I don't know if I was a bad thing, but would like to know - the best way to get my backup restored on my new HARD drive?

  Return to factory settings is not an option for me because of the other limitations.
