• I still having trouble installing Silverlight on my system. (XP HOME - IE8) I was doing the race of Microsoft for 2 months.

  VM Ware workstation using 8, I am creating RAC nodes.
  For each node, I need two network cards

  NIC 1 ---- for public network (Plus VIP,SCAN)
  
  NIC 2 ----- for private network (Interconnect)

  For the configuration of network adapter, VM has the following choices
  
  1 bridged
  2 NAT
  3 host-Only
  4 custom: specific virtual network
  
  These options are important for the creation of Public/private NETWORK card? If so, which one should I choose for NIC1 and NIC2?

  For the configuration of network adapter, VM has the following choices

  1 bridged

  Bridged mode it is commonly used, virtual machines can communicate fully with each verse outside through the host machine. Type of network connection between a virtual machine and the rest of the world. Under networking networking, a virtual machine appears as an additional computer on the same physical Ethernet network as host.

  2 NAT

  NAT is useful when you have a limited amount of IP addresses or are connected to the network via a non Ethernet network card. NAT works by NAT of the virtual machines in a private network of VMnet than the host machine. When a virtual machine sends a request to access a network resource, it appears as if the request came from the host machine to the network resource.

  3 host-Only

  Network invited only provides a network connection between the virtual machine and the host computer, using a virtual NIC which are visible by the host operating system. This approach can be useful if you need to set up an isolated virtual network.

  4 custom: specific virtual network

  Establishment of the network for your personalized virtual network components is a very simple process. Before attempting to implement complex virtual networks, you should have a good understanding of how to configure the network devices in your host operating system and guest.

  Do not put a check in the box: remove the software driver for this device.

  Restart your computer and Windows will install your wireless network.

• VROPs - creating reports for VMS that were down for 60 days or longer

  We have a requirement for the creation of a regular monthly report for virtual machines that have been down for 60 days or more. I thought by using the default "Disk space recoverable of Virtual Machines for some time" for the creation of this report would be the best option. But the date of the option of filtering to this view does not give an option to choose anything prior to a specific date.

  There is possibility to choose the last days of specific", also has the ability to relative and absolute dates > do not know which option is best for filtering to see my specific opinion. Date range seems also seems to be a good option but it needs so many dates. It would have been nice if we could choose only the Date 'To' leave the Date of something more to this day.

  I think that this could be a really useful report, but when I was testing the integrated perspective time settings had no effect on which were virtual machines.  It seems that it is show all virtual computers that are turned off, regardless of the parameters of time or how long the virtual machine has been powered down.  I've played with filters and could not find a way to filter the virtual machines based on the length of time that they have been turned off.  What I did to work around this problem, is to add a column for the metric"summary | "Powered off time %" and the Transformation of the value average.  If the virtual machine has been powered down for the entire period that average will always be 100%.  If it was powered at any point the average off power time will be less than 100%.  Is another metric, you might use this "summary | Turn off the power"with the set Minimum Transformation.  If the virtual machine has been for the entire period that minimum will be '1', otherwise it will be '0 '.  I thought that the percentage was easier to understand, so I went with that.  Time settings, I use just the last 2 months.  I have attached the view that I use.

  "RAC" cost about 25 k per CPU and the fact of "rac node" around 10, so the question is if we use "rac a node" instead of lets say "normal cars", we can use our current licence or should buy us new licenses.

  CARS and ONE NŒUD CCR are two options of DIFFERENT Oracle Database (such as advanced partitioning and security etc.), so if you use the CAR - you buy RAC, if you use a NŒUD CCR - you buy a CAR NŒUD.
  It's like you ask if we by partitioning option, we use advanced security? Of course not.

  The point is, BECAUSE ONE NŒUD offers the possibility to create a normal CARS only 30 minutes (for moving users from one node to another), so that's why it is less expensive than normal CARS.

  For each virtual network in the virtual machine, VMWARE has a virtual card in a physical machine.

  In vmware physical machine to create a new virtual adapter (for example host only), when you create a new virtual machine and add the network interface, you must associate the new interface of virtual machine to the virtual map of the physical machine.

  Let me explain the process that we follow for purposes of revaluation. Maybe you can use the same:

  1 allows to assume that my functional currency is USD and I have a balance of account (1110 say that corresponds to the account of Bank) to 1100 GBP and USD equivalent is 1000 30-Sep (lets assume that it is the first month of operation).
  2. now I want to make a re-evaluation of this account and the current exchange rate is USD/GBP 0,9. So, I'll run the revaluation for this account. The system will calculate the balance in the functional currency as $990. It will take so $10 in the account of exchange losses.
  3. Thus, after recosting, the 1110 account balance is GBP 1100 and equivalent 990 USD.
  4. I will also implement a rule of automatic reversal by which the revaluation journal entries gets knocked down the 1st of the month following (UN-fit period).
  5. If so, the entrance of reassessment gets reversed on 01 - Oct.
  6. the balance of the account 1100 (after reversal of revaluation) is GBP 1100 and equivalent 1000 USD (back to the situation where it was before the revaluation). The justification for the reversal is that this Exchange or loss gain is unrealized and therefore should be canceled to reflect the actual fluctuation.
  7. now in Oct we do not mean that a single transaction - GBP100 payment equivalent to $95.
  8. whereas on 31 - Oct, the balance of the account 1110 is 1000 GBP and $905 equivalent.
  9. now, the rate of Exchange in effect on 31 - Oct is 0.92 USD/GBP.
  10. as a result, we'll run the revaluation as on 31 - Oct. The system will calculate the balance in the functional currency as $920. It will take so $15 in the account of foreign exchange gain.
  11. Thus, after recosting, the 1110 account balance is 1000 GBP and equivalent 920 USD.
  12 once again steps 4 a go repeats each month.

  We have a RAC 4 nodes 10.2.0.3, who has had only one node powered off for a few weeks. We notice that the VIP of inactive node appears in the ifconfig of node 1, linked on eth0:2. Yesterday, I removed it using delete ifconfig on eth0:2. I checked in ifconfig and, indeed, the link was gone. When three other RAC nodes rebounded last night the VIP associated with the other server had, and more. How? Why?

  Start the computer in Mode safe mode with network support Windows (on the startup screen, press F8) as a test to see if that helps.
